I'm having a really silly problem with the Entourage address book. If I
delete or edit a single contact's e-mail address, and that person is in
multiple groups, Entourage randomly picks the groups in which the change
will take place. For example, if I change janedoe@school.edu to
jjdough@school.edu in her contact, and I have janedoe@school.edu as a member
of 8 different groups, her address is only changed to jjdough@school.edu in
a random set of somewhere between 2 and 5 of those groups.

I'm using Office X 10.1.5 in MacOS 10.2.8.

Thanks!

It all depends how you added 'jane' to the groups. If you added her by
dragging the individual contact entry into the group window, the changes to
the individual will propagate through. If you added her by typing the
address in, they won't (because there is no contact associated with that
entry).
