 - Entourage 2008 and Exchange 2000 Hello, I am having a strange issue. We have an exchange 2000 server which will be upgrading here soon. We have a MAC user that uses Entourage 2008, well it syncs fine and looks like it is running great. We have noticed though that it isnt receiving all the email. It doesnt receive half the sharepoint announcements or even some email in the internal contacts. So we have to load up OWA once in while to see what emails he is missing. It doesnt make much since to me. I have added the internal domain to safe senders to see if that would be the problem, but that didnt seem to help, any ideas?  - Entourage OSX rebuilds don't seem to work Hi, my e-mail capacity was 3ish gigs, but last night, I suddenly couldn't attach a couple of documents to an outgoing e-mail. I quit Entourage and started a typical rebuild. The message came back, telling me there was not enough room to rebuild, even though I have ample space on my hard drive. I finally ditched 12 gigs of stuff and was able to do a rebuild. I've done both typical and advanced and each time, the message comes up to compact my e-mail because I have reached the 4 gig capacity. It won't let me into my e-mail so I can dump some stuff.  - Entourage 08 Tasks Whenever attempting to create tasks in Entourage 08, the app attempts to set start and due dates in 1970. I've tried to change the dates, but it will not let me, and when I save the task, it says, "You're trying to enter a date in the past, are you sure you want to continue?"  - Mail merge through Entourage Hi, Today I wanted to mailmerge a document and send it via Entourage to my contacts. But when Entourage attempt to send off my emails, then the error -17099 (recipient email must contain a domain) and -3260 (Entourage can not connect to the server, Verify that your computer is connected to the network) occur. What is a girl to do? I have contacted my ISP who says that I should be able to send up to 15 emails at a time, so the number of emails does not seem to be the problem. (that should be error -17009 solved?) I can send single emails directly using Entourage, but when I get a reply and then want to respond to that reply, then I'm told that there is a relay problem.  - saved messages gone while updating I bought another copy of Office for Mac (2004) so that two people can use office on our network and thought I had saved messages on my computer but when I started up new copy none of those messages would import. I can't find them anywhere. Were they overwritten? I tried dragging Office out of the trash and putting newer copy into trash, starting Entourage. New screen, all messages seem to have vanished. I neglected to check the box "save copy on server" (although I have done that now!) so that's not a help. Any ideas where these messages may be found or are they really gone?  - Bad Syntax Error -17099 I am using MS Entourage 2004 on OS X and am receiving the following error when I send/receive: Bad recipient address syntax. Explanation: Mail could not be sent. Error: -17099 I know the email where the bad syntax occurs, however I already deleted it from my Sent folder (and also from the deleted folder) in order to resolve the error. I STILL get the error and am unable to find the "problem" email since I deleted it. Is it still haunting me from beyond the deleted files grave? Is there a script I can use to turn off this annoying error, which occurs every time I send/receive? I've scoured the Internet for an answer but came up empty handed. Thanks in advance for your help.  - Exporting entourage calendar to exchange We recently installed an exchange server and I am in the process of getting everything moved and set up on the server. I am currently using Entourage 2004, V 11.4.0 and can't figure out how to export or move all of my historic, current, and future calendar entries to the exchange calendar. I tried doing an export and selecting only the calendar but it returns an error (something about group contacts) and will not complete the export.  - Entourage 2008 Sent Mail not Syncing with Exchange 2003 Server I recently upgraded my laptop to Office 2008 - and am now finding not all my sent mail syncs to the server. It shows up on my laptop but when I go to the desktop, it's gone. I leave the machine connected - and it says its done syncing. I'll notice pieces of mail get there, but large chucks are missing. The problem is as follows: The problem is arising when I (1) send mail from an email client other than my copy of entourage on my work mac, and then (2) open up entourage. so, for example, I sent this message below from my treo at around 11:30am, and then came to the office and launched entourage at 2:10 pm. As Entourage does its initial sync with the Exchange server something's going wrong. The sent message is already resident on the Exchange server (having been sent earlier from my treo), but it isn't syncing down to Entourage properly.  - I receive an error message Hellp! I've got Entourage X for Mac on my powerbook G4. One day it was working fine, the next day when I came to collect my emails as it was opening it up I got a message saying "the application Entourage has unexpectedly quit", which it did. I opened it again and got a message "the action cannot be completed. Mail error". I can actually open it, move around in my inbox, sent items etc, and can also access the internet. I've also just found (after a morning of TEARING MY HAIR) that I can even send and receive mail by using the Entourage tool bar at the very top of my screen and my keypad keys, but what I can't do is use the reply, forward, delete etc buttons as normal. They aren't grey, they look normal, they flash when I click on them, but nothing happens. I can't get phone help as X for Mac is no longer supported by phone, so I've gone to the Microsoft support website and found an article which seems to be talking about exactly my problem. This advises me to first to try running a "typical rebuild of identity" by holding down the option key, double clicking the Entourage X icon, clicking typical rebuild, clicking ok. But I have no option key! I gather from an apple forum that this should be two keys left from the spacebar, with alt at the top (mine does say alt on it but doesn't say option on it - none of my keys do.) I've tried holding this key down and double clicking the icon but all it does is open entourage. Try as I might I can't find a box that says typical rebuild in it. Any ideas, before I'm completely bald? Thanks very much and sorry to go on so long....if I can't sort it I guess I just carry on using my email but the long winded way I've just found, but think I should try to sort this if I can....  - Exchange 2003 performanace issues with Entourage Clients We currently have an issue since move mailboxes from one Exchange 2003 server to another. This was due to the need to upgrade server hardware. We have 22 Entourage users that are scattered across two Information Stores. 10 on the first store and 12 on the second store. We are getting very high disk writes on the second information i.e. the store with 12 entoruage users. The first store is unaffected. We have investigated that the issue is caused by the Entourage users by asking all Entourage clients to disconnect from the Exchange 2003 server. We have then asked them to connect to the server one by one. We have found that with one of the Entourage users connected, they cause high disk writes. This has been mointored using PerfMon. This is effecting the performance for all users with Outlook clients complaining of slowness when switching calendars or shared mailboxes. We have researched this issue and I must say it is a common one. The article:- http://www.macwindows.com/041107d.html states that the issue has arisen due to the move of the entourage user mailboxes as there email has not been converted to Non MAPI hence causing high disk writes as each mail is read everytime it is accessed. We have followed through all the fixes listed and have got some improved performance but the issue is still not resolved. Can anyone please advise on any steps to take to resolve this issue.  - Entourage 2004 crashing with Exchange calendar after 10.5.2 update Hi folks - hope you can help. I've had Entourage 2004 talking to my workplace's Exchange server for over 12 months, pulling down my email account, plus a number of shared calendars and a shared address book, with little/no problems. Last week, after installing Apple's 10.5.2 Leopard update (along with the Leopard Graphics Update), I opened Entourage to find a problem with the database, and duly rebuilt as per the program's instructions. Ever since, having re-synced with the server I have all my emails but the program instantly locks up if I try and access the calendar (using the Calendars button). Everything, including the Progress window, freezes where it was and the only way out is a restart. Trying to restart straight away just locks up on the opening pane (before the main window opens), and if I leave it a while it comes back. I've tried removing Office and reinstalling, with a brand new identity etc, all Sync Services are off, and still have the same problem. Is this a fault with my software, or with the calendar I'm trying to pull from the server? I'm currently stuck with the less-than-satisfactory webmail access for my calendar. Help!  - HELP PLEASE - Entourage SUDDENLY stopped receiving mails? Hi I have been using Entourage with my Exchange account for about 8 months, through both Entourage 2004 and now 2008 and it has worked flawlessly. Today however for no apparent reason I sopped receiving email into my Exchange inbox. All my other accounts seem to be working fine and I can still SSEND emails from my Exhange account. Just nothing coming in. Both Webmail and Outlook running under VMware prove I DO have inbound emails but they are not arriving in my Exchange email folder. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!  - remove calendar icon from toolbar and left side menu I am a new user and there are a lot of things I like about Entourage but all I want is an email program, not a calendar or to-do list. This seems to be a little bloated, sort of like the old WIN Outlook and what I want is Outlook Express for the MAC. So, how do I remove the icons mentioned in my Subject line?  - display name incorrect on outgoing emails Hi, I recently installed entourage on our new MacBook. My husband uses an alumni forwarded email account as his main contact email and has this forwarded to his gmail account. I have properly configured his email account to get the mail from Gmail, but I have also tried to use the alumni account as the official display name on the account. I assumed that setting this in the main account info (Name, Email address) should have taken care of this (it does in Outlook) but I added a reply-to header just to be safe. Now, the display name lists the gmail address on all sent mail and also includes the reply-to header. My husband really doesn't want people having access to the Gmail account since he uses the other profile as his main point of contact. Has anyone run across this problem?  - Once again problem with Entourage Database Rebuild Hello Two days ago I had a bad thing happened to me. I use Leopard - erase & install and Office 2008 - Office was not updated with it's newest update yet. I restarted my Mac and when wanted to launch Entourage it showed database error and asked me to rebuild it. I tried to do this but when i got to 4/5 step in about 80-85% it shows error. My database is 4.09 GB. I tried to rebuild it about 5 times and it always shows error at one the same point. Compacting also comes up with error. One time while doing a rebuild Database Utility went down without deleting a 'Database (rebuild)'. I got back about 3.24GB of all Database. I changed it's name to Database and put in a Main Identity folder. It worked but very many mails are missing and Entourage is working very very slow. I can not loose that much of information and really need to use the old database. What can i do in this case because all I got is my old Main Identity and old 4.09 Database which was backed up. I can not run Entourage on the old 4.09 GB Database at all. I've tried all kinds of tricks with importing to other programs but none of this worked..  - Entourage and a VPN My client, an MIT phd in computer science, helped me set up my new airbook. I am new to macs and switched because of the constant crashing. Because I work in a Microsoft exchange server enviornment, I needed his help. One problem I am having is with remote access via VPN Tracker 5. I can see all files which reside on the g drive, but when I go to email a document via Entourage, the document is saved to my airbook so Entourage does not permit me to email it. I work around with my .mac email. The problem is that some recipients end up sending the email to spam.  - Contact Duplication in Entourage 2008 When syncing my iPAQ 4350 with Entourage 2008 V 12.0.0 using Missing Sync V 4.0.2. The contacts are being duplicated every time I sync the device to my computer.  - Question on the "To:" field in e-mail messages My friends tend to send me a lot of mass invites. However, unless I actually click "forward," I can't find a way to view all the recpients of the original message. I'll just get a little yellow box saying "__ more recipients," but I can't actually scroll through the list of addresses. This is pretty annoying since every other mail program I've used has never tried to compact or hide the addresses of all recipients of a message.  - Mail Notification I currently use Office for Mac (Home and Student Edition). When I get an e-mail (and Entourage is open but I am not working in the program), an envelope shows on the Entourage "e" in the Dock letting me know that I have mail. This is better for me than a pop-up notification because the pop-up notification goes away quickly and I won't see it if I am not looking at the screen at that moment. I have played around with Office for Mac 2008 on my son's computer. It appears that the envelope of the Dock notification is no longer available. Is this correct?  - Links don't develop??? That may not be an accurate title. About half the time I download email using Entourage (Microsoft Entourage X for Mac Service Release 1, Version 10.1.6) I get a symbol for a link that, if things worked correctly, should develop into a picture. That fails to happen. I'm using a G5 (1.6 Ghz) Mac, running Mac OS X 10.5.2. Can anyone tell me what's wrong? It isn't a constant occurrence, just sporadic and sometimes (but not always) if I bounce up and down between one email and another the links will develop one, or two, at a time. Other times nothing changes, just the incompleted links are displayed. I'd appreciate any suggestions to fix this as its pretty annoying. jim I hope my explanation makes sense.  - Alert sounds in Entourage 2008 Under Preferences-->Notification-->Sounds I have all the alert sounds (welcome, new mail, sent mail, etc.) "checked" but I ONLY hear the sounds when Entourage is started. That is to say, if I sent mail or get new mail after Entourage is already running, there is no alter sound. I am using Mac OS X.5.2 on a MacBook Pro and (obviously) I know my speakers work. Whenever I get messages in my inbox on the yahoo server, the messages get copied to my computer and disappear from my inbox on the yahoo web site. This only happens with messages going to my inbox.  - Entourage 2004 and password expiration notification Email is on Exchange Server. I know with Entourage 2004 SP2 you receive a notice that your password will expire in so many days, but you have the option to "do not remind me again". After a user checks the "do not remind me again", how do you reset it so that the password expiration notification will show?  - Problem with Entourage and .Mac email I can not get Entourage (either X or 2004) to show messages from my .mac email account to appear in the primary (default) email account when I click on "Send and Receive All". It works with GMail and other accounts with my ISP, just not the Apple .mac account. I have tried creating new user accounts in both Entourage X and 2004, but just can not get the two to "play nice" together. I just installed Office 2008 at work and tried to cut and paste a table from a WORD doc onto a webpage in Dreamweaver. This is a simple operation I do all the time to update content on our school's webpage. It simply would not paste the content onto the webpage in Dreamweaver. It tried a number of times in different ways. when I re-opened WORD 2004 I was able to perform this simple task. What's going on here? Any ideas?

It's a well-known bug in Word 2008. If you copy your text and paste it into
another application, such as Word 2004, you can copy the text once again
from inside that application and paste it into Dreamweaver without any
problems.
