    - Hotsync Installer Issues Folks, I've installed this hotsync for entourage on two other computers, but for some reason on my new Powerbook, it refuses to install...so no syncing between my Tungsten Palm and Entourage. I get the error message, "Microsoft Component Plugin not found" which creates and error on install. I look in the Microsfoft Office>Office> folder on my laptop and the Component Plugin is there! I've turned off all virus protection and tried to install, re-download. I'm about to give up on using Entourage as my contacts software. Anyone run into the same problem?     - Entourage 2004 - Exchange 2003 not connecting Hello First time posting in this newsgroup so be gentle! Ok client has just purchased Entourage 2004, previous Entourage X working fine on same MAC. Problem is during the Assisted email setup for Exchange, it argues about cannot find server, giving error code -3176 THE SERVER CANNOT BE FOUND The MAC has the local DNS server (same server as exchange 2003) in its network properties, using the network utility the DNS name and IP address correctly resolve to this server.     - Stopping Junk filter on WebMail only? I have a spam filter on my server with a devnull mail box I use to preview spam. When I logged into the server using Entourage 2004 it automatically set up a junk folder for me that moves the spam it detects into the junk folder in this mailbox. That is fine for moving junk in Entourage on my home computer, but it prevents me from applying a bayesian filter to the junk folder on the server.     - Project Centre crashes *every* time As it says, really. I only use the "big three" apps in Office 2k4, but recently I decided to use the Project Centre, as it was part of the whole package and seemed a good way of keeping things organised. However each time I try to add something the error notification opens (or rather doesn't - I get the dock icon, but nothing else!) and the app that called the Project Centre needs to be Force Quitted from Activity Monitor (the normal way doesn't work!). When I open Entourage "manually" it needs the "Shift-when-starting" salute each time. I have used the uninstall and reinstall everything technique twice. I have deleted loads of prefs. Everything is up-to-date. (Both MS Apps and Tiger) and I have a 1.25GHz iMac with .75GB RAM (and, unfortunately loads of Third Party apps I don't want to drop). Can you help? It's a case of one last chance, otherwise I will make my own Project Centre by adding aliases to separate folders, and perhaps using DragThing to launch them from a new dock.     - Send & Receive anomaly I'm using Entourage 2004 on a Powerbook G4 running OSX 10.3.9. I have 4 POP accounts that I use regularly. Recently, when I check my mail, the status bar shows the progress taking an inordinate amount of time to complete. I've manually sent and received the accounts individually and all at once and the problem doesn't appear to be connected to any particular account. Sometimes the "connecting to.." progress bar will spin forever until I escape ("command period"). I have a broadband connection and the hang-ups seem random. I've tested Entourage on other, similarly configured machines, with other accounts on the same ISP (and domain) and they send and receive just fine. I've performed the usual range of maintanence (repaired permissions, run DiskWarrior, cleared caches, tossed pref files and rebuilt the data file) but nothing seems to solve the problem. The database is about 2.5GB but I was under the impression that there was no file size limit. Since the problem seems confined to only one of our office machines I assume that it is a software issue.     - cant delete I have to pieces of email that I can not delete from the deleted messages folder. Everything else I have deleted for two days now has deleted fine. I have tried purging delete items, clicking on the delete button on the top of entrouage, highlighting and hitting delete on my keyboard, nothing will delete these two pieces of mail.     - Flagged items When I flag an item in my Entourage inbox, the reminder alerts pop us as scheduled. But if I flag a message with an alert scheduled, and then move it to a folder, the popup alerts don't seem to occur. The flag is still attached if I open the message, but no alert.     - Hotsync w Treo 650 As I understand it, when synching tween Entourage and Palm, I have to select ONE address: work or home. Ostensibly because Palm can only keep one address. With my new Treo 650 however, I see a pulldown choice for 3 addresses in my handheld. So how do I get multiple addresses from Entourage into my Treo? Does Microsoft need to write a new conduit?     - e-mails from Sent folder display no date when moved Hey folks I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. When a user moves e-mails from the sent folder to any other folder, it loses the date and time. Moving it back recovers the date and time.     - Periodic download from a separate account I have an email account from which I only want to retrieve email only periodically - in other words I don't want to do it on the regular 10-minute cycle I have set in Entourage.     - Invitation to Meeting feature I am a new Mac user and thus a new Entourage user. I am trying to set up a meeting that recurs once a month on the last Friday of each month. I want to send out an invitation but I only want people to have to confirm their presence at the next meeting - not all of the meetings in the future (they would not want to commit to more than one meeting at a time - scientists!)     - Copy Paste inside Entourage 2004 does not work I can copy any text from outside Entourage 2004 into Entourage, but I cannot copy or cut any text inside an entourage email. I am not sure when I lost that capability.     - Sharing Projects Most information about Entourage 2004 states that it still does not allow its calendar to be shared between two computers both with Entourage 2004 on it. However, if you use the Project Center and create an "Office Calendar" project and share it, the information appears to sync just fine. Am I missing something. The sharing feature updates automatically ever ten minutes or so. How can I change the update cycle. If for example, I add an event to a project calendar that is to be shared with the other computer, how can I make the other computer's project center calendar immediately update and add the new event.     - contact views in project when I add existing contacts into a project, window opens which displays a list of all contacts, but the view includes columns that I don't want, and doesn't have columns that I do want. I know how to change views of the project window, and address book window, but I can't work out how to change the views of the "add contacts" window. the same problem comes when I am using another Office component (eg Word) and I go to Tools:Address Book. The view given isn't very helpful for me and I would like to change the columns. How can I do this? I suspect there is a default view which controls these things.     - Can I deleted events? I'm attempting to move from Now Up-to-Date & Contact to Entourage X. I imported my Up-to-Date file into Entourage but all the repetitions of what were repeating events in the Up-to-Date file are now separate events in Entourage (even though Entourage supports repeating events). I need these to be repeating events so that, if I alter one, the change applies to all. There aren't that many and I don't mind re-creating them in Entourage, but I need to delete the many, many individual events which Entourage created when it imported these repeating events from from Up-to-Date. Some of them had repetitions many years into the future, so please tell me there's a way to delete them other than: select an event; press 'Delete", OK the "Are you sure..." dialogue; select an event; press 'Delete", OK the "Are you sure..." dialogue; press 'Delete", OK the "Are you sure..." dialogue.     - Exchange server: deleted items lose creation date Using OS 10.2.8, Entourage 2004 and exchange server: I'm finding that a large number of email messages lose their creation date when deleted from other folders. Does anyone know of a reason for this? It's causing a problem as I use a schedule to delete msgs from the Deleted Items folder once they're more than x days old.     - Entourage hangs - is there a size limit for users email folder (Microsoft User Data) Hello All, I have a user that has close to 4 GB's of data in their Microsoft User Data folder. The issue is that upon launching the app or just clicking on different portions of Entourage (e.g., going from Mail to Calendar) the user is stuck with the beachball from 45 seconds to several minutes. The user has Tiger (10.4.2) and Entourage version 11.1.0 (040913). I've disabled Norton and added the Microsoft User Data to the PRIVACY folder list of Spotlight.     - Entourage freezes during strange disk access I am increasingly having a problem where, for no apparent reason, Entourage hangs up on my Powerbook while I hear a ton of hard drive access, as if it was saving or sorting or reading the disk. Everything works fine after it stops, but this situation occurs, now, multple times per day and for a good minute or so each time. It also impacts my ability to use other applications, since it kind of dominates my CPU. I have a lot of old emails, and also sort mail into folders to keep them organized. Is there a magic point where Entourage suddenly can't handle the volume of old email and starts having to constantly rearrange the files, or something?     - Calendar Reverts Another neat trick: I have some admin folks here (executive not system) and they are responsible for updating the C level people's calendars. Well, sometimes meetings move. So the admin will change the time/date of the meeting appropriately, then send the update to everyone. Then at some point, magically, the appointment reverts to the oringinal time. The other recipients calendar is unaffected, just the CEO's calendar has reverted. Here's the twist, the Admin uses both a Mac 10.3.9 and Windows XP so he's using Entourage 2004 and Outlook 2003. The CEO uses Mac 10.4.2 and Entourage 2004. My theory: the boss' calendar (on Entourage) is updating Exchange with outdated information.     - Returning from Vacation I would love a solution, but I will settle for confirmation: It is vacation season (for everyone but me, 3 years running), and have a new bug to report. When my tanned and happy users return to the drudgery of work, the find their Entourage database is empty and must fully synchronize wit the Exchange server. This is a triffle problematic, as many of thes users are approaching 2GB of mail on the server. In some cases especially when more than one person is returning from vacation, thi could make Entourage unusable for as long as a day and a half, forcin the users to not only use OWA, but complain profusely. This has happened on 5 different occasions thus far, to 8 differen people.     - Constant password issues on LAN Hi there - I am having a weird password problem - it started about two weeks ago, and I haven't been able to figure it out. When I'm on my company's LAN at the office is the only time this really is a problem. When I work from home on the VPN I don't seem to have this issue. I'll be working along, and I'll get a dialog box that says... "Mail could not be received at this time. The server for account "My Account" returned the error "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password." Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?" So I click yes, and re-enter my password (clicking the box that says to save the password). Most of the time this seems to occur when Entourage says it is updating Deleted Items or Sent Items. The Inbox will even update once I do this, but 3 minutes later, it chokes again. As a matter of fact, in the time it has taken me to type this post, I have seen this request 4 times. And before you ask, I am typing in my password correctly :-) One work-around I have found is to restart Entourage. So I restart and Entourage behaves for a while. I haven't changed my Exchange settings, and they are pretty normal - I did have to set the directory port to point at the global catalog port (3268) instead of LDAP so I could check names and do directory lookups, but other than that, it's a normal setup.     - Help with Identities please? Hi I seem to have built up a number of identities over time. Some are backups, some just have different names. I don't really understand why I have all these different identities although I do have 3 email address's but they are all visible and usable under the one identity I do everything in.     - Calendar events times display wrong In Entourage 2004 (fully updated) Calendar, events show the wrong time (and sometimes are even displayed on the wrong date) than what was originally entered. This is true for all views (Month, Workweek, etc.). For instance, I may create an event to "Brush Teeth" on August 29 at 5:00 PM, but in the month view it displays as 10:00 AM. If I double-click on the event then the time/date will be correct in the event's window. However, sometimes when I double-click on an event it will MOVE to a different date and time -- for no reason.     - Entourage sends, but takes many many hours to deliver... For the past two days, Entourage has been taking hours and hours to deliver my emails. It sends right away, but the recipients aren?t getting the emails to hours, or even a day later. I checked with my server guy and it appears to be Entourage, rather than our email server.     - Disable or remove the "Junk" button? is there any way to disable or remove the "Junk" button? It's pretty irritating because I don't get "junk" yet that blasted button is there beside the"Delete" button just to make the application difficult. Once a legitimate email is in the Junk folder Entourage makes it especially troublesome to retrieve it, forcing me to read and answer a dialog that offers the wrong default choice. It's so... Windowsesque. Additionally, I would like to remove the "Print" button since I never use it.     - Phantom unread news item Sometimes Entourage will boldface a newsgroup's mailbox/folder/server line (including this group's) as though there's an unread news item in it. However, View is set to Unread Only and shows no messages in it: "There are no unread messages in this folder." If I click on Mark All Read the boldface will go away as expected.     - Application Entourage has unexpectedly quit Entourage X (with SR1) on Tiger has started giving this message along with an Apple "report this error" dialog whenever I quit the program or try to switch identities. We now have PocketPC 6600 PDA Phones. They are Samsung or Audiovox
(depending on who you speak with). Anyway...is there a reliable program
that will allow me to synch my Mac (running 10.4.2) using Entourage
2004 with this PDA?

I'd really appreciate help on this one.

Try the Missing Sync for Windows Mobile. It's new software though and
reviews have been mixed. I'm not aware of a similar program that's gotten
consistently positive reviews.
