 - Entourage 2008 / Exchange 2007 - Calendar Appointments Not Showing I have Entourage 2008 running on OS X 10.5.2 integrated with an Exchange Organization with mixed 2003 and 2007 servers with my mailbox just recently moved to the 2007 server. I'm a consultant in the Cisco UC and have several project managers and myself who are constantly editing my calendar and have several issues. - When someone else places an appointment on my calendar there is a 50% chance it won't show up in Entourage but it shows up in OWA and Outlook 2007 as well as everyone else is able to see it in their Outlook when they open my calendar. - Sometimes when I accept calendar invites Entourage will show one instance of the appointment but when you pull it up in OWA or Outlook 2007 there are two appointments on the calendar. - When I delete an appointment from my calendar sometimes it doesn't sync up to Exchange and while it shows up gone on my calendar under OWA and Outlook 2007 it's still there (and this is after multiple days of using Entourage with multiple times of synchronizing Is anyone else having problems like this?  - Calendar reminders disappear in Enourage 08, Exchange 07 Hello, I'm using Entourage 2008 (12.0.1) with Exchange 2007 as well as Outlook 2007. If I enter a birthday for a contact via Outlook, a reoccurring calendar reminder is automatically added to my Exchange calendar. As soon as Entourage syncs with Exchange, I get an overdue reminder via MyDay. Suddenly, Entourage wipes out the calendar entry in Exchange/Outlook. This is occurring over and over, no matter how many birthdays I enter into my contacts. I'm certain it's Entourage removing the entires, as its on a MBP and not always running (like my desktop is). Has anyone encountered this problem before? Any suggestions for preventing this from happening? Or do I need to chalk this up to one more reason to not use Entourage with Exchange?  - Exchange calendar issues I am running four devices to an exchange server, a Macbook Pro running OS10.5.2 and Entourage 12.0.1 ( successfully upgraded today after a second attempt with a clean reinstall), a Mac Mini running OS 10.5.2 and Entourage 11.4.0, a windows machine running outlook and a Palm Treo running Good technologies. Until I upgraded my Macbook Pro to Office 2008 everything had worked fine for years. After the initial upgrade to Office 2008 everything worked OK until I started getting the well documented duplication of calendar items and then Entourage 12.0.0 stopped syncing calendar events completely. All the other devices still sync without a problem. After the upgrade to 12.0.1, email and contacts still sync perfectly but calendar events are still not syncing at all. If I input an event on one of the other three devices they all are syncing perfectly with each other. It is very frustrating as I use my MacBook Pro as my main machine.  - Entourage claiming to have blocked an unsafe file attachment. I got an email that has anther email attached to it. Entourage appended the attached email to the bottom of the email. SO there was really nothing BLOCKED. I checked with the sender I know what was sent. Just one email attached to another. This is on exchange and the sender sent email from Outlook. Am I missing something? Why would Entourage not know that this email is not unsafe. To be clear there was no files attached to this email. I've found if I receive an email on one account. Change location and try to reply to that email it tries to send that email from the account on which it was received not the account I've switched to. The size of the file is 2.7MB but when attached to the email the size of the attachment is 3.7MB. Why did the size increase a MB. The file did have pictures included. Can establish a connection with the Exchange 2007 server and OWA works just fine. I have 6000+ messages on the Server and when Entourage starts trying to Receive Email Messages, it just sits there and eventually times out.  - Docked Entourage window Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: pop When the Entourage window is docked it does not come back when clicking on the PROGRAM icon in dock but only on the WINDOW icon at the end of the dock, differently from Word or Excel behavior. Any particular reason for that or just a bug? (By the way it was the same in Tiger). No other problem using the program except a longer time to start up (same for all the programs) in 2008!  - Mail stays in my inbox after I mark it as Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: intel Email Client: imap Hi- I'm using Entourage 2004 on an Intel MacBook running OS 10.4, running IMAP mail, and I'm having 3 related problems. Issue #1 Usually, when I mark a message as junk, it moves into the spam mail folder and I delete it from there. But recently, some emails are getting marked as junk and are staying in my inbox. When I try to move or delete them, nothing happens -- they just stay where they are. I have tried "marking them as not junk" and moving or deleting them, but that doesn't work either. So I can't get rid of the email in my inbox. Issue #2 It seems that some emails that come in (not necessarily junk ones) come in twice as duplicates. And if I try to delete (or move) them, only one deletes and the other stays in my inbox. Again, I can't get rid of the email in my inbox. Issue #3 Some regular emails come in just once, and I read them and try to delete, and the email stays in my inbox - it won't delete. Again, the email is stuck in my inbox. When I log into my webmail, these "ghost" emails (either the duplicates or the ones I moved to trash or marked as junk) do not show up. So it doesn't seem like they're on the email server. Does anyone know what's going on here? How do I get rid of these email? Am I going to have to switch to Mac Mail? I like the integrated solution of mail, a calendar and addressbook in Entourage, but if this can't be solved, I may have to switch. Anyone experience this at all? I presume there is a problem with my smtp server, have consulted my isp (comcast) and tried all of the options they suggest with no change. I get these messages: 5.1.1 recipient invalid domain (even though I know the address is valid) Cannot send mail. The SMTP server does not recognize any of the authentication methods supported by Entourage. Try changing the SMTP authentication options in Account settings or contact your network administrator.  - Entourage, Exchange and Blackberry Enterprise Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange Good evening everyone, Since upgrading to Office 2008 (standard edition) from 2004, about once a week Entourage 2008, Exchange 2007 and my company's BES all stop playing nice in the sandbox together. The symptoms are: Entourage will either stop displaying new messages, or when I delete a message from Entourage, it doesn't really delete (OWA still shows it). Additionally, when i delete a message from Entourage, my Blackberry doesn't reflect the changes to the account. It's like Entourage stops syncing with Exchange. If I delete the identity and rebuild the Exchange account, the problem goes away for about a week, but it's been coming back each week for the past three. Kinda annoying. Any thoughts?  - Office 2008, 12.0.1 Update not so good after all Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange I just run the 12.0.1 updater for Office 2008 and strange things happened after it was done. So far, Entourage 08 uses up around 90% of the CPU when in the foreground (as supposed to about 15% max for version 2004) and it seems to be always busy writing (or reading) something from the main drive. I turned off Spotlight indexing and that did not change anything. Also, when looking at my email list it is constantly "blinking" on and off, as if one of the email messages is being deleted and immediately restored, very rapidly. The account has been on my server for weeks. When I click on a sub-folder (not the inbox), the folder disappears and Entourage crashes. Just before this happens, it looks as if the folder is empty. When I create a new folder through Entourage on the IMAP account, it is there for 1 second and disappears. But, it is created on the mail server.  - Can't send message with only bcc recipients? Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel In the days of Outlook I was able to send an email to a group of people without spreading their email addresses to each other by entering their addresses as Bcc:, with no To: or Cc: recipients. I notice that in E2008 you have to specify a To: recipient, not even a Cc will work alone. I know I can put myself as the To: but just wonder if I am missing a trick here?  - Entourage 2008 not displaying jpg attachments Hi Everyone, I'm new to this Newsgroup so I hope this question hasn't been answered already. In our office we just upgraded to Mac Office 2008. I've been happy with Entourage 2004 but am now on an Intel Mac 10.4.11. I noticed that jpg pictures sent to me do not display in Entourage 2008 even though I've checked "show attached pictures and movies in messages" in the preferences. This is very annoying. Currently I have to click the attachment and look at it with Preview. Interestingly HTML email sent to me displays pictures just fine. Any clues?  - Logon Error and causing problems with Illustrator CS3 Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC I keep getting this error: Mail could not be received at this time. The server for Account (my account name) returned the error Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. Your user name/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password? When I click yes, it tries to get the mail and the same things starts all over again. In the past my IS guy made new user account, checked all the settings were correct and it started working again after I rebooted my system. That hasn't worked this time. What else can we try? Also, often when Entourage is open and I am working in Illustrator CS3, certain functions in Illustrator stop working (trying to drag/copy and drag/restrain specifically).  - FOLDERS DISAPPEAR IN THE FINDER-MAJOR BUG-WATCH OUT!! Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC Email Client: pop The project manager is BUGGY. I have always used hyphens at the beginning of folder names so my active projects stay at the top of the list in the finder, and also in the project manager in Entourage. Entourage 2008 didn't like the hyphens--when trying to assign an email to a project, the pull-down showed only a long line with no type. So I changed the hyphens to a period. Entourage would now display them, but the finder was not able to see the corresponding folders any longer!!!! They also were invisible to Quark Xpress. I was panicking until I realized what the prob was. Once i restored the names, they reappeared in the finder (in fact, I watched them reappear one by one as I made the changes). A typical rebuild failed ("compacting failed") with a message that a read/write error has occurred (-40). An advanced rebuild generated the same message and an additional message that it is likely my database cannot be repaired. I have Office x 2001 and the other programs seem to work fine.  - Can't delete e-mails - please help! My entourage account has some sort of problem that is preventing me from deleting certain e-mails. It is also duplicating a number of messages so that I'll end up with three or four of the same message (at least one copy of which I won't be able to delete). As a result of all this my inbox is getting way out of control. When I access my account online, I don't have these problems - it's just when I am on my normal account.  - Entourage 12.0.1 crashing on rules Hello All, When executing any rule in Entourage, either manually or on automatic send/receive, the program hangs and then quits. Am I the only one with this problem? I can now only use Entourage without rules, but I really need them... Once it had downloaded I restarted my MacBook Pro only to find all of my emails in Entourage 2008 had gone and Entourage itself had been reset.... HELP! How do I get my emails back??  - Entourage 12.01 crashes consistently on adding 2nd attacment Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Power PC Email Client: pop Creating a simple message, adding one attachment (any type of document), then adding a second document. Entourage will crash. It happens on all three of my Macs (iMac G5, Mac mini, Powerbook 12" G4). I removed office 12.01 and reinstalled 12.00 and then updated again: same problem.  - When I log in to Entourage all messages are Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: intel Email Client: pop I have AT&T as my internet service provider. And since I have an iMac and Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac, I wanted to check my mail through Entourage rather than the AT&T/Yahoo webmail. So I set up Entourage. Everything is working fine. However when I open Entourage and receive all of my new messages, they are all marked as "received" at the same time. For example, when I open Entourage I have 10 new messages that are all "Received", Today 8:24 PM. I know these all couldn't have been sent to me at the same time.  - Subscribing to shared IMAP folders Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel All of the tools for subscribing to shared IMAP folders that were part of Entourage2004 seem to be missing in Entourage2008 and I find no mention of the issue in any of the help files. I am trying to subscribe to an IMAP folder created by my assistant but I can't see the folder and can't see how to subscribe to it.  - filed messages don't show in the folder Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Email Client: Exchange When I file messages from my inbox or sent items into another folder sometimes they disapear. When checking the folder the file is not there. Also after I synchronize the folder the message doesn't show up. When I check the same folder in web based outlook it's there. Also when opening Finder / Today I'm able to find and open the message. It just doesn't show in the entourage folder. Does any have an idea how to solve this? If I open the Reference Tools window, everything works fine (Thesaurus, Dictionary, etc...) except the 'Translation' tab. It constantly says: 'Office cannot connect to the Internet....', although there's a connection and all other tools work fine.

What to do?

Hi andy!

Nothing to do. It's broken and Microsoft is aware of it. MVPs have
brought it to their attention.

I had hoped this would be as simple as fixing the website that hosts
Translations but I guess not.
