I cannot forward messages for some reason. I have to paste text into new mail message and then it goes smooth as butter.
I have OS X 10.4 and am using satellite for ISP.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi JT!

You've told us you have a problem but you haven't told us what happens
when you try to forward a message. Can you elaborate a little?

I get an error message that "the server is not responding" and has timed out. The message never leaves the outbox. Every time I paste the text into a new mail message it goes right out.

It does not seem to have anything to do with attachments. As I said I am using a satellite service which has absolutely horrible customer support and it may be an issue on their end, I just never noticed it when using Mac Mail but have noticed this issue with Entourage.

Thanks,
JT

Occasionally, I get a message that will not send. I copy/paste into a new
message and off it goes. This is pretty rare.

I suspect it's your connection. Entourage seems to be more sensitive than
Mac Mail is from what you describe. You could monitor the traffic between
Entourage and your satellite provider to see what is failing. It would help
you decide if staying with Entourage is an option.

Test your network with tcpflow. See directions here:

Another application I ran into recently that does the same thing but has a
different interface.

EavesDrop....Let it capture some stuff then double-click any of the lines of
text in the main window to see more detail.
