 - Categories Hi, Is there a way to have any new calendar or address book entry automatically be added to a particular category? I was looking for a way to have all the events added on via our Exchange server show up in one category and events that I add show up in another category.  - Home/Work Addresses Reversed My addresses in Entourage for individual contacts that were "Work" addressses for some reason are now all over on the "Home" side. Not sure how that happened....must have been when I was having trouble with my Palm syncing. Anyway is there an easy "bulk" way to get them out of the "Home" tab and back under the "Work" tab?  - accessing email from Sprint I have just set up my 1.25gz powerbook to access the web with a Sprint PCS connection Card. Sprint has an email program, if I go to their site, but it is not the greatest. I had, and still do at the present, earthlink as my ISP. But as we live on the road, I have had to go wireless. Earthlink will still work, but if I can use Sprint then I can save a few bucks a month. Can I set up entourage to access my emails, and send emails, just like I did with earthlink? It would be a big help if I could, and the program is much faster. So Far I have set up my account in the tools menu as best as I thought would work, but so far it has not worked.  - The monthly calendar -- multiple copies and printing appearance Two questions about the monthly calendar: 1) I seem to have 15 copies of the month of February, all the same, that load and save every time I open and close Entourage. Why? And, should I change some setting or erase 14 of them? and 2) the monthly calendar view only seems to want to print portrait and I'd like to print it landscape with a smaller font size ... how?  - "4.4.5 Insufficient disk space" error message I just joined this newsgroup. I apologize if this is old news, but I couldn't find the answer to my question elsewhere. I'm getting the following message whenever I try to send a message: Mail could not be sent using the account "[e-mail address not disclosed]." 4.4.5 Insufficient disk space; try again later Error: 5452 The baffling thing is, every so often, it sends messages without a problem! I've done the following: -went to webmail to erase any messages stored in the server -did a "typical rebuild" of Entourage I am at a T-Mobile "hotspot" using their WiFi with my own account. I've been using it for a long time, and it's the first time this has happened. I'm using a 1GHz 15" Powerbook, with 768MB of RAM, running OS X v10.3.2. Thanks in advance!  - deleting hidden addresses in my entrourage address book Hi all,=20 Does anyone know how to delete all these hidden addresses that are in my = Entourage address book? they only show up when I start a new email=20 address and then click on the first letter of the person's address.  - Entourage vs. Share Point I have a small law office with a half-dozen people in it. We have decided that we need a real server and true collaborative calendaring. One network specialist said we could use Share Point, which he said is a stand-alone (free) part of Windows Network 2003. He showed me a demonstration of how the calendar, document sharing, and discussions work. However, Entourage looked quite a bit easier to use and more capable, too.  - Entourage Slow To Retrieve HTML After Safari 1.2 Install Hello All; Entourage is dramatically slower in retrieving information to display a HTML since I installed Safari 1.2. I know Entourage uses IE to deal with HTML, but did the Safari install mess with some properties that IE uses? I haven't seem a word written about this anywhere. Any ideas or suggestions.  - Cannot delete an email There is one message in Entourage that I cannot open or delete. As=20 soon as I click on it the spinning ball of death appears. I leave this = for=20 ages and then have to do a force quit. the email does have an=20 attachment. I have rebuilt the database twice on both typical and full.=20 This has not helped.  - Entourage dialing my modem! Ug! Hey people -- I am using Entourage 10.1.4 on my Powerbook. I have two Internet connections, one is at work (ethernet) and one is at home (modem). I primarily use Entourage at work to connect to the company's Exchange server and I also use it to Hotsync my Palm. Occasionally I do some work in Entourage at home while it is not connected to my work's Exchange server or my home Internet. The problem is this...when I log in, Entourage automatically trys to connect to the web with my modem. It does this frequently while I am working in Entourage also.  - printing too large in entourage- need help! I have been having trouble printing with Entourage. I set the printing font size to the smallest available but when I print the calendar, contacts, anything, it just seems to use its own screen font and large size.  - How do I relink freshly imported email to addresses in Address Book? Folks, Have just come back to Entourage after 6 months in Mail.app. I imported my mail first using the Import Mail script, then used Paul Berkowitz's Sync Entourage-AB script to import all the Apple Address Book contact info. I now need to link the email in my different folders to contacts in Entourage's Address Book. It may be glaringly obvious but I just cannot see how to link them. Any suggestions appreciated.  - Custom mail view updating? I use a custom view to view emails I've received within the last five days. The view excludes certain folders, such as Sent Mail, Junk, Deleted Messages, etc. All of my messages come in to my IMAP INBOX, and are then moved into other IMAP mailboxes using simple rules. For some reason I can't figure out, the Custom View window gets updated right away when new messages come in and get moved to certain mailboxes, yet does not get updated when messages come in and is moved to certain other mailboxes. Until, that is, I go to the main mail viewing window and click a mailbox to refresh the message list. Then the custom view window gets updated. Obviously the first behavior is more desirable. Would some knowledgeable MVP please explain what governs custom view updating for IMAP mail?  - All gone After starting EN 10.1.1 under Panther for the 2nd time in two weeks all my data is gone. When I check my Microsoft User Data, all my old data is lost and it appears as if I have just installed EN for the first time. Wherever I look on my harddisk, I am not able to find the old data. How can this happen? I must say though that I have 2 Microsoft User Data folders on my harddisk but in different locations. The "old" folder still contains the "old" data from the time before the trouble with EN started, it is my backup. The recent one is located in my DOCUMENTS (User/Documents/...) folder.  - Palm sync - need the backup from Entourage... Hi all, so, I have Entourage X 10.1.4 and I've set it up so that I can sync with my Tungsten C. It works great. While i was away, my wife decided that she wanted to sync with my computer too and she dropped her device in the cradle and hit the hotsync button. She can't remember what other screens she agreed to, but when I went to sync again, all i have is HER data. Looking in the Palm/Users/cmbrandt/Entourage Data directory, i see that there is a file called Entourage Storage which is ~400K and was last modified today when I hotsynced. In my wifes Entourage Data folder, she has a file which is ~20K and was last modified yesterday when she synced. Is there any way to get my old data back?  - multiple exchange server connections I have a client who has two Mac users that access Exchange through Entourage. In addition, they both have PC's on their desktop that they also use for exchange server access. Everything works fine for one user.... he can log in simultaneously on his Mac and PC but if this user is logged in on his Mac the other user gets and incorrect username/password error when he tries to log in. If he logs in first then they both can connect fine from all four computers. Regardless of the login success on the Mac's they can always login on their PC's. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?  - Updating Host Files? Our web-based Exchange server was switched to Exchange 2003, requiring the users to update their local Host files. I know how to do this for PCs, but am lost with how to do it on the Macs. We have 2 remote users using Entourage to sync with the mail server and they are not anymore knowledgeable than I am when it comes to Macs - a sorry state, I know.  - Error -2171 Okay I have searched everywhere for the translation of this error code, and can't find anything. I am hoping someone has seen this and knows what it means: The server returned the following error Unable to add message to IMAP mailbox. The corresponding local folder will be used instead. Error -2171 Running Entourage X (with the exchange update) with Exchange Server 2003. We get this error sporadically. when you hit the send the message goes into the local outbox, instead of the server outbox. The message is usually still sent.  - Last Name First Name for Address Book in Entourage I know that this has been discussed...but I am having some trouble. I would like my contacts to show up as "Last Name, First Name". I have tried copying the script that Paul wrote, to automatically convert this into the nickname field, but I keep getting errors from script editor that says it cannot compile the info. What am I doing wrong? Also, can you continue to run this script so that if you say click on someone's email address from a message and say add to address book...and you do this several times a day.  - Save as text script I'm trying to find an AppleScript which saves multiple mail messages into one text file. I don't need or want the messages formatted or changed in any way. All I could find is Allen Watson's script, "Entourage Many to Word" but it does a bit too much (formatting, opening in Word). "Save as" only works with one message at a time. My calendar will not sync with the Exchange 2003 server, and my calendars and contacts show up in my email box.  - Error 5451??? Keep getting this (5451) and other error messages sending to some e-mail addresses. This error message says "mail could not be sent using this account "my name". Then under explanation it says, "Mail error. The server is busy try again later". I've also gotten other various error messages sending to different e-mail addresses. Anyone have any ideas?  - Can't send group e-mail from Entourage I have conpiled a group of 36 addresses (complete with group name) and have tried to send a small HTML text message. The group name clicks nicely into the addressee box, but the message just sits in the Outbox and won't move out. PHASE ONE Create a group (in the address book) with all your friends/family email addresses in it.  - Re Calendar events I would very much like to have the capability to create a template event with certain unchanging info that can be duplicated and then altered (add/delete only certain info). Or be able to create a series but edit only a single event. Is there a way to do either? When you try to edit a series it appears to enable you to edit a single event but only allow a change to date and time.  - error -3170 I have been using Entourage as part of Office X (2001 version), with the new Panther OS X.3.2 on my new iMac. When I was using a dial up connection to my ISP (Earthlink), I had no problem sending and receiving email. Since switching over to DSL connection, I have been unable to send or receive through Entourage. I have tried all the obvious fixes: deleting and recreating my account in Entourage, resetting and tripple checking my Network settings in sys prefs on the iMac, but to no avail. The message I get every time is "specified server could not be found, error -3170. I have been able to receive and send mail through iMail application, and the settings are all the same. One possible coincidence: I recently downloaded a system protection upgrade from mac online for my OS. Could there be a hitch with some new firewall modification? If so, what fixes are there?  - Font selection In the Entourage preferences it is possible to select the font size but above 10 the selection is limited to even numbers only i.e. 10, 12,14,18 etc but it's not possible to select odd numbers i.e. 11,13,15 etc Does anyone know how the odd numbers could be included in the selection list as is possible in the Mac. I am still receiving hundreds of emails daily from people affected by the
Novarg Mydoom virus. How can I stop receiving them? I thought the virus
was suppose to end on 2/12. I'm tired of having to download so many emails
every day. Please help!!!

The only way is to have a spam/virus filter on your mail server. There
is not much you can do :-\
Ask your ISP to implement one :-|
