I foolishly updated my Entourage with SP2 and it went crazy. The window was
blinking like mad and I had constant trouble shutting it down. Fortunately,
I had a back-up via Super-Duper of my entire system, so I just wiped my hard
drive and copied my back-up! I don¹t think I¹ll ever let Microsoft
automatically install an ³update² for any of their products again. I was
shocked to see that others on this forum have also reported problems. If
you haven¹t updated yet, please don¹t unless you have a bootable back-up
handy.

Don't forget, though, that some very large percentage of users who have
installed the update have had no problems at all. m.

I too have had issues with SP2 tonight.

Upgraded a system at work where machine is running Tiger and all went
well. Largely used with Exchange and after a re-boot and a bit of
scanning by Office 2004 the upgrade seemed complete and all has worked
OK. (one niggle is sometimes get beachball of death for a few seconds
at random - never used to happen).

At home different story. Updated a shared installation with a number of
family users both small number of emails in account. My Account (admin)
updated Ok but there is no email in it as I dont use it much). However
two other accounts when you run entourage it just spins the beachball
and continues doing so for ages . No sign of email window popping up.
Had to force quit a number of times to stop it. Each time though
entourage just spins the ball and does nothing?

ANy help?

I would suggest disabling Spotlight on the Microsoft User Data folder. It
might be trying to index the database everytime a change is made. Entourage
does not support Spotlight at this time.

I've been able to isolate the cause of my problems (lost dots on
projects in the calendar, the insistence of one of my 2 windows to
always open as a contact list instead of a calendar) to a conflict
between SP2 and the latest Apple Security Update. On a non-Security
Updated system, SP2 runs (at least, for me) without problems.

Hopefully Microsoft and Apple will be discussing this!

I had the same problem and couldn't use email on a trip. When I got
home I reapplied the update and Entourage worked okay, except it
crashes when I try to print.
