Entourage 2004 does not retain the window position when opening email
messages or replying to messages. They always appear at the top left side
of the screen.

For those with bifocals, this is a big inconvenience to drag each message to
the bottom of their screen.

Is it possible for Entourage to retain window locations?

Open a message window and size it as you like. Now click on the red button
to close the window. Open the message again and the window should reminder
the size.

Next reply to a message. Set window size and close. Now test reply.

Hello.

Yes, you are correct that Entourage will remember windows sizes. The
problem is that is does not retain the window location for opened email
messages.

If you reposition or resize the main Entourage window and quit the
application, that window position and size is retained the next time you
launch Entourage.

The issue is specifically with retaining messages that have been opened in a
new window or when replying/forwarding messages.

I have experiences this on Intel Mac's with Mac OS X 10.4.8 on with
Entourage 2004 v 11.2.5. I don't recall the behavior with other versions.

Be sure to use Help | Send Feedback to let the MacBU know this is a problem.
I would mention the bifocals, as that might make it an accessibility issue,
might up the priority.

I think others have complained as well, and I don't remember reading a
resolution, though you might search the group archives. (the two-monitor
folks find the leap to the top left especially annoying, I think)
Conceivably a script could help--I'd assume if one is out there, it's
mentioned in the archives.

Entourage has been doing this to me intermittently for a while now. I
have Mail, Calendar, Address Book, Tasks and Project Center. Entourage
will either forget the windows are maximized, or the mini-calendar view
will be hidden, or th size of the folder pane will change. It happened
on my PowerBook and MacBook Pro. I am on Office 2004 11.3 and OS X
10.4.8.
