How do I prevent read messages in Entourage Newsreader from
disappearing after 3 to 4 days. I am using the newsreader for an online
college course, and must keep copies of all message received and sent
until the end of the nine-week course.

Thank you.

They are probably being removed from the server. You can copy messages to
save them by selecting them, and then clicking the "Copy" toolbar icon (or
going to Message > Copy To).

You could even create a news rule to make these copies automatically. Go to
Tools > Rules, and then click the "News" tab. Click the "New" toolbar
button. Make a rule that looks like this:

NAME Save College Newsgroup Messages
NEWSGROUP CONTAINS <exact name of newsgroup(s) without angle brackets>
* Execute if all criteria are met
IF All Messages
THEN Copy Message <whatever folder>
? Enabled
