 - Security Message in Entourage 2008 I upgraded to Office 2008 (Std upgrade) last night. Now when I download email from my ISP, I am getting a yellow band under the From/To area of an email that has an open envelope icon and the words "For your security, Entourage will block submission of this form." II have searched the Help topics area of the program and previous threads on this forum trying to locate the schematics of this "band," which I never had in Office 2004 - no luck, so far.  - Importing into Entourage 2008 I installed Office 2008 today and launched Entourage. I asked it to import my 3.1 gig database from Entourage v. X. It saw it where it had been preserved in the Microsoft User Data folder and agreed to do the import, but claimed it was complete a second later and asked me to click the "finish" button, and it had imported nothing. I tried navigating to a copy of the database on an external hard drive and the result was the same. The Old database had been freshly compacted, with all deleted mail emptied as was suggested on the Entourage Help Blog. Any suggestions? Tag: Problems With Entourage Calendar Tag: 84685

 - Syncing Entourage 2008 with Palm OS I have upgraded from Office X and used the conduit to sync Entourage with my Palm phone. I have been searching for info on how to sync the 2 in 2008, but only see references to 2004 and isyncing with mac programs ical, mail, etc. Is that the best way to do it now?  - Sound Set in Entourage 2008 Gone? Just installed Office 2008 on a 10.5.1 MacBook Pro and working great. Only complaint is other than the opening "chime" all the other notification sounds no longer play. I have restarted, confirmed that the Entourage Sound Set file is still under my Microsoft User Data Folder, but nothing plays anymore. While this isn't a major issue, I am in another part of the office and I rely on the audible notification for new messages so I don't have to go back and check every few min.  - How do I change my status for an accepted calendar event? If I accept an invite and it goes to my calendar, how do I later change my status and notify the inviter? I don't have "accept/tentative/decline" buttons available in the calendar items. For example I want to decline a specific invite in a recurring event, but only "delete" is possible and this does not seem to notify the organizer.  - Syncing Entourage calendars I'm still having trouble getting the Entourage calendar from my main computer (Mac OS 10.4.11) to my laptop (same OS). Someone on this listserv alerted me to the fact that Sync will look in iCal for an Entourage calendar. But I seem to be missing a step that tells it to look for an Entourage calendar. I saw the post from Michel Bintener "Re: iCal sync does not work in Entourage" which almost answers my question.  - More sync hell I've been syncing Ical and Address Book very happily with my Nokia N95 for some time. First sync with Entourage around.... every contact is duplicated. I'd advise any new user to make a backup of address book before syncing and be prepared to go through the tedious routine of resetting the .Mac sync store to get this right. I am OK now. In 2004, if you accepted a meeting, the Calendar the meeting with the message shows up but not the attachment, requiring a user to keep a copy of the meeting notice in the Inbox.  - iCal sync does not work in Entourage 2008 I can't sync my iCal calendar at all in 2008. I have sync turned in preferences. It does not show me any options to choose which calendar to sync. Same on my Macbook. The address book does sync even though that doesn't show up to. I have tried creating a new identity and I get the same thing. At the moment this is unusable.  - Problem with text and XLM file attachments showing inline When I receive email with attachments, they all show up fine with the exception of .txt or XLM files, which annoyingly always appear in the body of the mail. I assume this means it doesn't support WebDAV while the standard edition does.  - Does Entourage 2008 Support Resource Booking? (conference rooms) This isn't supported in 2004, but is a key feature for me to upgrade.  - Sync Palm Treo 700P with Entourage 2004 I have a PowerBook G4 1.25 running OS 10.4.11. Installed on it is Entourage 2004. I recently purchased a Palm Treo 700P and heard that it will sync with Entourage. What I have tried has failed. I downloaded Handheld Sync Installer but when I try to install it I am told the installation failed because the Microsoft Component Plugin was not found. If I do a search for the Microsoft Component Plugin I can locate it in: Applications > Microsoft Office 2004 > Office > Microsoft Component Plugin. Is this in the wrong place, do I need a newer updater? This one seems old from I believe 2002 or sometime a little while back.  - Synchronization still lacking According to Microsoft's site, Entourage 2008 will not be able to synchronize the following items with an Exchange server: Server side Rules Notes Tasks Categories Contacts' e-mail addresses limited to first three entries Travel time in calendar items Excuse me, but for being an application that is geared toward corporate entities I believe this is a very large short-coming. I work in an IT department and am always going between platforms. I need to have the ability to see ALL of the items that I input all the time. In my line of work, there is no exception to this. Daily tasks can change on an almost hourly basis. I am very dissatisfied with the fact that these items have been left off. This seems to depreciate the value of Entourage as well. If it was not for the fact that I still need to use Entourage for calendar support I would stop using it now as there is no other compelling reason. There also appears to be some issues of loss of information when synchronizing to Exchange. For example, the Contacts' mailing addresses being limited to only the first three entries is a limitation. This loss of information could lead to an e-mail not getting to the person in a timely manner. For example because only the first three address are synchronized, If I'm off site and need to e-mail my supervisor something, I should not have to make sure that the e-mail address he/she is at is listed at is one of the first three on my office computer. Travel time in calendar items is also a big missing feature. If I put travel time down for commuting from the main building to another site and back again, how are others going to know not to schedule an overlapping event? To date, I've had to contend with putting in multiple events to overcome this shortcoming. I was very much hoping that these issues would be address with this version, but they have not. I just hope that these issues are resolved in a timely manner and full synchronization support that is available in Outlook 2007 for PC is made available for Entourage 2008 for Mac.  - entourage e-mails won't send Yesterday I attempted to download the Microsoft office 2004 update 11.2.3 to sync entourage with my address book, but when I reached the installation stage, I was told that the software to be updated couldn't be found.  - Changing default language in Entourage I use Entourage to write e-mail in English and Latvian, but have English specified as the default language, but for some reason, Entourage has decided to display my calendar in Czech. I don't speak or write Czech, nor do I want to (though I now know my months and days of week in Czech), so how do I get my calendar back to English?  - Syncing Entourage calendars between computers I have two Mac OS X computers (10.4.11). I've managed to learn how to sync mail and contacts. Is it or is it not possible to sync Entourage calendars? I've read the Andy Ruff article as well as everything else I could find. I'm coming to the realization that I can only using iCal as a calendar function if I want to sync. I need the complexity of Entourage's client management system and project tracking that iCal doesn't have. If it is in fact impossible to sync Entourage calendars, could someone please tell me what my other options are? Do I need to get a hand-held device and do the fire wire thing every evening or what?  - Entourage Keeps Freezing Hi, I have Entourage 2004, 11.3.6, OS 10.4.11. I have not changed anything on my computer but suddenly Entourage has begun to regularly 'hang'. I'll tell it to check messages and it just spins supposedly checking until I have to force quit. When I hit Apple+Alt+Esc, it says 'Entourage not Responding' next to Entourage. If I quit and restart the program it's fine... until it happens again. I've had a couple weird things happen on my Firefox 2.0.0.11 too (starting around the same time). Could I have picked up a bug? I have restarted the computer, I have cleared my browser cache, and I tried to use the Disk Utility to 'fix' the weirdness but 'repair disk' does not come up as an option. Please Help!  - Duplicate Emails I've been using Entourage 2004 for almost a year with no problems. Now all of sudden one of my email address is somehow duplicating my emails that come in. I'm running Leopard, upgraded about a month or two before this started. I have almost 10 different emails coming into Entourage and I only get duplicates for my main one. Everything else works fine, please help! I know it isn't gmail that's causing the problems because all my other email addresses are all ran the same way. I tried creating a new identity and that was a disaster. I've also tried moving everything over to Mail, all of my emails showed up but when I tried to open them they were blank. Am I going to have to live with these duplicate emails? Tag: Problems With Entourage Calendar Tag: 84522

I have mac: office 2004 Student/teacher edition. I cannot seem to be able to do the following: 
1.I click on a time-slot to create an event, but cannot enter text. The only way that I can create an event is to double click the time slot which opens up another window to create the event. 
2. I cannot drag and event from a specific time slot to a 'no time' slot.

This is not a feature of Entourage 2004 but is a new feature in
Entourage 2008.

Can you explain? What is a 'no time' slot? You can create an all-day
event and set your status as "Free", but you can not create an event
without a date at minimum.
