When I reply to e-mails, the prompt goes to the bottom of the compose
window (under the previous message). I don't like this because the
recipient must scroll down to see my reply. In OS 9 Outlook Express,
my reply prompt went above the previous messages, which I prefer. Is
there a reason why it is different in Entourage, and is there a way to
change it?

It's a preference. These preferences are located in Edit -> Preferences ->
Mail and News under the Reply and Forward tab, under Mail Attribution.

FAQ 98 explains all the options available.

Note: Some lists require bottom posting replies to list messages. Top
replies are used more in a business setting.
