 - SP2 - ERROR WHEN PRINTING WEEKLY CALENDAR I just installed MS Office for the Mac SP2 and encountered a very interesting bug. When attempting to print the calendar in Weekly form, the program crashes totally. Printing in Monthly or Daily form seems to work fine. Any suggestions?  - Authentication Failed error When I try to send/recieve mail in entourage I get the message "the server for your account returned the error authentication failed. Your user name/password or security settings may be incorrect." It's worked perfectly for 2 years until now. When I tried to switch identities, after I set up a new one, it eventually stopped sending messages. Have I lost the ability to export any of my contacts/notes from the original identity?  - -18596 Error Running Entourage 2004...server is an Exchange Server...running 2003 software. Ran Microsoft's latest service pack (09/20/05)...and we are still receiving this error message (-18596). I have seen this posted numerous times, however no fix seems to be posted or work. Is there anyone from Microsoft reading this messageboard and if so...what is being done about this problem?  - Trouble deleting mail from unread view I think I've found a bug in Entourage 2004 SP2, but would like some additional confirmation of the behavior. To reproduce: 1) Open Entourage 2004 SP2 and select "Unread mail" from your Mail Views (using the ordering of Newest on Top) 2) Click on an unread message to select 3) Press the Delete key on your keyboard Expected Results: The selected message is deleted. Actual Results: The selected message is not deleted and the selection moves up to the next unread message date-wise. To actually delete the message you have to reselect the message and pressing delete Configuration notes: On a corporate LAN connecting to an Exchange 2003 backend.  - mail to > automatic address fill in feature Entourage has this nice feature, suggesting a number of email addresses as soon as one starts to type into the 'mail to' field. So far so good. But it tends to show addresses (which if I'm in a hurry even get used by me) that are not in my address book and emails that used this address in one way or another were deleted along time ago. So Entourage must somehow store all addresses ever coming into the (Entourage) system to still offer them as an option.... My question is: how can I get rid of these.  - One single forwarding rule - it works, but the original message I am really hoping that someone, somewhere, has experienced this, and can offer some help... We using Entourage 2004 11.1.0 on OS X 10.3. The account is a POP account, with no Exchange server. The one single rule that it has is set to Forward All Messages, and do nothing else. 99% of the messages are forwarded, except for about one per week. I've checked every folder on the system - including the Inbox, Junk mail, Sent items, Deleted items, and every folder in between. I have checked them visually, and using the search filters, and ensured that I am viewing all messages, not just the Unread ones. I have also checked that the messages are being sent to the correct business address, and are not just direct replies to the forwarding address, so I'm sure they are being sent to the first address, and they are, in fact, being forwarded to the second address. But the messages simply disappear after forwarding! Is there anything such as an Entourage log that can be viewed, or is there any way to view the headers of the message at the forwarding address to see if there is a clue as to why they are just disappearing?  - post SP2 - alerts / office notifications going crazy! Since I upgraded my powerbook with office SP2, the alerts daemon has been throwing calendar / office notification alerts up at random intervals, somewhere between 10-30 at a time. All of these notifications have been previously dismissed - most of the appointments are a week or more old. Every 5-10 minutes, however, I get 30 more alerts.  - Entourage SP2 - Calendar updating taking hours After installing SP2 I just connected to our exchange server where I have 3-4 years worth of calendar data. It appears that all of the data has been transferred to my computer but the synchronizing progress bar has been active for about 3 hours now.  - Copying Entourage local calendar to Exchange calendar hope someone can help I have microsoft office 2004 with the latest service pack *finally conversing with our entourage server (having only ever worked as ima before) I have a *very* full diary in the local entourage calendar but nee this data to be in the exchange calendar which I intend to work wit from now on I am at a loss as to how I get this information across.. how do I d this? I can individually send an item at a time to the other calendar b clicking on an event using the contextual menu and then sending i across that way but given there's probably a 1000 items in the diar before xmas this will take forever. Perhaps someone can give me some pointers..  - ENTOURAGE 2004 -> Exchange deletes but marks diferently deleted messages?? I use a blackberry server, wich only detects messages deleted on my mailbox when it is done directly via Web Outlook, and not when done via Entourage 2004. When I delete messages with Entourage, it sends them to the deleted messages folder. When I delete the messages directly via Web-Outlook, web outlook sends them also to the deleted messages - same folder - To here everything seems ok, and in fact both Entourage and Exchange work perfectly. In fact if after deleting a mesage with entourage I access my exchange server account via Web-Outlook, the message is stored in the same deleted messages folder as if it was done by Web-Outlook. For some reason, when the deleted proces is done via Entourage or via Exhcange, something is done to the message that this movement is only detected by the Black Berry server if it is done with Exchange, but not if it is done with Entourage. Is it possible that Entourage follows a diferent procedure to delete the message via OWA than doing it directly to the Exhange Server.  - Problems with Entourage Project Groups & Printing After installing the recent update, things have gone haywire with Entourage. First of all, my calendar no longer color-codes my project assignments, task, etc. The color codes still exist when I look at individual projects but when I go for the "big picture" under calendar, the colors are all gone, and all tasks are showing up in black font. Second, I tried printing the calendar anyways so I could at least have my events for the week printed up, and I keep getting errors, resulting in auto-shutdown of Entourage. Here is the cut and paste for part of the error msg: Error Signature: Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS Date/Time: 2005-09-25 22:42:24 -0700 HELP! I would delete Entourage and reload the original but my cousin has the CDRom since we bought a family pack to install it and she has since moved to another city.  - Plugins that let you do nested tasks, or put your project tasks in order? Does anyone know of any updates, anywhere, that will allow you to do this? All I want to do is organize my (massive) task list and this program won't even allow you to change task order or nest your lists. Outlook does this. You can even do it in MS Word or Excel by dragging a table row to a different position. I like everything else about Entourage, but without the ability to do this, the program is rendered nearly useless, to me. Which is frustrating because I really want to use it. What good is it if you can't put basic tasks in order, to do task 1, then task 2, in a project? Thirty tasks out of order look pretty overwhelming. Does anyone know of any plugins or similar that will help me solve this problem? I wrote to Microsoft some time ago about this but have never heard anything else about it. I suspect the suggestion went into a big hole. This seems pretty basic to good design of a program designed to manage people's planning. I post it here in the event that others are having similar problems with the Exchange Information Store. ----- Hello, Admittedly I don't have all my facts yet, but I am certain that the latest SP for Entourage, along with Exchange SP1, are somehow causing major problems with the Information Store in Exchange 2003. As long as there are no users connecting to Exchange with Entourage, there are no problems with Exchange. As soon as a user opens Entourage and attempts to perform any function related to permissions (such as opening a shared calendar), Exchange generates errors. It frequently shuts down the Information Store service which usually can be restarted without rebooting the server. I am concerned, however, that the Information Store will become corrupted. I can reproduce this on two different Windows Small Business Server 2003 platforms. If there is a bug, then Information Stores everywhere are vulnerable. Mind you, this did not start until after the Entourage SP2 update and the associated service packs it requires were installed on Exchange. We applied, in the following order, these patches: Entourage SP2 on MAC OS 10.3 [At this point we had some authentication issues] Exchange SP1 [Authentication issues went away, and now the IS shuts down randomly] KB888619 to Exchange Server 2003 [IS shuts down when activity related to permissions is attempted, but not always - still researching this] Windows Server 2003 SP1 [No change] KB843539 to SBS2003 Standard Edition [No change] These errors are always reproduced in the following sequence: Event Type: Warning Event Source: WinMgmt Event ID: 5603 User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM A provider, PerfProv, has been registered in the WMI namespace, ROOT\CIMV2\MicrosoftHealthMonitor\PerfMon, but did not specify the HostingModel property.  - Entourage will not work after update Just updated to service pack 2 and when I start Entourage 2004 it shows that it updating identy. I then get a message that "Microsoft Database Daemon has encountered a problem...." The next window says "Entourage cannot access your data. To attempt to fix the problem, rebuild database" I have verified the original it appears to be valid. I have also rebuilt the data base and tried using it with the same error message.  - Corrupt Attchments If this has been covered before (I am sure it has been) please forgive another question on this issue. I sugscribed to this group a week ago and checked all posts in case it was a raging issue, but was surprised to see that there was nothing on the subject. Since the upgrade to Tiger, all attachments from Entourage to a mail recipient get corrupted. Cheking the net... there seem a lot of similar complainst, some of which were attributed to Little Snitch (who released a patch to supposedly correct this), but having installed the patch, there is no improvement. Does anyone know the solution to this? Is there light on the horizon? I have reverted to using Mail to send anything with an attachment, but it is frustrating to work between two packages.  - Entourage will send but not receive. I have been using Entourage for a few years. I recently began havin some problems on both my g4 tower and my g4 powerbook. The powerboo version of Entourage no longer receives or sends any mail --offering a error code of 3000 something. The most problematic now is my deskto version not being able to receive. I've checked all of the accoun settings and verified them again with my ISP. The error code is 7010 Anyone have a clue? P.S. has anyone ever uninstalled Entourage? I'm thinking perhaps I' like to try to export the folders for safe keeping then reinstall th software on both laptop and desktop as a "final fix" attempt. What i the proceedure- simply trash "everything Entourage"? I dunno, does thi make sense as a fix or is there something less drastic and mor efficient?  - SP2 Screwed up Entourage? Dual 2 GHz G5 OS 10.4.2 Microsoft Office 2004 Entourage 2004 v11.2.0 I routinely allow Microsoft Office to check for updates and go ahead an install these, because they are almost always small bug fixes (that I had often not even encountered). Well, the last update that came down has managed to completely screw up my Entourage (I don't really use the other office product very much, whereas I use Entourage non-stop). First of all, I encountered several problems while the update was trying to update my data file. It kept failing and wanting to start over. I finally had to rebuild the database, and then the update went through. The major change in this update is better compatibility with Exchange servers, and on that front, I actually see a huge improvement, because it seems like Entourage for Mac is finally a better Exchange client and we are now able to see all public folders, and calendars, address books, etc. However at least a few things have been broken since the update, and I am trying to see if it is just me, or if anyone else can verify these: 1. This is not so much a bug as it is a mini heart attack in waiting! During the update, apparently all of your contacts and calendar events get moved to the exchange server (obviously this only happens if you are connected to an exchange server). So instead of these records being in your local contact and calendar database, they are now accessed through the exchange server versions that are created for you. That's not such a big deal except that there was no warning about this. So when I launched Entourage after the update, it seemed like I had lost all my data in those areas. But they are all there. Just moved to a different location. Although this still seems confusing, because now we have 2 locations for calendar events and contacts. 2. Drag and drop is broken! I used to be able to drag a task or a an email onto the calendar and create events out of them. This was a great tool, as that is how I set up my appointments, etc. This no longer works. Although the calendar gets highlighted and it looks like you should be able to do this, when you let go of the task you dragged on top of the calendar, nothing happens. There are scripts to let you do this, but dragging and dropping was far easier and quicker. 3. Window preferences do not seem to stick. I have 3 windows open when I am working with Entourage: 1 Main window for email on the left the full height of the screen and then I have 2 smaller half height windows stacked on tope of each other on the right, with one displaying tasks and the last displaying my workweek calendar. Every time I quit out of Entourage and come back in, the views and location of the 3 windows on the change. I have thrown away all my preferences, etc., and it does not seem to help. I remember back a few years ago, it seemed like if you had Internet Explorer open, then the preferences file was not getting written to, so in order to make changes stick, you had to quit out of IE first and make the changes and then quit the program to make sure the preferences were modifies and then you were good.  - SP2 Bug: Entourage 2004 not saving window state properly My system: Entourage 2004 SP2 on Mac OS X 10.4.2. I use Entourage with 3 separate windows open: Mail, Tasks, and Calendar. Entourage is normally good about remembering my open windows, as well as their positions on the screen. However, the introduction of SP2 introduced a new bug whereby Entourage will replace my Tasks and Calendar window with two over-lapping Address Book windows. (That is, it only remembers the state of the Mail window, and forgets the position information for one of my windows). Here's how to replicate this bug: 1. Make sure 3 separate windows in Entourage are open: Mail, Tasks and Calendar. Position each window differently on the screen. (You can right click on the icons that correspond to these functions to open them in new windows.) 