Hello, Is it possible to remove the "Folder On My Computer" I have set
up an Exchange account and would like to get rid of the inbuilt folder
above. Also, comparing Apple's Address Book to Entourage; one of our
users has commented that the Address Book seems to hold more
information per individual than Entourage; is this true? Plus, are you
able to sync Apple's Address Book with a Blackberry whilst syncing
Entourage's Address Book, or is it one or the other? Many thanks for
any help on these questions.

Sorry, no it isn't.

More? No. Different in some areas, but entourage contacts have more than 60
fields compared to Address Book's 25 (for a person). The two systems use
different ways of organising things, but probably just about anything that
can be done in AB should be possible in Entourage. What is it they see as
lacking?

If the blackberry can be synced through Apple's sync services, then there is
no problem. Sync services will incorporate entourage into the 'truth
database' just fine.

Thanks for your help, Barry. Why is there a "Folder On My Computer"?
Since I can't remove it, can I edit it to become the main Exchange
account? Also, I'm not sure what you mean about the Blackberry sync
going through Apple's sync services and the truth database. Sorry!

The 'on my computer' folder are locally stored mail folders. These are used
for POP mail and also for any mail that you want permanently stored on the
local computer, rather than the exchange (or IMAP) server.

The 'truth database' is a part of the internal workings of the system
synchronisation function - all 'iSync' devices read from and write to the
truth database - it contains the definitive version of the data being
transferred between different devices. If the Blackberry is syncing through
the Apple iSync system, it will be invisibly writing to and reading from
this database.
