 - Reposting the question re: Insertion Point I have a problem with Entourage 2004. The addresses and the subject line is "Right Align" when I start composing the e-mail. I posted this problem yesterday but hasn't seen it on the board. I wish I can send a snap shot on this forum.  - Palm Calendar and Sharing Hello, I have two issues with Entourage 2004. - I would love to know the easiest way to import calendar info from my Palm Desktop software. - Is it possible to share projects (and related files) with PC users? Would they need to have Office 2003? So far I've tried sharing with someone who has Office 2002, and it didn't seem to work (although I could have been doing something wrong).  - Copying Calender events? I'd like to enter a few similar calender events in Entourage, but not by making them recurring. (The events have different starttimes and lengths, etc..) I tried Copy & Paste, but that doesn't seem to work. Does anyone have a suggestion how to do this in an EASY way??  - Feature Request Project Center Entourage 2004 Hi, i'd like to raise my voice about something i think is lacking in Project Center. Currently ProjectCenter does not allow for Synchronisation of Email in Projects. I can understand the reasons for this limitation if someone does Pop only Email. In my case, i am exclusively on IMAP accounts and any machine i can access, has access to the same IMAP Accounts. In this scenario, it should not be impossible to also Synchronize Email Messages. As we know the IMAP-Account and have the IMAP Message-ID, this is all one needs to Sync emails associated to a project IMHO. This shouldn't be too hard to do - not harder than synching files IMHO.  - Entourage 2004 and exchange queues Hi, I have been testing Entourage 2004 before it gets rolled out in our = company=20 and all seems fine except for one big problem. When sending mail through our exchange 2000 server to remote users over=20 smtp mail randomly gets stuck in the queues. ! This is only happening = with=20 the Entourage 2004 clients.=20 Any other app like Mail.app from the same user mail flows just fine.=20 This is a weird one because the client app passes the mail fine to tyhe = server=20 but then you get a NDR days later form the server.=20 Like I said the same mail from the same user to the same remote address=20 goes fine.  - time zone problem I'm using entourage 2004 with Panther on 2 different computers (iMac and G3). I'm using the time zone of Jerusalem, and everything seems to be configured ok (on the system and on Entourage). the problem is that all the events in the calendar are 1 hour later then the times I inserted.  - font reunion I am having trouble with fonts not displaying by their font family in = both=20 Entourage and Word (Mac 2004). I only have this problem in these = programs=20 - no other.  - Problems importing my database!!! Hello. I am having similar problems to the ones posted here. I recently purchased Office 2004 because I was excited with Entourage's new Project area. Ironically, it is with Entourage that I'm habing my problems. I installed the software in both my Titanium G3 Laptop, as well as my dual G5 tower. I have tried rebuilding ny database, copying my old identities inside the new Microsoft User Data folder created, veryfing and compacting my databases... you name it! This is a process I'm very familiar with, as I have often imported old identities into newer versions of Entourage, and it is the first time I have tried left and right with NO SUCESS WHATSOEVER!!! I am really upset at the fact that I am sometimes able to export settings and folders, but none of my old emails which I desperately need to keep. Meanwhile, I am using Panther's Mail application (which mirrors what's on my server) and it is soon going to get packed if I don't resolve my Entourage problem and finally download all my emails to my harddrive.  - HotSync Problems I have been following the issues related to hotsync with the Palm. My T3 synced fine until I installed Microsoft Office 2004. I spent a considerable time on the phone with Microsoft support who told me there was nothing I could do. I opted to go back to Microsoft Office X, but that does not work as well.  - Can I... "redirect to..." ? Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to redirect 350 mail items sitting in a subfolder to a specific address. I guess I could make a rule and apply it to all messages, but is there a way to "redirect to..." similar to Eudora?  - Sending email to all addresses within contact When I compose a new mail message, and I click on a contact from my=20 address book, how can I get all email addresses associated with that=20 contact to be put in the To line, instead of just the one address that = is=20 marked as the default address.  - Entourage - Connection Failure IMAP OK. I finally got entourage to connect to the company Windows mail server after debugging and ultimately putting the IP address in the IMAP server field instead of the server name that my IT guy kept suggesting. But this week he upgraded from Win2K to Win2003 Mail Server he also changed the server IP address. He told me to just update my IP address in my account.  - 16008 error I receive a error at least once a day when using Entourage. It says the = error=20 code is 16008. Once i receive it, I can no longer use Entourage without = logging out and back in. When I reply to a message (and include or "quote" the original message), = my=20 default signature and the cursor appear at the bottom of the message,=20 rather than the top.  - Entourage 2004 and Synchronization Window I have noticed several posts about Entourage 2004 and the Synchronization window. I seems like the fix is just to close the window.  - Entourage 2004 Message Viewing Options I like to read the list of emails with the newest on the bottom (sorting triangle in sent column pointing up). When I start Entourage the emails are sorted properly but the focus is on the start (the oldest emails) not the end which are the most current. When I open Entourage after its already been started the focus displays on the bottom of the list as I desire. Is there any way to set this as the default when starting Entourage? Also, anyone else disappointed that toolbars are not customizable? I would love to add an empty trash icon.  - Moving Entourage to a New Computer I just bought a new iBook G4 and want to move my Entourage information from my old G3 Powerbook to the new machine. I've copied the Office X folder itself using a FireWire connection, but now want to bring my old e-mail, contacts, etc. over as well. When I try to "Import," there's no option for importing from the same version of Office X. I've seen a workaround for Contacts, but nothing about the old e-mail itself.  - Entourage Sending Messages, but Not Receiving. Hello, Stranged problem just started to happen on my MAC. I'm running OS 10.2.8 with Office X. (not 2004). Last Friday I was able to send an receive mail just fine, then suddenly when it went to send and receive, it froze up. I tried things manually after Force Quitting and I was able to send, but not receive. I don't get any error messages, nothing. It just sits there until I force quit. According to our network administator, all my network and account settings are correct, as they should be. I didn't do anything to them! I ran Disk Doctor, First Aid, uninstalled the entire Office X suite, reinstalled it, deleted an old 2001 folder with an old identity in it and it work fine the rest of the day and then again this morning, but NOW, it's not working again. I don't have a clue what to look for now. The tech guys I work with are PC/Windows guys so I don't want them to start monkeying around with my MAC. I've tried everything I can think and was hoping for another idea here on the boards. I'm also going to try the Apple boards, as their response time seems to be soooo much quicker than this one.  - This Project is Done - Now to make it go away... Actually, I'd just like to file it. Or note somehow that it's "done". And unchecking the due date doesn't do either of these things, and doesn't record if we hit the deadline or missed it. I've tried "archiving" - but the project still sits there. I'd like to have an accessable record of what was said and done, with all of the great filing capabilities of the Project Center (folders on the desktop, etc.) but projects (at least in my company) come and projects go, except in Microsoft Entourage, where a project, it seems, is forever there, getting one more day overdue every day. Is there any possible way to do what I'm asking here? It seems so simple, yet so elusive... Please note: renaming "Project 1" to "Project 1 - Done", unchecking the due date, and deleting things individually off the file system is NOT a solution. Thanks for any and all responses.  - Safe Domains - Where are they stored? I'd like to be able to add safe domains programmatically (if possible) instead of having to type them in manually myself. For example, I'd like to be able to select a message and choose "Add to Safe Domains" from the Scripts menu to run an AppleScript that would get the domain of the selected message and add it to the Safe Domains list. So the question is: Where is the list of safe domains stored, or how can I manipulate them outside of doing it manually?  - Making Entourage truly the default I am using Entourage in the OS X version. I have selected Entourage to be my default email program in preferences. However, when ever I try to use an email link that comes on a website or in an email, what comes up is my old Mac Mail program.  - hyperlink on jpg in custom signature?? hi there, I have version 11.0 Entourage for Mac. I am trying to create a custom signature and am using a .jpg in it. I would like to have that .jpg be a hyperlink when the user received my email and clicked on the .jpg.  - Exchange server (OWA) syncing quits When I set up Entourage 2004 to access the Exchange server at work via=20 Outlook Web Access, it works fine at first, and it might work for a day = or=20 two, but then it just stops syncing.  - osx to 2004 lost links I just got office 2004. I have office OSX. When I installed Office 2004 all my links were gone. I had "Automatically link messages to the contacts that send them" preference checked. When I called MS they said it would be lost during update. That is hard to believe. I see no others writing about this problem. I did try Paul's solution (dragging the mbox out, deleting and re dragging it in) This worked for saved emails, but the "sent" emails are still no longer have links.  - Mac HD crashed, need to recover email messages My hard drive has an error and I need to erase it and reinstall. but first I want to get all of my old email files out of Entourage.  - Bcc myself automatically? In Entourage 2004, is there a way to BCC myself automatically each time I create a new message? I know, of course, that I can do it manually each time but it would be nice to have it done for me each time as it was in Apple's Mail. (I BCC myself on each piece of sent mail so that I don't have to worry about syncing my laptop and desktop computer's email. I have a Rule set up to save these messages in a separate folder.) Thanks!  - Success transferring PST file information from Outlook to Entourage Well, it has been a nightmare, but I have finally been able to transfer my PST file information from Outlook on a PC to Entourage 2004. Note: I have a total of about 100,000 email messages, 2000 contacts, and 30,000 calendar items spread over several archive files and my current PST file so this was no fast or easy task. Transferring the contacts, taks, notes, and even calendar items was easy using Paul Berkowitz's scripts, thought I had to turn of checking for duplicates as that made things take many hours instead of minutes considering the large number I had to deal with. Transferring email was the really tough nut, and I would not call it 100% cracked (See below). Basically, I had a friend set up an Exchange Server on an old PC. We then copied over my PST files and got them into that server. Once there, we "simply" had to download them via exchange server to Entourage and (as backup) Mail.App (Apple's Mail client). Well, I will tell you this, Entourage's interface with Exchange is EXCRUCIATINGLY slow and stupid. It has a bizarre mind of its own and seems to start downloading and stop downloading (synchronizing) message from the server. When I monitor the netowrk traffic, it is only using ~1%... and often zero as it "waits" between downloading sessions. Even at full speed it only downloads about 5 MESSAGE A SECOND! You do the math when you have 100,000 (ok, I will, it will take 20,000 seconds which is only ~6 hours). However, due to its insessent stopping (for not apparent reason -- and you cannot "force" it to get going) it will actually take more like >6 DAYS. Fortunately, Mail.App is faster and smarter and downloading from an exchange server. We were able to download all of the mail in less than one day. It even retains all of the read/unread information, etc. Since Entourage has an ability to import mail from Mail.App, that is how I have been able to transfer everything in. HOWEVER, this importing process DESTROYS all read/unread information... Not knowing why it did this, I decided to test Entourage by exporting a small mail folder with read and unread message to an *.rge (entourage archive) and then re-imported it. Sure enough, Entourage CANNOT even import its own files without DESTROYING the read/unread information (hence the "not 100% cracked" comment above). *sigh* At least I have all my messages. In the mean time over the next week or so I will see if Entourage can't download all of my messages directly from the server... *sigh* again.  - Entourage 2004 & Hotmail After upgrading to entourage 2004 from version X, I could no longer get=20 mail from Hotmail. All it returns is "unknown error -3210". (I am using the new msn-hotmail system as suggested already. working = fine=20 with Entourage X) Try to uninstall office and reinstall office with no use.  - timeout error 111 att secure server with Entourage 2004 when attempting to receive mail from att secure = server=20 (ipostoffice.worldnet.att.net). It attempts to download messages or = update=20 the message list for exactly 3 minutes and then gives me a 111 timeout=20 error.=20 When I originally set up Entourage X it did the same thing but didn't=20 timeout, it chugged for about 5 minutes, updated the message list and=20 never had the delay again. It seems to happen just the first time you = set up a=20 new a account or migrate to a new machine.=20 Its driving me crazy, does anybody have any ideas.  - Entourage XP and Exchange Server 2000 Dear Newsgroup, I am connected to my companies Exchange 2000 Server by VPN. Everything works well. In addition, I installed my private POP3-Account, which is also the default account for Entourage. But when I new mail is sent to my companies account, Entourage puts the incomming mail not in the Inbox-Folder of my Exchange-Account, instat it appears in the inbox of my POP3-Account. I recently upgarded to MAc OSX and the new version of Entourage, and I
sorely miss one feature of the OS9 version:
In Entourage for OS9, I could have different preview pane settings for
different folders. I.E. I preferred not to have a preview pane for my
Inbox so that I would not have to preview Spam. But I liked having the
preview pane for my folders into which I would sort my already-read
non-spam email messages.
I cannot figure out a way to do this with Entourage 2004 for OSX
version 11.0.0.
Any Suggestions? (I know about the keyboard shortcut--call me lazy,
but I'm looking for a way not to have toggle back and forth)

Create a custom view. It looks like the setting for the preview pane of
custom views is indepenent of the mail folders.
