 - Disable smooth font in Entourage 2004 Hello, Entourage v. X had a preference to disable Quartz rendering engine. I can't find it in v. 2004. Is there maybe a ruse to turn it off anyway?  - Everything is GONE! Last night I quit Entourage, & shut down properly. All files in = Entourage=20 were intact at that point. Today I opened the program and it's as if I = had=20 just installed it. All info was reset!!! Everything is gone! There was = an email=20 message that read...Welcome to Entourage!!! How can I recover my emails/contacts etc..? I had the exchange server = set=20 up as well for my various POP accounts. This is a 2 week old PowerBook G4, top o the line..blah, blah, blah....  - Entourage 2004 I have the same problem as pete mac! I can't RECEIVE my mails with=20 Entourage 2004, although I CAN receive them with Entourage X. I don't know what I am doing wrong... I wish to use Entourage 2004 on an PowerBook using OS 10.3.4 I have already tried the following: - checked all account settings. they are correct. - checked all network system prefs settings and proxies. they are = correct. - created new identity in E.2004 with new account. still won't work. - numerous restarts during these processes - tried to have Firewall ON or OFF and check -nothing! I have tried Entourage X and Outlook Express (through classic OS 9) and=20 they all work absolutely fine - with exactly the same settings! My internet provider is forthnet. The funny thing is that when I try to = set up=20 a new, test account with another provider (panafonet)=20 Entourage 2004 works fine!!! This is starting to drive me nuts - does anyone have any ideas?  - Entourage 2004 STILL won't see pop server I don't know what I am doing wrong... I wish to use Entourage 2004 on an iBook using OS 10.3.4 Following a recent upgrade from Office X to Office 2004, Entourage 2004 refuses to see any pop servers. I cannot send or receive mail. I have already tried the following: - checked all account settings. they are correct. - checked all network system prefs settings and proxies. they are correct. - created new identity in E.2004 with new account. still won't work. - rebuilt 2004 database - complete removal of Office X - complete uninstall and reinstall of Office 2004 - repair permissions - numerous restarts during these processes I have now reinstalled Office X, and Entourage X works absolutely fine - with exactly the same settings!  - Simple Search Problems Using "from" "contains", "subject" "contains" etc. drop down menus. When I complete a simple search on either inbox or sent mail for an = email=20 addresss, name (or part of a name) or word from message subject, no=20 results are found even though I know emails are there. I have to scroll = down=20 and manually find them myself. This is Entourage version from Office = 2001=20 on Mac OSX. Anyone help?/Got ideas?  - how many is too many recipients. . ? Hello, I send out group emails to announce particular shows. I am only sending out to about 20-30 people, and always get too many recipients. Is this regulated by the email program, or by entourage. If by entourage, how can I change that?  - Cannot use Entourage 2004 sync tool after installing Agendus for Palm. I recently downloaded a trial version of Agendus 8 for my Palm Tungsten T1. After installing I found the Entourage 2004 sync tool no longer would work. The sync log shows that it fails to recognise that it is installed and no attempt to reinstall or tweek with the settings help. In dispair, I blanked the Tungsten and user and tried to sync again. It worked. Installed Agendus. It doesn't work. Have done this many many times and Agendus seems certainly the problem here but Iambic say it's not their problem as Agendus doesn't interfer with the syncing process and simply displays data that has been transfered by whatever. Can anyone help. I like the look of Agendus, but couldn't commit myself to it if I cannot sync the data from Entourage 2004 onto the Palm and back again while it's installed.  - Strange synchronization message I am getting a 'synchronizing offline actions' message every time I click on any email. The box sets in the middle of my email screen until it has finished whatever it is syncing to. This happens whether the email has been read or not. I am using a .Mac email account. Unfortunately, this is the only thing currently keeping me from using Entourage as the default email (and contacts, etc.) product. This is Entourage v.X. TIA!!!  - Entourage identities and mail folders - new Mac convert - Help! I am a new Mac/Entourage, but experienced PC Outlook user, having recently migrated to a mac for graphic processsing capabilities from the world of PC, I need to find a solution to my email problem. The identities solution in Entourage seems to differ radically from that of the PC based MS Outlook. I need to configure Entourage on my G4 Powerbook so that when opening either of the two idenities the same email information, (received, sent etc.), and address book is displayed. As happened when I used my old Sony Vaio Notebook running XP Pro and Outlook 2003. The reason for selecting two identities as a setup is explained below - is this the correct solution? I was used to opening my PC Outlook in two different identities running two sets of accounts; Home and Office, so that I could from home pick up personal email direct from my ISP, and work email via a VPN to the office, or whilst at the office, my work email from a network PC that acts as a mail server, (running a third party mail server program), and personal email from the ISP. It was configured like this with different accounts with different send and receive parameters so that I got around the problem of 'receive failures' popping up on screen. For example whilst at the office if the VPN account was used it could not go out through the hub and back in again to the mail server PC, or at home if the office email server network address was used it would not find it as it would need to go through the VPN first. With the PC all email appeared to end up in the same pst file and thus on was displayed no matter which identity I opened Outlook under. Am I barking up the wrong tree, or do I need to employ a dedicated server at the office running Microsoft Exchange and get rid of Pop accounts and thus pick up email directly from this server from all locations. since we are quite a small company it seems to be a bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut solution in terms of cost, however there will no doubt be other benifits.  - Projects come, projects go I'm a general contractor, and I live and die by projects. The new Project Center in Entourage is demonstrating the potential to change my life for the better, so I'm very interested in making it do everything for me that it is capable of. I had, in fact, already established something very similar by hand, (all documents, spreadsheets, contracts in Word, sales presentations in one folder, email routed to separate folders by rules, tasks sorted by project, etc.) which is quite time consuming to maintain. So far, this is the first issue I may have a problem with: projects end. All projects end, but customers continue to exist. Many of my customers are repeat customers, and when they send me email past the end of a project, I want the email to go somewhere besides the project in the project center. That is, I want the project to continue to exist as an archive of what was said and done, including a record of the contacts, but I want the new business to go to a new project. Furthermore, one customer will (hopefully) be associated with several different projects, and I want email from that customer to go to the correct project, (the current project) and not get sprayed across all past projects. However, I would also like to associate that customer with past projects, so I can keep a list of who was associated with which project.  - Tasks in calendar view Is there a way of customizing the tasks that are shown when you make the Tasks pane visible in calendar view? I have been playing around with this and haven't had any luck. Regardless of which view I have selected when I'm in the main Tasks view, it seems to show all tasks when I switch over to the main Calendar view. Thanks!  - Advance Find Dialog box I frequently search my large e-mail database using the Advanced Find feature in Entourage. Each time, to use my favorite technique, I have to open the dialog, click Add Criterion, change Subject to Body and From to body, before I can enter to two part criteria to search the body of the emails. I was suprised the new version didn't add a feature for saving your search configurations. Is there an applescript that can do this?  - Online status When I copy messages from my exchange account to a folder on my computer, the online status icon persists. I would like to be able to delete copies of messages from the server and have it retained locally or vice versa. Is the message still somehow linked to the server, or is it truly independent?  - Hidden addresses appear in Directory Services I am running Entourage 2004 and when I search the GAL using Directory Services, hidden addresses appear. These are addresses I've specifically hidden from the address book using Exchange 2000, as well as system accounts such as Domain Admins and Enterprise Admins. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to stop it from displaying those addresses? We have hidden addresses for upper managment that they don't want everyone in the company to see. Thanks! I'm receiving a php form order in the mail but the content is displaying as blank in preview window or open mail [or it is displaying as white text on white background] in Entourage.  - Entourage junk-mail not synchronizing to Exchange server properly I'm having a problem with Entourage. I'm using it with an Exchange server, and I get hundreds of junk e-mails daily. Those wind up in the junk e-mail folder. When I run the "Empty Junk E-mail" schedule, Entourage appears to be deleting the junk e-mail, and when it's finished, the junk folder is empty. However, I logged into the Exchange web client for the first time in several days and was surprised to see close to 3,000 messages in the junk folder there, messages that Entourage supposedly had deleted. The Empty Deleted Items function works well, as the messages I deleted also disappeared from the web client.  - Update to Entourage 2004 won't see servers Hi! After recently jumping (happily) from Eudora to Entourage X, I have today updated to Office 2004 and Entourage 2004. I ran the standard Office Install, and the standard Main Identity Import. Problem: Entourage 2004 will not see any pop email servers, even though every setting in account setup is identical to those which worked fine in Entourage X. Any attempt to send or receive mail times out, with an error stating that the account cannot find a server. I have checked my network control panel and very detail is correct. I have removed Office X & prefs, and I have restarted. I still cannot collect or receive email with Entourage 2004. I have now reinstalled Entourage X to send this - it still works fine.  - Entourage 2004 - Sync with Palm - delegate access Here's another detail that is frustrating If I am opening two other people's calendars, I have two new categories in my calendar, one for each person. If I want to synchronize more than one category, I have two options: Synchronize ALL categories or Synchronize ALL except ONE category I DON'T WANT THE OTHER CALENDARS TO SYNC WITH MY PALM DEVICE!!!!!  - Entourage 2004 - Partial Fix for Delegate Access Problem Okay MacBU, I know you've been working hard to bring better support for Exchange Server to the Mac, but there are still many details that are missing or not thoroughly tested. With delegate access, I've found several people already having the problem that Entourage thinks everything is okay, yet nothing synchronizes for the extra account. I have that same problem. I am using Small Business Server 2003. I can get the Delegate access to work partially, only if I turn off "Forms Based Authentication" from the server itself. By partially, I mean, I can synchronize from the server to Entourage, but not from Entourage to the server. My SB Server is setup with the defaults that the Internet Connection Wizard sets up and delegate access DOES NOT WORK with SB Server default settings. I think you should have double checked this before shipping. Please make it a priority. I sell a lot of Small Business Server 2003 servers, as well as thousands of your other System Builders.  - Very slow search in Addressbook I just upgraded to the new Entourage 2004 and am having trouble with = slow=20 performance when searching in my addressbook. It takes 5-10 seconds=20 when I type in a name for it to filter it and the same amount of time = when I=20 clear the search to get back the full list. The problem is not as bad = when I=20 first open Entourage, but after a while it gets pretty bad. I have tried deleting preferences. I have tried repairing the database. The server knows about the folders (if I watch the progress window they keep getting mentioned when mail is checked) but I don¹t see them in my sidebar. The annoying thing is that my rules that transferred incoming mail into these folders are now giving me error message after error message. The message (³? can¹t find destination folder XXX) pop up every few seconds). I would be glad to delete these rules and start over, but I can¹t find them when I choose the ³rules² menu item. I would like to see the sub-folers in my side bar, as well.  - switching Entourage to new computer Hi I just bought an eMac and tried to switch my Entourage 2001 data over from my old iMac (System 9). I copied the Microsoft User Data folder into the same place as it was on the iMac but when I open Entourage it starts as if I were a new user and does not recognize the old identity that I have all my e-mails and data in. Before SSL was required I was able to use the delegate feature and access other users calendar and contacts.  - entourage 2004 and syncing with treo 600 I currently sync quite well with entourage 10.1.4 to my treo 600. I had to download a patch of sorts from microsoft to do it (for any palm device), but it works. Do I need to do anything like that to make it work with the new 2004? Entourage doesn't handle calendar categories for the newest Palm handhelds
(including the Tungsten series). They've changed the applications on the
handheld. Categories should work for contacts and tasks, but you will lose
second addresses, as well as things like IM addresses, as those are not
supported in the older software. Send feedback to the Entourage time (you
can do this from your help menu) if you would like to see this changed. I've
already done so, but the more people that report it, the more likely they'll
fix this.

The Entourage Palm sync can't handle categories in the Calendar application.
Otherwise it should work.
