 - Recent unusual spam messages Has anyone else seen the recent torrent of email spam from someone who is sending out HTML emails that purport to be from Microsoft and have EXE attachments that purport to be security patches? I have been getting these at the rate of 50/day. I've written rules that immediately delete them, but it's getting to be a concern that maybe my address book is infected with something the way it happens to Windows users. Also, I have been receiving messages that are apparently completely empty of all data. There's nothing to view as source, there's no addressee, no sender, no message subject or body.  - Font size of calendar (printing) Alright so i go into settings and change the size and font for printed items under fonts tab to the smallest poss (7) but when i print the month view of the calendar it still prints like 12 or 13 font and if it's a long item it gets cut off where the day ends.  - Automatic compression of attachments When I try to attach a folder it a message pops up and says that I must have Aladdin Stuffit installed on my computer.  - Entourage Password Error I am lost and looking for help. I have a few users on my network that are getting this error message. It says: "The server for your account returned the error 'logon failed--unknown user name or bad password.' Your username/password settings or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?" I've reinstalled Office X and the patch. I deleted the prefs numerous times. I even deleted the account off the exchange server and recreated it. There has to be a file I am missing that is corrupt on the Mac. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? The way I resolved it the first time was to wipe out the mac.  - Entourage problem with SpamSieve System: Entourage X (with service release 1), OS 10.2.8. Problem: Entourage rule does not recognize seems to forget an Apple Script. Details: I am trying out SpamSieve at the moment. The problem seems to be related to how I synchronize my home and office machines. I use the program Synchronize! X Plus to synchronize my work computer with a flash memory thingee (don't know what to call it, but it' not the problem), which is what I transfer the information on, and then synchronize my home computer with the thingee; and vice versa. What I synchronize is my Microsoft User Data folder within which is also included my SpamSieve folder (so that I have the same set of rules for both computers, it is aliased to its proper location on each computer) and my Word My Templates folder. What happens is that when I receive mail the first time after synchronizing to the new machine I get the following message (and for each piece of mail not in my address book): Error: The rule "SpamSieve - Move if Spam" could not be successfully executed. Explantion: The AppleScript could not be found. Edit rule and reselect the script. When I edit the message next to the Script button following the Run Apple Script action says 'none selected' but when I hit the Script button the right folder is there, the proper script (Move if spam) is in it, and when I select it it runs fine. The Word templates work fine and have never caused me problems, so I can't figure out what is going on. Any help is much appreciated (I have sent a similar message to the SpamSieve people, but this seems to be more of an Entourage than a SpamSieve issue to me). -- Robert M.  - Attachment (application\ms-tnef document) Entorage to Entorage When I recieve emails from other entorage users that have attachments in them the attchment shows up as Attachment (application\ms-tnef document) I can reproduce this problem by sending myself an atachment and encode it for any computer.  - Unable to download messages from server Could anybody solve my problem. I am unable to download messages from server which has some attachment of >50 kb of size. Although sometimes it is capable to down > 10 mb of files but last couple of days it is not downloading. I am getting messages : Could not retrieve messages from account <Account name>. explation : The disk is full. I have checked with my server guys, but they also unable to trace this problem. Also checked with cc: guys, they are able to retreive the same messages but I am not. My system as well as in server has plenty of spaces. why this messages "the disk is full" occuring.  - Is there something buggy going on? I've been receiving tons of requests to update/cumulative patch Outlook/Explorer/Express, but applies only to the Windows platform. Also, I keep getting "undeliverable" mail messages for emails I didn't send. They just have the email address in the body of the message and an attachment in the window pane.  - basic setup question I am setting up my Entourage program with my email account from my new website. I thought I set all the ISP parameters correctly, but when I try to send an email, I can see that it is trying to send the email through an outdated email server I entered months ago. I did the set up through system preferences on the internet button, and I also set it up in the Entourage program. Can anyone tell me where else I need to be set up to make this work?  - Entourage has stopped getting my Hotmail For some reason, Entourage stopped retrieving my Hotmail yesterday. Would you like to try re-entering your password?" Re-entering the password makes no difference. I can access my hotmail from the hotmail web page with no problem. My other (non-hotmail) mail accounts continue to work just fine. I am running OS 10.2.8. I updated the Office software (up through 10.1.5) but the problem still persists. I also rebuilt the database.  - Entourage vX sync problem with Treo 600 (Palm OS 5.2.1) Hello... I hope someone can help. I'm trying to sync my Handspring Treo (running Palm OS 5.2.1) to my Entourage vX (v10.1.4), via my Macintosh ibook 800 (dual USB) running 10.2.8 in 640 MB RAM. I have previously had no difficulties syncing a Handspring Visor Prism. With my (new!) Treo 600, I can only sync the Calendar (what used to be known as Datebook on earlier versions of the Palm OS). My Memos, Contacts and To Do List doesn't get transferred. Yes, the conduit is set to synchronise everything. Yes, I have reinstalled the latest version of HotSync Mngr (V3.1). Yes I have reinstalled the MS HandHeld Sync (for 10.1.4). Watching my Treo's display during a Hotsync, the process simply doesn't dwell on the unsync'd (!) elements long enough, although the hotsync log on both devices simply says 'ok' for each sync element. Please, please, please - can anyone help?  - Applescript: Forward message to another ISP OK Paul, here's my problem. I'm receiving spam through one account and need to forward it through another account. I have a working script but it sends the spam to the same ISP it came from which then errors unless I change the account manually. I can say: set newMsg to make new outgoing message at out box folder with properties {account:theAccount} and the new message goes to the desired ISP, but this doesn't work for a forwarded message.  - Problem with one particular email message On my bosses mac, he's got an email message in his in box that he can't read. If he tries to open the message, his Entourage crashes - if he tries to delete it, he gets a message that he doesn't have enough memory. I've tried doing the simple and advanced rebuild, and both times the entire db gets hosed to the point that Entourage says the db can't get recovered - good thing I made a backup copy of all the db files first. He's running OSX 10.2 and Entourage for Office V.x. Personally, I don't like using Mac's because of file and memory management issues (even with the new Unix kernel), but I can't yet convice my boss to switch to Windows XP Professional, even though his productivity gain would be astronomical since he wouldn't have to keep trying to fix these Mickey Mouse problems with his Mac.  - Default Address How do you change Entourage's setting for the default address in the address book. Right now the default address is set for "Word address." I'd like to change that to "Home." Any ideas. I've tried online help and a thorough looking through preferences. The only luck I've had is going through each contact I have and unchecking "default" in the work address pane and checking "default" in the home address pain. Any suggestions would be helpful.  - Insanely Slow Exchange Connectivity I am using Entourage X connected to an Exchange Server. I have a L O N G Lag when ever I select the various folders I have created on the server through Entourage X. Why the lag, when I was using Outlook it worked fine and was snappy and quick. Normally this works ok but every now and then Entourage crashes during the send process after the email is sent when it attempts to copy the sent mail up to the server. Has anyone seen this?  - Entourage Login Screen Keeps Reappearing I recently upgraded my Entourage X to version 10.1.4, since we have an Exchange server environment here for mail, calendar, etc. Since the upgrade, my sign-on screen keeps popping up every five minutes or so, and I can do nothing else until I sign-on again. Obviously, I'd like to be able to log on once in the morning and not do so again until the end of the day. I keep checking the "Remember Password" box on the sign-on screen, and my password is included in Keychain. Before the upgrade, I was using Entourage X v. 10.1.2 as an IMAP client with the same Exchange server and never had this problem. Any help appreciated. I also can't get the Entourage calendar to access my calendar information on the Exchange server. I was really hoping that the new Entourage version would let me do so, but the calendar remains blank no matter what I try. Suggestions with this problem also appreciated. Thanks -- Jerome R.  - Importing folders from Internet Mail through IMAP to Exchange It isn't possible to import folders to exchange within Entourage, or Outlook Express 5.x. The only process that seems to work is manually creating each folder in the exchange inbox, then importing messages from each folder. I'm hoping someone else has come up against this and found a more elegent, automated, solution? P.s. New to the group - apologies if this is an old topic, done to death.  - Daymarker in calendar Hi, When viewing the calendar in entourage X (in workweek, or week view) the current day is marked in a different color to well ehh show which day is the current day. :) However when I check the calendar the next day this 'daymarker' is still on yesterday. When I click month view and then go back to week view the daymarker moved to today. My question: is this just on my powerbook or is this a general bug that this daymarker doesn't automagically moves with the current day ? It's annoying that the daymarker stays where it is untill I switch views from week to month and back. Hopefulle someone knows what this is about. Have a great day.  - print bcc I am running Entourage 10.0.0 on a B&W Mac G3 using OS X 10.2. When I send an email to myself, with a bcc list of, say, six other = people;=20 I want to be able to print a copy of the email (as I have done in other=20 email programs) which shows a complete list of all recipients. The copy=20 I receive in my Inbox, of course, only lists the primary recipient=20 (myself)... but I expect that. The copy that is in my Sent Items folder=20 displays the entire bcc list when I open it on the screen, but = eliminates=20 it from the copy I print.=20 The only way I can get what I want here is to take a screen shot, open = it=20 in Acrobat Reader, and print it from there.  - Entourage 2001 slowness I¹m using Entourage 2001 version 9.0.4 (4011) on OS Z1 9.2.2. Some weeks ago I applied the Office 2001 consolidated updater. Since then Entourage has got very sluggish after a few hours use, although quitting and reloading seems to restore performance for a short while. Also I suspect that since applying the consolidated updater I now have memory leakage from Entourage. Certainly loading and quitting the programme seems to progressively reduce available memory as reported by the ?About My Macintosh¹ window. Doesn¹t seem to be a problem with any of the other programs that I regularly use Word, AppleWorks 6, ClarisWorks 4, Photoshop Elements 2, Print Explosion Deluxe, IE 5.1.7, StickyBrain 2.0.2.  - Sending meetings invitations from Entourage to Outlook Hi all. Is there a way of sending meetings invitations from EntourageX to Outlook 2002 which actually places the meeting in peoples schedules automatically (like when you use OUtlook to Outlook)? Im sure this used to work before but now it just sends colleagues an email with the time of the meeting but does not put anything into their calendars. Any ideas? At least I assume they're phony. I keep reading the advice to change my email address to put, say, "invalid" or add "nospam" or something else to the address to thwart spammers. But how do I do that? As far as I can see, Entourage doesn't have any option to change my email address or account when posting to the news group. In a regular email message I can do that by creating a phony account. Entourage does not have support for synchronizing data between itself and
mobile phones. A third-party solution, MobileSync
<http://homepage.mac.com/jonassalling/Shareware/MobileSync/>, allows this,
but that program doesn't support the phone you are going to buy.

The phone you mentioned is supported by iSync, so yes, you could sync it
with iCal and Address Book. You can learn more about your options and read
a workaround for synchronizing contacts here:
