 - Office 2004 for MAC/Using Exchange server Hi, I have a user with OS-X 10.4 using Entourage (Office 2004 for Mac) connected to our Exchange server. The folders window on the left pane lists "Folders on My Computer" and below that the user name associated with their Exchange account where they normally receive their mail. This user belongs a mail group as well, until recently they have never received mail in the inbox of "Folders on My Computer" Now mail is being directed to both inboxes randomly and becoming quite a headache for this user. I have not been able to find any options to disable the "Folders on My Computer" inbox. Also, the Apple Store was not very helpful either. Any suggestions?  - Different address books I need to set up seperate address books. I am having diffiiculties doing this. I was a previous pc user and microsoft outlook allowed me to make different address books. I do not want to confuse my contacts but it only recognizes them in the original address book.  - Anyone using Kerberos authentication with Exchange? We have ran into an issue where the Kerberos password is being remembered even though it is being told not to. We also noticed that ever after deleting the account - the Kerberos info remains... Can anyone confirm this? Or offer a suggestion how to stop it?  - Calendar date will not change from 1970!!!! For some reason when I try and use the calendar to set up an appointment or recurring event the date defaults to todays date (Feb. 8th for instance) 1970. I can type in the correct date or go to it using the calendar icon, it will appear in the field for the date and as soon as I try and save it it changes to 1970.  - HTML format in Entourage 2004 email Hi, when I cut and paste an HTML text from a web page into the body of an email, I am loosing part of the format even if I have clicked the html format. Also if I insert an hyperlink, it is always showing the code behind the hyperlink text. I didn't have this issue qith outlook. Can you help me?  - Entourage 2008 - garbled emails in Sent Items folder when sent from When I send an email from my handheld pda (a BlackJack running Windows Mobile 5) the message is processed through our exchange server and when I view my Sent Items folder from within Outlook 2007 or Outlook Web Access (OWA) the message appears along with all messages I have sent directly from the desktop - there is no distinction between messages sent via PDA and those sent from the desktop. But, when I view my Sent Items folder from within Entourage 2008, the messages sent via PDA (A) do not have a subject, (B) are time stamped at the time I started Entourage 2008 rather than the time received by Exchange server, and (C) are completely garbled with all of the internet header information and all HTML code etc. I have seen a number of others discuss this problem with respect to Motorola Qs and Blackberry's in various forums and no one seems to have an answer. Is this simply another Entourage incompatibility? Is there an Exchange server issue I can ask our IT manager to look into (we use Exchange Server 2003)? I am trying to eliminate Parallels from my life but Entourage is making it quite difficult ;-) Any tips would be appreciated.  - Entourage 2004 Tasks I went to print a daily calendar, which includes a list of tasks at the right. However, among the tasks that appear, there are tasks which I have already deleted or completed. Why do they keep showing up there? I might add that these tasks are no longer listed in the main task list or are correctly listed as completed. So what is the daily calendar populating tasks from?  - Edit subject of received message In Entourage 2004 I used to be able to edit the subject of a received message to make it more appropriate for my filed records. Now in Entourage 2008 I don't seem to be able to do this using the 'Edit Message' function. Can someone show me how to do it or has this functionality been disabled?  - Calendar week view This seems like it should be very basic, but I can't figure out how to do it. When I look at one of the week views, it always shows me all seven days (or five, if I'm viewing work week) of the current week - even if it's FRIDAY. Our campus just switched from MeetingMaker (and glad to be rid of it), but it had one advantage - if I wanted to look at the next several days, it would let me. In Entourage, if it's Friday, I can't look at today and the next several days in my calendar. I have to jump to next week, then I can't see today. Not very convenient for planning out my next several days. The "Next 7 Days" calendar view script that comes with it doesn't work right, because recurring events don't show up on the day they happen - they show up on the day I put them in, which could be months or even years ago.  - Deleting from folders A query for the experts. If I delete mail from entourage folders, they do not appear in the Deleted Items folder. So can they be retrieved?  - lost Imap folders Hello, After a server rebuild I connected to exchange using IMAP and entourage 2004. Almost immediately all my IMAP folders disappeared and my mail was lost. Short of restoring my mailbox on the exchange server is there ANY way possible to extract my messages from my local entourage ( office ) database file. I poked around in the database file a bit and it appears lots of my messages are still there. How can I get them back? Are there any companies out there that specialize in this sort of recovery specific to entourage? Does anyone know what mechanism is used by entourage to remove the folders? I assume they are really still there in the database file but marked deleted somehow or perhaps my entire mailbox was replaced with a new one and what I really need to do is get back to the original mailbox.  - Can I turn off the 'reply with only highlighted text' feature? Hi I'm new to Entourage and have 2008. If I have something highlighted in an email and hit reply, only that highlighted text is in quoted in the reply email.  - How do you import contacts from Mac address book into Entourage Just installed Office and like what I see in Entourage (long for the old days in Outlook since moving to the Mac). Everything imported over, except for the entries in my Mac address book. Tried dragging over, but that wouldn't work either. Is there a way of doing this?  - Exporting contacts by category I have 3000+ contacts and want to export only certain groups as a tab deliniated file. Cannot figure out how to do this. It only lets me export the entire data set.  - Tip: setting font size for newsgroup messages coming from Mactopia If you are using the Entourage 2008 newsreader (haven't tested this in 04) you can set the font for HTML to actually change the font for messages that are coming from the Mactopia interface. For me, they are too small so this option is an eye saver. If there is no explicit font declaration code set in a messages, Entourage can override and use your default HTML code settings. Messages currently coming from Mactopia have no declared setting.  - Entourage syncs all emails to inbox from exchange? I've just recently purchased an imac to compliment my macbook. I have set them both up with entouage and sync to an exchange. However, whenever I open entourage it downloads all the emails from all the folers (including sent items) straight into my inbox! It then takes forever for me to clean it up and works fine.  - Entourage- folder list keeps closing...why? Every time I launch entourage, the folder list is closed. I go to view, then check it and it opens, but closes automatically again forcing me to reopen it upon the next launch.  - Deleting email New to the forum. In Entourage (Office 2004) v11.3.6 running Leopard. I cannot seem to delete certain emails in my inbox. I delete by right clicking then delete, by using the toolbar delete, by opening then deleting, flagging it as Junk then doing a delete, Moving to another folder. They remain in my inbox. I do a Purge Deleted items and they still remain. The problem emails appear to be random (some corporate internal, some from outside, some SPAM that makes itself through).  - No free/busy info for 2003 mailboxes, but okay for 2007 mailboxes I'm using Entourage 2008. We have two Exchange servers - one 2003 and one 2007 with about 1/2 of the office's users on each. I get free/busy info for the users with Exchange 2007 mailboxes (mine is also on 2007), but no info is available for the Exchange 2003 mailbox users. Using either Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007 as the client, I can get free/busy info for everyone, which convinces me that the two servers are replicating properly.  - Entourage & font colour crashes I am using Entourage 2004 on a brand new MacBook Pro running Leopard. When I am writing an email (in HTML) and click on the font colour (to choose to highlight selected text in a different colour) it automatically "crashes" and informs me that it had to unexpectedly had to quit.  - Hide or delete "On My Computer" local mailbox We are moving to Entourage 2008 to replace Outlook 2001 (Yikes! I know!) and actually so far everything is working well except a few of my test users get confused because every now and then they click "On My Computer" for either their mail or calendar which is empty and then think something broke. I was wondering if there is any way to simply delete the local mailbox or at least hide it from view so its less likely to be accidentally clicked.  - Public Calendar Events In our company we have a public calendar set up for all company appointments. If someone schedules an appointment on the public calendar and invites a person to that event, the person receives a notification that they have been invited, but is unable to accept that item so that it shows up on their personal calendar. The options "Accept", "Decline" and "Accept Tentatively" do not show up on the invite. I even tried right clicking on the messaging and choosing accept from the list, but the event still doesn't show up on my personal calendar. Has anyone run into this issue?  - Trouble importing Messages from Apple Mail to Entourage 2008 I've tried to import my messages from Apple Mail to Entourage 2008 however the importing process doesn't grab my mail messages. It moves my notes and to do item, however my email messages aren't being brought over. Is there a manual way to do this? The only way I've discovered so far was to grab each of my messages one at a time, drag it to the desk top, then drag it into Entourage. Surely there's an easier way to do it than that?  - Can't receive email Entourage has never given me any problems. But after I got home today, I went to check my email, and it gave me the error message: Error problem retrieving message Explanation Could not retrieve mail. Account name: "xx Account" Error: -16999 I found out what error -16999 was under an Old Outlook5 troubleshooting site. I went through all there tips, even called my internet provider, they say there is nothing wrong on their end. Even went as far as reinstalling Entourage. But I'm still getting the same error message. I can still send email without problems though. I can't figure this one out. Entourage was working fine yesterday. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. And if I have to dump Entourage, what is the best email client available for the Mac. And how would I be able to import my address book and saved emails from Entourage to the new email client. I just downloaded and set-up Thunderbird. Put in the correct settings for retrieving and sending email. And I'm getting the same problem. Can't retrieve, but can send.  - Inbox Shows Unread Messages That Aren't There I am having a problem where the inbox folder shows 20 unread messages in bold, but all of my messages have been read.  - Deletions that shared users make on entourage don't stick I share my calendar with 2 other users, they are classified as owner of my calendar so they have full access. When they delete an item on my Exchange calendar and I sync my calendar will overwrite the one on the Exchange server and thus add the previously deleted item back on. If I delete an item it will stay deleted and will be mirrored on the shared calendars. Is this a Entourage shortcoming or am I doing something wrong?  - Change the subject of an email In Office 04, you would go to Edit Message in the Message section of the tool bar and then you could change the subject for easier identification/filing of the message..  - Entourage 2004, IMAP, Scheduled Send/Receive Hello. I am using Entourage 2004 (11.3.6), and have discovered an issue with IMAP that I am hoping someone can offer a resolution for, or at least confirm as a known issue. I have a single email account configured for this installation, and it is an IMAP account. I have a send/receive operation scheduled to be performed every minute. The status area in the lower right of the Entourage window shows that the scheduled send/receive is occurring, but no messages that are new on the server are being retrieved by this send/receive operation. Only when I click and hold on the send/receive button, then explicitly select the IMAP account, are messages retrieved from the server. If anyone could point me in the right direction to have the scheduled send/receive operation successfully retrieve new messages, or tell me that this is a bug and I am out of luck, it would be appreciated.  - Removing Office 2008 and reinstalling Office 2004 Does anyone know how to do this. I've tried everything on this forum to sync Entourage with my Palm including purchasing Missing Sync. I now have 10 copies of every item as well as every item moved one day earlier. I would love to get rid of Office 2008 and go back to my stable Office 2004.  - Severe problem after upgrade form 2001 to 2004 Hi, one user was still using Entourage 2001 on OS 9. His old Mac died and now he's got OS X 10.4 and Entourage 2004. We copied the OS 9-disk-content onto the new machine (in fact, it's an old machine (G4), but a fresh installed OS X) and Entourage 2004 found the old profile on first start and imported the profile with no errors. His database was around 1,4GB but somehow clean (last rebuild was around 2 weeks ago). Sending and receiving new emails works, his address book is fine and archived older mail in zillions subfolders is no problem. But: This user has hundreds of drafts with attachments and sent emails with attachments. Every time he tries to view one of those, Entourage stalls and then displays an error that a server could not be found. After clicking OK, the same dialog pops up for each attachment, like 8 JPEG-attachemtns = 8 times clicking OK. The mail then opens, but clicking on any attachments (with the warning dialog about opening attachments etc.), the same happens - server not found, OK, picture opens anyway. It seems that Entourage saved the path to the original file? And now tries to open first the original, doesn't find it (i.e. the old Mac), displays the error and then opens the attached file from the mail? This is very very ennoying and drives the user nuts.  - Entourage locks up when sync with Exchange A week ago I upgraded to 2008 from 2004. everything went well including email transfer. My email is connected to our company exchange server (via web) and at first (about 4 days) everything worked well including synchronization. However a few days ago I started getting the beachball wheel during sync which locks me out from entourage for several mins at a time. Each time I send or move an email the sync locks me out making it unusable. The only way I can work now is when off line and it's a big problem. I have checked the database & even rebuilt it, but no improvement. I have even deleted all my projects as I read on a forum this could be the problem, but still no change.  - Can't get Entourage to sync with Address Book or iCal for iPhone Hi, I've read all the posts, but I can't seem to get my Entourage 2004 to sync with iCal or my Address Book. I am doing this to get everything into my iPhone. I can see the Preference boxes in Sync Services, but when I check them, nothing happens. How does sync services work? Is there a way to start the sync? I have the icon for syncing at the top, but when I hit 'sync now' it neither syncs with .mac or my address book or iCal. I don't know what else to try. I'm trying to customize my toolbar in Entourage 2008. I've added the "refresh" button which supposedly checks for new mail. But it's greyed out and does nothing when I click on it. Does anybody know how this button is supposed to work?

It will work in IMAP folders. Use Send & Receive for your POP3 accounts.
Exchange accounts sync automatically.