2. Close Entourage and reopen. The windows should be just as you left them. 3. Now create a new mail message and save it as a draft. 4. Close Entourage and reopen. The Tasks and Calendar window should now be replaced by Address Book windows which will likely be positioned identically on the screen. Can anyone else replicate this bug? I really appreciate the fact that Entourage remembers the state of the application when I close it, and I would love for that to continue into the future.  - Login Failure SP 2 is great but I am having a nagging problem. When I use my Powerbook at home with VPN I receive a login failure after entourage begins syncing. It will sync several folders and then I get the login failure message. When attached to the network at the office (no vpn) I don't have this problem. Ideas?  - How to transfer email info from Outlook on PC to Entourage on a Mac? I'd like to help a colleague here who recently swtiched from PC to a brand-new iBook running Tiger. She wants to move her email (mail and addresses) from Outlook (version unknown, but probably recent) to Entourage. (I'm assuming that's from Office X.) I checked on my Entourage Help and could find how to do that going via a MS Exchange Server. My guess would be that she wasn't using Exchange via a server, but only on her desktop PC.  - Slow down in Address book and SR2 Anyone else seeing a slowdown in the search function of the address book in Entourage 2004 with the SR2? I'm on a G5 2Ghz, with 2.5 gigs of ram. Main Identity is about 1.2 gigs, and I have 3600 contacts. Before the upgrade, searches in the Address book, for last name, while ordered/sorted by Name, was under one second. Now with the SR2, it takes well over 7 seconds each time. I've compacted and then rebuilt the database. I've also run a few utilities, like Disk Warrior and Onyx, to see if that would help.  - Can't connect to Exchange Server 2003 with Office 2004 I have the same problem. I was previously able to connect to Exchange when using Office X and then 2004 Test Drive. Then, for no apparent reason, without changing any settings, I was not able to receive, but was able to send. So I figured it was a Test Drive problem and purchased the license. And now, I can neither send nor receive. I get a "Logon Failure: unknown user name or bad password. ..." But I've verified the password and user name, replaced the Identities file, rebuilt the database, reconfigured all the settings, etc. I'm able to ping the Exchange server from Terminal (both the domain and the IP address) and able to access email with Web Client, but not with Entourage.  - Failure to Deliver when sending to .co.jp or .co.kr addresses I have been struggling with this problem for some time now. Configuration: Entourage 2004 10.4.2 connecting through Exchange 2000 Whenever I send an e-mail to addresses that end in @seh.co.jp and sometimes when I send an e-mail to addresses that end in @lg.co.kr I get a "Delivery Failed" message from the recievers host.  - Project colored dots disappeared with SP2 I had updated to SP2 and everything was fine with Entourage (sort of). Now, suddenly and without warning, the colored dots that appeared on calendar events that were linked to a project have disappeared. The space for the dot, however, is still there. Other strange goings on: If I choose "Projects", the large window showing the names of the projects has each project in the color that it was assigned.  - Can't Establish a Delegate We just upgraded to SP2 and basically it is running great with the exception of a couple of minor glitches. Applying upgrades to the Exchange server fixed all of them but one. I can't designate someone as a delegate. Once I select a person as a delegate and click ok, I get this error message: Entourage cannot connect to the Exchange server. Make sure that your password was entered correctly and try again. (Error: 65486) The fact is, I know I am connected and my password is entered correctly because I can do everything else in Entourage. I can also give someone access to my calendar or e-mail by setting the permissions in the folder properties. This happens on any computer on our network, so it is either a setting on our Exchange server or an overall glitch in SP2. Does anyone know how to fix this? an archive folder. The catch is that the inbox is an exchange server.
The folder hierarchy is [myname]\inbox. I want to move it to
[myname]\inbox\archive. Is this possible? I know in earlier versions of
Entourage, it was not possible to get the message ID from a message in
an IMAP folder.

That is correct. You still can't move messages to or on servers. (By some
oversight, which is actually a bug, you CAN move calendar events to an
Exchange calendar, and it keeps the same ID. For now...)

You can, however duplicate messages to local folders by script. If you make
your archive folder somewhere "On My Computer" you can duplicate the message
to it, then delete the original, by script.
