 - Entourage Junk Mail filter has taken over my mail. Help! I started using Entourage's junk mail filter as an attempt to get rid of a stream of irritating spam/virus mail purportedly from Microsoft. It didn't help. It only labeled the mails as junk, but it didn't do anything. So I increased the level of junk mail rigor using the slider provided in Entourage. Then I found that many of my incoming mails originating from mailing lists were disappearing into the Trash. I added the name of the domain originating these mails to the list of exceptions, but that didn't help. They continued to be moved to the Trash folder. I then tried to move selected items from the Trash to the INBOX, but they keep popping back to the Trash. Next, I turned off the junk mail filter altogether. Surprise: the filter is like the Sorcerer's Apprentice. It continues to do nasty things to my mail even though I have killed it. How can I stop the Junk Mail Filter?  - Recover a contact of the Entourage's AddressBook in Word's macro. Hello, I have a Word macro to recover a contact of the Entourage's Adressbook. It's ok in Word for Windows, but not in Word for Mac OS 9.x/10.x.  - manual receive works, scheduled doesn't Entourage 10.1.0- OS10.3.1 Multiple accounts - all worked well for a while. Needed to change the name/login on one account. Now that account (with the new name) can't connect to server when accessing with the rest of the accounts in the same schedule and at the same server. When the account is launched to check mail manually, it works perfectly. Only when prompted by the schedule does it fail. I even tried removing the keychain (I think) and resetting it. I'm relativly new to Mac so I'm not too sure of all that can/should be done. And I'm certainly not making any new headway with this particular problem.  - Saved attachments on desktop All my received attachments are being displayed on my desktop which is getting crowded. How can I set a location on my HD for all email attachments. These attached files are not ones that I've saved, all attachments sent to me are displayed on the desktop.  - More error -192 Well once again the "phantom" of the -192 error message has reappeared- I have the latest Panther upgrade 10.3.2 (on my 17" iMac) and the latest Entourage version 10.1.4 This latest occurrence had no other prior warnings- the only open application was Safari - after downloading my mail I suddenly received the error message - the icons on the left side would grey out as my mouse moved over them (except the mail icon). I wish I could provide some other clues. Since the 10.1.2 upgrade Entourage has been a bit temperamental. With the multiple messages regarding this error any other thoughts (I am not using Fast user switcher- only user is myself) - could this be a problem with the OS and Entourage?  - How can I delete old calendar items? I have almost 8 years of old calendar items in my Entourage data file. (Most of them carried over from the old MS Mail application.) While everything still runs fine there is no reason to keeping backing up dead material and syncing it to my Palm. I can't seem to find a way to delete just a portion of the old data.  - html form button problem We have a standard html form button on several forms that are emailed to various supervisors within the organization.  - HELP!!! Change recurring appointments in Entourage AFTER key date (and not before)? I'm having a problem with Entourage for Mac, part of the MS Office 2001 (Mac) office software package, that I'm hoping someone can help me with. The "bug": Create a recurring appointment, say for 8 consecutive Thursdays at 3pm (beginning at least two Thursdays ago), and then change the last six of them (those occurring after today) AUTOMATICALLY to a different day/time (not by dragging them one at a time), without changing the first two (i.e. without having to change the entire recurring series). Entourage seems to offer only the option of modifying automatically the ENTIRE series of appointments - not just those after and including a certain date. I need to be able to preserve appointment information for appointments I've already conducted with clients (i.e. the date and time of the appointments that have already occurred), while being able to easily change (to a different date/time, delete them, etc.) all appointments in the series on and after a certain date (but not before that date). The only way I've been able to figure out to do this with the Entourage calendar is to move each individual appointment on and after this key date - one at a time, by hand, not automatically - leaving the other appointments (those that have already occurred) untouched. This, naturally, is prohibitively time consuming, and really should be able to be done automatically (the free Palm desktop calendar, and also iCal in Mac OS 10.3, does this operation easily and flawlessly). Is it possible to do this with Entourage in MS Office 2001 (Mac)? In MS Office X (Mac)? Am I missing something? It certainly SHOULD be possible with Entourage; this seems to be really a very simple and natural thing to want/need to do with appointments in an electronic calendar (the free Palm calendar, and the iCal program in Mac OS 10.3, do it very nicely, as I've said). If it is possible to do this with Entourage, I'm definitely going to want to invest the time and money in learning Microsoft Office. If not, I'll probably have to piece together a bunch of different programs to handle my office software needs. In OS 9, this would probably mean: the old Outlook Express for email and addresses, Word or Appleworks for word processing, Palm calendar for appointments, etc. Or, I may have to invest the money in new hardware and software, and move to OS 10.3: OS X Mail for email, iCal for appointments, etc. This "piecemeal" approach to a workable office software solution would, of course, really be a drag - I really want to be able to take advantage of the power of integration supposed to be possible with Microsoft Office. I'd much rather learn to use MS Office - an integrated office solution (and I hear Entourage really is the best email program for Mac) - if only I could get Entourage to do this VERY simple thing with modifying an appointment series after (and only after) a certain specified date.  - Erratic fonts on viewing new messages (Office X) Recently some of my incoming messages are displayed in bizarrely large fonts - with erratic changes of font in the middle (i.e. suddenly two lines of a very small font, etc.). These are apparently all MIME messages - but Help only explains MIME problems with attachments... these are all the messages themselves. Can't see what I'm supposed to do with this - I've gone through various preferences, and it just appears that some people's formatted e-mails are given truly weird formats in a way that I can't change.  - Strange Actions by Entourage Hi - I have Entourage version 10.1.4. Will be upgrading to 10.1.5 this evening. I have noticed some strange occurrences in the last couple of days. When I am trying to Save update information in the address book it might randomly delete the contact, but not necessarily. Yes - I have confirmed - I am hitting the Save button and not the Delete button. Also - on the Summary of an address - I can see all the Children's information, but when I go into editing portion - only the first child is listed??  - "Reply to all" oddity; server or Entourage?? When I "Reply All" to the Applescript List the duplicate addressee is in the "To" field and the list address is in the "cc" field. This is especially irritating when I have text in the clipboard because Entourage won't let me remove the existing addressee if it's the only one. I end up cutting the cc addy into the clipboard to paste it into the "To" field but then find I've lost the text I wanted to paste into the mail. Ideally I want the List address in the "To" field, not the "cc" field. I wonder if this is a server configuration issue or an oddity of Entourage? -- Gnarlie I think, therefore I'm single.  - how to display e-address in Entourage To:, CC:, Bcc: ? Hi all, Entourage seems to display recipients' names (or, if the recipient is only in a group, the entire group name even though the message is going only to one person) instead of e-mail addresses. I really want to see the full e-mail addresses so I can double-check where mail is going. I can't find any way to get Entourage to change its defaults -- but there must be one. Help?  - Palm sync and entourage versions I have been using Office 10.0.0 and it works fine. When I try to update (10.1.4) using the downloads on mactopia in order to sync Entourage with my Palm T3, it asks for my serial number again which no longer works.  - "Connection Failure" when sending mail When I try to send mail in Entourage through my mac mail I get a message saying " A connection failure has occurred" I have no problems receiving mail. From our Panther MAC's we can see in entourage the inbox-items and work with it... what we can't see is the calendar items... it's not syncronized...  - Hyperlinks created in Entourage don't work in Windows Outlook Express I've recently sent e-mails created in Entourage to Windows users with Outlook Express as their e-mail package. These e-mails contain links to websites. I've tested the hyperlinks in Entourage before sending and they have worked fine. However, the receipients tell me they cannot click on them - instead they have to copy and paste them into their browsers. Some users have reported the hyperlinks appearing just as text with no blue colour or underlining.  - Sort by name error Entourage for Office 2001 using OS 9.2 has started exhibiting problems when sorting by name or during finds by From. Specifically, If I click on the From button in the list pane, the messages all rearrange, but not in alphabetical order. Similarly, using the Filter field (upper right corner) and typing a name of someone who I KNOW has multiple messages in my Inbox, no names show up; at other times the correct name shows up along with others who do not belong. There are only 190 messages in the box, with a couple hundred more filed away in subfolders. I'm now where near my 2GB limit on file size. If I receive an email which contains html, I must go to Network Settings in System Preferences and turn on the http proxy in order to view the email. If I do not turn on the proxy I do not see any html in the received email. With just a proxy for http and https (no proxies for any other service), my email works fine. My calendar, however, does not. I am unable to view people's free/busy (scheduling) data. The error message says that "Scheduling data could not be found" - "Check your Entourage Exchange settings and try again." I have found that if I do not enable the http and https proxies explicitly but I enable the Automatic Proxy Configuration and give a path to a .pac file, my calendar information works. I am able to see other people's scheduling data. However, I am no longer able to view html in my email messages. In Entourage Mail and News preferences I do not have any proxies explicitly enabled (no proxy for web, mail, or secure). These settings work for me if I turn on the http and https proxy settings in Network settings. Here is the quick summary.  - Disappearing Account Settings I'm running Entourage 2001 version 9.0.4 (4001) on OS 9.2.2. I have several email accounts setup including both POP and Hotmail. The settings for one of my Hotmail accounts disappear each time I quit Entourage and at other periods that I have been unable to determine. The account does not disappear from Entourage altogether, rather, it's converted to an untitled POP account with blank fields.  - Receiving JPG and GIF files in HTML emails Hi I am using Entourage on Panther. When I receive HTML emails with jpgs or gifs in then they are not displayed but are shown in the attachments list instead, with a placeholder in the email. I have set the mail preferences for complex html. It seems there are many similar problems that people have. Does anyone have an idea? The feature isn't built into Entourage, as you've discovered. That's likely
because so many programs (including Entourage itself) ignore this header,
largely reducing its usefulness. Regardless, if you want to configure
Entourage to send this header, you can do so following the instructions
here:
