 - More Entourage desires? 1. Is there a way to do a taskpad view so I can see my tasks on the same page I see my Calendar? 2. Anyway to make the Entourage Notes look like Stickies, the way they look in Outlook? And yes I know about the Mac stikies and frankly hate the way they are saved and stored.  - Suddenly Entourage Sent Folder Not Syncing with Exchange Properly I have a new Windows Mobile 5.0 device with Outlook Mobile. Both Entourage on my Mac and Outlook Mobile are syncing to the same Exchange server/account. Everything has been working fine until yesterday. My inbox is fine, but the emails I sent yesterday from the mobile device appeared in my Entourage Sent Folder with <no subject> and the date and time of the sync not the time the email was sent. I checked the Sent Folder in Outlook Mobile and in OWA and both are fine. But the Sent Folder in Entourage showed those few sent emails incorrectly. It is as if Entourage is not correctly interpreting the email format. When I opened the email, you can see the headers and it says that it is a "This is a multi-part message in MIME format." In order to fix the problem, I emptied the cache in Folder Properties of the Sent Folder in Entourage. Now ALL my sent emails (regardless of whether they were sent from Entourage or Outlook Mobile) show <no subject>. In other words, Entourage is not synching correctly with the Exchange server.  - Outlook Today apperance page / interface in Entourage? In Outlook, there is (for MSFT) an unusually attractive page that can be set summarizing tasks and a 5 or 7 day calendar. It is called Outlook Today. It is one of the main reasons I still keep a PC around, believe it or not; it serves as my master datebook. I use Macs for evrything else. But I hate not having Outlook Today on Entourage. (I also hate not having the ability to seemsly make qand accept appointments and tasks with someone using Outlook.)  - 'Unicode'?? I've just, in the last few days, started getting a message when sending some emails. it says "This message must be sent in Unicode format and...(blah blah blah)". If I okay it, the mail goes. As far as I can tell, an HTNL email remains unchanged but a plain text one has he font changed. Physical: PM G4; OS 10.4.3; 768 MB of RAM; 70 GB free drive space; Office X Entourage 10.1.6; via IMAP Ran repair utilities fixed Volume Inforamtion problem. Compressed Entourage database (standard).  - font appearance on pull down menu In entourage 2004, when I use the pull down font menu, the fonts are all in the same block-type print.... in other words, I can't see what they look like unless I choose one.  - Trying to understand how folders work I recently began using Entourage. My email address is ???@mac.com. On the left side of the box it lists all my folders. There are two headings. One is called "Folders on My Computer" and it lists the Inbox, Drafts, Outbox, etc. It appears to be inactive. Below it there are the same folders but the icons have a little green cable attached to them. These fodlers appear to be active as my email activity is stored here.  - Calendar Printing @#$%#$#@@#$ Happy New Year to all and thanks for all the helpful tips. So soon it will be 2006 and I'd like to print out a calendar as I did last year, in portrait format, on 3-hole punched paper so I can put it in my looseleaf binder. Ical refused to let me do that, so I imported all the info into the entourage calendar, where it looks perfect on the screen (except that it starts at 12AM and has wasted space until 8AM when I would like for it to start). But it at least shows a weekly calendar with seven vertical columns. But when I try to print, using any of the "forms" allowed, they all convert the columns into ugly fat boxes. And it insists on adding spaces for 'tasks' and 'notes' despite my removing those checks from the view menu. Please let me know how I can get this printed if you have any idea.  - a name in my address book I have a name that comes up ( it's a "paul") when I try to send a message to one of the paul's in my address book. I'm in entourage X for macs on a g4 mac laptop. But I don't know this paul or how he got into my system. He's not in the address book when I search it but when I send a new message to one of my pauls and just type in "paul" his is one the Pauls that appears.  - Importing from Outlook Express 5.02 to Entourage 10.1.1 It is possible to import all of my contacts. email boxes, etc. from Outlook Express 5.02 to Entourage 10.1.1? I have tried to go through the Import command in Entourage but it cannot locate the data files from Outlook express. I quit Outlook Express and start Entourage and through the Import command get the Outlook as a source to import from Outloook Express. yet it is only sounds scrpts, no data as I can tell.  - Entourage - Not connected I have just started using Entourage and I have it connected to an Exchange server. I have seen that other people are having problems with the "Not connected" showing up and there is talk of certificates and other things. In my case I'm having a strange condition where 80% of the time Entourage is connected just fine. It updates mail and seems to work ok. But then the computer goes to sleep. When it awakens about 20% of the time Entourage can connect. If not it reports the "Not connected" message behind the Exchange server name. The strange thing is that nothing changed. Sometimes it can reconnect just fine. Other times it cannot. At first I thought this was due to changing ethernet adapters. This is a powerbook and I figured it was having trouble switching between the wired connection and the airport. So I started to quit Entourage when I would be changing connections. Same basic behavior. When my PB is plugged in I have just set it not to sleep. I'll see if that keeps it from losing connection. But compared to Outlook (yes yes..  - Addresses in address book do not appear when sending Since updating to 11.2.1 and installing service pack 2 the names in my address book do not appear when I start a new mail message so I have to manually select them from address book.  - Incoming mail goes to the wrong inbox Last Thursday I started having problems with Entourage. I am running Entourage 11.2.1 with Mac OS X 10.4.3 and an Exchange server. Most (but not all) of the new mail arriving goes into the Inbox on My Computer. I do not have any rules set and I didn't change anything last Thursday. I have tried the following: 1. Rebuilding the database (after verifying that the database integrity was fine)- nothing changed. When everything downloaded again from the server, the majority of my email, regardless of its original folder, went into the Inbox on my computer. All of the folders downloaded but most were empty. 2. Repairing permissions- nothing changed. 3. Setting up a new exchange account- nothing changed. Again, when everything downloaded from the server, most of the email went to the Inbox on My Computer. I don't know what to do now. Any ideas? Tag: Palm not synching Tag: 61958

 - Entourage CAC Card Instructions I have a government-issued CAC card. I have used my CAC card with Netscape on my Mac to send and receive signed and encrypted email. I would prefer to use Entourage, which I use for all my other emailing. Where can I find instructions on setting up Entourage to use a CAC card? I run Entourage 11.2.1 under MacOS X 10.4.3.  - Entourage 2004 - Can't duplicate e-mails in Exchange Folders Hello. Has anyone encountered or have a solution for this? It seems that the keyboard shortcut used to duplicate e-mails ( Apple + D ) in Entourage 2004 does not work for e-mails inside Exchange folders. When clicking Apple + 'D' on locally stored e-mails or "Folders on My Computer" a copy is made of the e-mail message which can then be dragged and dropped to another folder. This function does not work in e-mail from my Exchange server. Apple + 'D' does not have any impact. Any workaround to this? We only have two Macs and it happens on both of them.  - entourage contact management Hi, I am using Microsoft office for OS x /Entourage as my mailer. It works well and has done for many years. However I have two address books, the one I construct myels by entering address. email. phone etc and thos contacts which arrive by mail only and establish themselves in a data base somewhere in the prog. Its these taht I am trying to editie when you click on the "click here to add recipient" when sending a mail automatically pop up and give you an alphabetical list. Many of these recipients have now changed their mail addresses and it is these I wish to get at. I can edit the normal address book but cannot find out where these are stored to edit.  - Special toolbar buttons I received an e-mail that when opened with MS outlook running on WIndows OS produces special toolbar buttons on top, such as voting buttons yes, no, or whatever the sender specified. Viewing the same e-mail with Entourage 2004 deos not produce these special toolbar buttons. Is this something I need to turn on, or is this feature not supported?  - Loss of all data upon restart New friends all ... I have finally migrated over from my G-4 / OS 9.2 /Outlook to a great new G-5 / 10.4 / Entourage ... for all my email. Gave up trying to import my address book, as it came across with all the fields in the wrong spots, so I simply rekeyboarded the entire list over a few weeks. Then, after a restart (usaully leave my machine "on", and in sleep mode all the time) ... and firing up Entourage to check my email, it acted like it had just been installed, and then opened with complete clean slate.  - Opening PDF in EntourageX I upgraded to Acrobat 7 recently, but double-clicking a PDF in Entourage was still causing it to open with 5. Some PDF's would not open or display properly, so I simply took 5 off my machine, thinking that would force PDFs to open with 7. Now double-clicking on an attached PDF in Entourage does nothing at all. I have to drag to desktop where it will open with double click in 7. I have read where such things are controlled "in the system" but I can't find where to control it. Acrobat 7 is the preferred app for PDFs in Get Info. Where else do settings have to change? Thanks.  - Reply not including ALL previous messages When I reply to messages with the preference set to 'include entire message in reply', Entourage only copies the most recent message and the remainder are not included. I have tried quitting Entourage and re-opening the application with no luck. I'm running entourage 2004 version 11.2.1 Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.  - Entourage Problems Entourage refused to load on Tuesday and all the fixes wouldn't work. Luckily enough I had mirrored my drives and I managed to put the database from it on to the other drive and rebuild it. Although I have removed the offending database from the other drive, entourage still refuses to load. I have tried I reinstall but no luck but will try this again.  - Usenet and Entourage Hi everyone, I'm moving to Mac, and I'm loving it, although there are still some things I am not completely satisfied with. For instance, the way Entourage presents Usenet groups. In Outlook Express over Windows, whenever you pick a thread, you can see the messages "hanging" from the initial, or from the one they are an answer to. In Entourage, so far, I've only been capable of seeing all the messages in a thread hanging from the initial message of the thread.  - Pulling Contact Information From Exchange Server I have seen this discussed but was wondering if anyone has worked out a solution. I've a bunch of contact that I've added to my address book prior to having the directory services in SP2. My contact has the typical information you get when you do a 'add to address book' from an email (name, email). The details available in the directory include all the contacts information (such as office number, address, phone numbers, etc). I'd like to overwrite my contacts with the information available in the directory. Has anyone written any applescript that could handle this?  - Calendar Question I have a user who is updating his calendar locally on his machine or on his Palm and then syncing it back to Entourage - can Exchange sync the entried from the local calendar to the exchange calendar? or do I need to manually copy the entries over? if I need to manually copy, then I need the user to enter the events into the exchange calendar instead of the local calendar?  - Message from Entourage Fail, but arrive via Outlook 2003 Hi. I have a small business server running Exchange 2003. I use Entourage and Outlook 2003. My domain is a Custom DynamicDNS domain (melkonian.net). One of my clients can not receive email when sent via Entourage. I can send this client an email from Outlook 2003 without issue, but if I send an email from Entourage the customer never gets the message. I am not sure if this is an issue with Entourage mail formatting, a setting in Exchange, or something on the customers end (which I have no idea what that item might be). Here is what I have done to test. 1. Sent email from Entourage to customers primary account and Yahoo account. Mail arrived at Yahoo account only. No NDR was reported back to me. 2.  - Stupid Question re: Email Archival I've used Entourage 2004 for some time & overall, am most pleased with the product. Today, I had occassion to look for an older "sent" Email to retrieve some info. At this point, I've discovered that all of the Email that's in either my "Sent" or other special folders has no content older than one-month back from today's date. Obviously some scripting which must be a part of Entourage is either archiving or purging these older mail items. I'm hoping they're archived, not purged. My installation of Entourage is "out of the box"; i.e., there has been no custom tailoring of the product. Can anyone shed any light on this issue.  - Beachball after Sleep Since I updated to the latest Entourage 11.2.1 and to Tiger 10.4.3 (at about the same time, so I don't know which made the difference), Entourage is almost always unresponsive for several minutes after my PowerBook wakes up from sleep. It takes so long to wake up that at first I kept using Force Quit; then one time I left it running for five minutes and suddenly it came back to life. I have seen mention of this before on this list, but cannot recall seeing any solutions. At the moment my work-around is to try to remember to quit out of Entourage before putting my Mac to sleep. It may be relevant that I have an Exchange server account that can only be reached if a VPN is active. Most of the time the VPN is turned off. Whenever I quit Entourage with the VPN turned off I get a warning that a network operation is in progress, though I don't have that account in my automatic send and receive list. -- ... Al Quirt ...  - Forwarding HTML messages Can anybody please explain to me why Entourage is the ONLY email client for the Macintosh that can NOT forward complex HTML messages properly?! This has got to be the #1 most annoying thing about Entourage that will FINALLY push our entire office over the edge to use Apple's Mail instead. We desperately need a way for forward complex HTML messages to other users, without them becoming an unreadable blob of code. Just as a quick example, this morning we received an HTML-based holiday card that we needed to forward to other people... can't do it within Entourage. You lose the entire formatting of the message. Last week, we emailed a NetFlix Gift Certificate to ourselves that we wanted to forward on to somebody else... same thing, can't forward it on.  - How to Archive old mail and get ready for 2006 There may be other ways to archive your old mail files but the following is what I do toward then end of each year to get ready for the new year.. 1. I already have a mail folder called "Archived Mail' with sub folders for previous years. The first step is to created a new sub folder called "Mail 2005" 2. Used the standard Entourage tip to drag my current "Inbox" and "Sent Items" to the desktop. This created two mbox format files. It tales a few minutes so please do not rush. 3. Now drag the two new mbox files into the newly created "Mail 2005" folder. I then changed the filenames to Inbox-05 and Sent Items-05. 4. Check that these files are good copies of your current Inbox and Sent Items in the new Mail 2005 folder are correct. Check that they look like your current Inbox and Sent Items. If not correct, repeat steps 2 and 3 until you get it right. 5. Once you are satisfied (step 4), open your primary mbox and use the "Select All" and Delete Key to create fresh file that will contain your 2006 mail. Do the same thing with your Sent Items file. 6. After you finish the above I recommend rebuilding the database by starting Entourage with the Option key held down. The cool thing about this procedure and the reason I use it is I have almost instant access to old mail files. I just went in and stripped the attachments from the 2004 files. I have folders for my old Eudora mail and separate folders for 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 Entourage mail. Each year is a mouse click away in Entourage. I have probably made this sound too complicated.  - Address book contacts dont match E-mail !!! Hi, I am a new Mac Entourage user (OS X) and have a bizarre problem that I just dont know how has happened! My contact/address book contains around 150 contacts, but the E-mail addresses for these contacts has become 'mixed up' - ie the E-mail addresses are all still present, but it looks like the E-mails have randomly associated themselves with different contacts If I double click a contact, it also shows the wrong E-mail address.... I have a PDA which I use to sync (and the PDA does have a correct version) - could it have become corrupted somehow due to the sync process?? I have also tried a 'resync' but the Mac still shows the wrong info.. If there is no way to fix, do you think I should delete all the contacts and then re-download from PDA? Lastly, if I want to BACKUP my E-mail (ie all folders/E-mails under the main tree) can I simply drag/drop onto a Windows 2000 Server?? Many thanks, and sorry for the dump questions!  - Graphics when transferring to a PC Hi there I Have: PowerPoint:mac 2004 11.2 iMac G5 OS X 10.4.3 I like using Powerpoint but have two problems - I'll send a separate post for each one. Graphics I usually have to transfer my presentations to a borrowed PC laptop to show them - I also have (PC) colleagues who sometimes want copies of my presentations. Trouble is some of my graphics don't show on a PC - I get a QuickTime logo instead. All my PC PowerPoint presentations are okay on the Mac. I don't know too much about QuickTime - I don't do anything in particular that I know of to use it for anything - but if there is a way to make sure that Graphics I use show properly on a PC I'd like to know about it. An example is a graphic I've copied from a web page.  - Progress Window (Corrected posting!) Sorry everyone - my previous posting on this subject "escaped" before I had checked it properly. Here it is again with corrections. I have: Entourage 11.2.1 iMac G5 OS X 10.4.3 When I hit the send and receive button I would prefer that the "Progress" window automatically appeared - but I haven't found a way to set it to do that (it did on Outlook Express on my old iMac) - is there a way? Also (and more important than the issue above) - sometimes the progress window has a bit of extra information Sending: To: Completed: Receiving: From: Completed: But note that I said sometimes. Sometimes it does not have the extra information. Whether on not it has this extra information seems to be quite random (but by Murphy's law it's never there when I really want it!). I haven't found a way to turn this on or off. As I still use a dialup I find the information useful e.g. It will tell me the name of a very large file that is taking a long time to send or receive which can help me to decide whether to abort the process because the phone line is required and do my send or receive later.  - Anyone using the "Postponed" scripts? I've been using Bryan Harris's Postponed/Delayed Send scripts for years (http://scriptbuilders.net/files/postponedelayedsend1.95.html). They're an important part of my GTD strategy and Entourage 2004. However, over the past month, the second script (the one that brings the postponed emails back into the InBox) has stopped working. I've tried downloading them again, and checking the parameters (Postponed folder, both scripts in the Scripts folder, etc), and the Postponed script does work. I have been unable to synch between my Tungsten C and my eMac (10.3.9)
using HotSync Manager. The synching operation runs normally but no
data is transferred. When I checked the conduit settings for HotSync
Manager and double clicked on "entourage conduit" nothing happened.
Somehow I have lost the conduit settings. When checking the
application support folder I found that the Entourage conduit file is
correctly in the "conduits" folder, not in the "disabled conduits"
folder.

I recently upgraded to Office 2004. Is it possible that this action
somehow affected these settings? Any suggestions will be appreciated

Did you install the new version of the Handheld Synchronization conduit for
Office 2004? If not, you need to do that. Go to /Applications/Microsoft
Office 2004/Additional Tools/, and launch the Handheld Sync Installer.
