    - Changing the From field in Entourage Is there any way to change the From field in Entourage 2004 to show another account I have access to without using the Delegate feature? Here is the situation as confusing as it sounds. We have a generic exchange account set up for the editor of our magazine (ex. editor@mymagazine.com) that is shared with the multiple editors (actual living, breathing people) for that particular magazine. These accounts are shown as Public Folders in Entourage. None of the users are set up as delegates. The question that has come up is if they can send emails as the main editor@mymagazine.com email account. In Outlook in Windows, the From field may be edited to the editor@mymagazine.com address and then the user is authenticated to that account before it is sent out. I am looking to see if this is possible in Entourage, either natively or with help from an outside application? Thank you in advance.     - Can't Delete an Email I received an advertisement email from Linens-n-Things. Entourage immediately froze. After restarting Entourage, I find I cannot delete, move, forward, or otherwise affect this email. It is a stone monument in my Inbox. I get an error code: "The action could not be completed.     - Is there a way to select the from field when replying to messages we recently migrated from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003 and have found that due to the use of Public Folders, when replying to messages that arrive to those folders the person sending the message will send it from his/her personal account as opposed to "xyz on behalf of".     - Spotlight Option missing from General preferences Help! I use Spotlight extensively on my Entourage mail database. The problem: I had to reinstall MAC OS X from the original discs the other day - I selected the option to retain my data, programs etc. All appeared to be well until I noticed Spotlight was no longer giving me results from Entourage. went to the Preferences and the button under General to use Spotlight is now completely missing. I am running 11.3.3 so it should be there. MS updates will not install on top of the current installation and I do not want to lose my data etc. Can anyone throw some light on how to fix this please?     - Intermittent freezes since 10.4.9 update Since I updated my Intel iMac to 10.4.9 my Entourage v.X would intermittently freeze and I would have to force quit in order to get out of the program. I can relaunch Entourage and repeat exact what I had done just before the freeze and it doesn't happen again. Usually I can complete a session when this happens. When this happens I sometimes get an error message: -192 but not every time this occurs. What is error -192? The message window display includes the Entourage logo.     - backing up entourage I am a newbie to Entourage -- I want to know if the files that I back "backup.rge" also keep the attachments in tact as well.     - Entourage DST issue...after the updates I have 20 Mac users and on Monday I spent the time to walkaround to each machine making sure they had the Apple DST update and the Entourage 11.3.3 update. There is one person on a G4 PPC laptop running OS 10.4.8 and Entourage 2004 v11.3.3 who is still having issue scheduling appointments. When she schedules an appointment for 1:00-3:00 it comes up as 2:00-4:00 on her calendar (unless you open the appointment...then it will show 1-3). All of the meeting attendees who accepted the appointment have it on their calendar from 2:00-4:00 (it says that even if you open the appointment). Has anyone else run into this? But on my Mac, I get the following error when I try to send email using one of these other two accounts: Authentication failed because Entourage doesn't support any of the available authentication methods.     - messages appear on local machine, but not on exchange server Help! For some strange reason, my mail messages are starting to appear on my Mac's inbox and not on the exchange server--this is a real pain because my blackberry gets all the messages that it should but I wind up having to delete messages, or move them to the exchange server from my inbox to have access when I'm at home. I had this problem about a week ago and solved it by creating a new Entourage identity--this was a great fix, but of course I had to reconfigure all my custom categories, and set Entourage up all over again. I am dreading having to do it again. Any ideas?     - Send & Receive downloads all my old messages I use Entourage with my Gmail (POP) account. A few weeks ago, when I did a send and receive, it started downloading all my messages from 2005. I already have these messages in my account, but it doesn't seem to realise this. At first I let it continue to download thinking I can just delete the duplicates and eventually my new mail will come through. But I'm working in Africa with a dial up connection, at this rate it's going to take a year before I start getting this weeks messages! So far I ran the database utility, and it said my database was fine. Is there anywhere I can get a script I could get to just download the mail for the last couple of weeks? Then I can alter my options on my gmail account so I only have POP access for mail from now on, and I should be able to continue to use Entourage normally.     - entourage I'm new to Mac's and have not been happy with "Mail". I've been setting up Entourage and I am having a problem getting e-mails. I'm using a "POP" account and a "IMAP" one.     - Entourage Send & Receive Schedule, runs but doesn't connect We have entourage send & receive schedules to connect to a pop server every minute. Normally they run just fine, however every once in a while, the schedules appears to be running as normal, but it isn't actually connecting to the server. If you manually hit send & receive the messages will come through, but the schedule still does not work. The only thing that I have been able to find to fix it, is a complete restart, and this seems to remedy the situation.     - Keynote Attachment/Stuffit question I recently upgraded to Tiger from Panther. Suddenly Entourage won't let me attach Keynote presentations. I get an error message that says "Aladdin system Stuffit software must be installed on your computer." Well, I have Allume (which I think used to be Aladdin) Stuffit downloaded. I upgraded to their latest version yesterday, and that did no good. I try to change Entourage Preferences, since i'd only be sending Keynotes to Mac users, and under preferences i can change the encoding and compression, but lo and behold, when i go to attach a message, and click on the long bar under the Attachment pane, it says "no compression" is selected, even though i HAVE selected it in my preferences. any ideas?? thanks hanky Tag: Mini-calendars disappeared?     - FirstClass upgrade causing troubles Hello, My company is using FirstClass as its mail server. As I do not like the FirstClass client, I am using Entourage instead and everything was fine until last week when IT decided to upgrade the server. Now all the messages I receive come minus the line breaks : all the text looks like it was written on one line. Needless to say, it is a pain a decipher what is being said when there is no paragraphs or line breaks. Any ideas to get me out of this predicament would be more than welcomed.     - Entourage swallows white spaces in the subject line when using Cyrillic letters Hi All, Actually Entourage sometimes may deside to add a white space, sometimes to remove it. I am not sure the same issue is there with other alphabets, but it is constantly happening with Cyrillic. I am using Entourage with Exchange server, and it happens to me that my messages are sent without the white space that I actually typed (or it was there in the message I replied to). What I have learned that I am not unique. I posted a message on the Russian Mac users forum and immediately had at least 10 people replying that they experience the same issue. I tried to analyse what could be the reason, but found no clue: the problem happens with arbitrary message (still, if some e-mail subject happened to remain intact, it keeps being so through all my replies to the thread). I also found out this thing never happens to lating-only subjects. One may say this is not a big issue, but actually as people tend to use grouping by conversation threads, subjects that come altered immediately split down one thread into two or even more (as alterations keep happening with the same subject).     - Error 170 for Exchange 2007 and Entourage 2004 We just started our migration to Exchange 2007. We have several MacOS computers therefore we bought lots of Entourage 2004 licenses. We have run all updates possible. Entourage 11.3.3 (However we have installed the 11.3.4 patch also, but that doesn't update entourage) MacOS X 10.4.8 Our problem is that we get connected to the Exchange-server, we can list public folders but we can't get the users inbox/calender etc. When we create an account and verify the settings we get that an unknown error 170 occured. A hint in another usegroup told me that it was a regexp fault that said it could not get inside the right box, however when we do a TCPFlow dump on the communication we do see that it actually can login to the right emailbox. It works just fine when connecting via IMAP or to the web access via Safari, but not when connecting with the real Exchange account in Entourage. We have tried a lot of different settings when it comes to setting the Exchange-server in Entourage: mail.domain.com http://mail.domain.com http://mail.domain.com/exchange http://mail.domain.com/exchange/user http://mail.domain.com/exchange/user@domain.com Any help would be appriciated since we are about to go live with the new Exchange system soon.     - Entourage I'm new to Mac's and have not been happy with "Mail". I've been setting up Entourage and I am having a problem getting e-mails. I'm using a "POP" account and a "IMAP" one.     - Default Folder Issues I am using Entourage to sync with my company's Exchange server, the problem is when Entourage downloads new mail from the server it moves it automatically to the "Folders on My Computer" inbox and removes it from the server. This just started happening today, but I did not change any of the rule or other settings. Does anyone know how to reassign the default folder to the Exchange account folders? Thanks!     - Mail times change when moved to archives I have a fully patched Mac OS X 10.4.8 including DST patch and Office is up to 11.3.4.. The DST patching that takes places under 11.3.3 and 11.3.4 has resolved some funky time issues with emails and calendar but now when I Move or drag (copy) an email that I received at, say, 2:00pm into my archive (On my computer) the time of the email reverts to non-dst patched state. So the email in my archive shows up as being received at 3:00pm. I rebuilt the database in effort to correct anything still in the DB file but that didn't fix it. Any ideas on how to resolve this?     - Wrong Time Listing in Calendar I can't figure out why... but when I add a new event/meeting to the calendar it posts the date in my calendar view as one hour AFTER the start time. For example. I put in a meeting that starts at 3 pm and goes to 4 pm. When I view the calendar it shows my meeting at 4 pm. This just started happening in the last day or two. Any thoughts?     - Rules in Entourage 04 I have a client who is using Entourage 2004 and has his mail (and the app) stored on an Xserve RAID (for redundancy purposes.) He gets a lot of e-mail (right now there is roughly 18,000 in his inbox) and wants everything to be redirected via rules. The problem I'm running into is that Entourage will not automatically apply any rules to the incoming messages automatically. If I choose the message and "Apply All Rules..." nothing happens. If I choose a message and choose the single rule to apply, the message will be moved. Any thoughts? I noticed that the Microsoft auto update does not work either. I had to download the latest update and install by hand. I'm assuming this is because of the remote location of Entourage. Please correct me if I am wrong.     - Mail is distributed randomly Help! My client is running OSX 10.4.8 with Entourage 2004 11.3.4. They are experiencing a problem where mail received is being distributed randomly. Initially they had an IMAP account set up on a kerio (6.3.1) mail server. The IMAP account freaked out after 1 year of happy service and moved over 1000 emails in to various local folders. I then reinstalled Office 2004 re updated it and then recreated the accoutn as an exchange account. Now any new mail she receives gets forwarded into her Junk email even when marked as not Junk.     - FQDN and DNS If my public DNS is handled by my web host, how would one suggest I configure my DNS settings (both public and private) so that when from behind the firewall, the FQDN of say, webmail.domain.com points to the internal IP of the SBS server, and when outside of the office, the FQDN would direct to the public IP. I've just swapped Macs with a colleague and I've reinstalled microsoft office on it, I've set up Entourage with my email accounts but it repeatedly asks for the email passwords, even though I have saved them in the accounts info. I retype them, but it asks for them again a few minutes later and it then keeps crashing with an error message - it's crashed 5 times in the past 15 minutes! When I save the passwords, if I go back into the Accounts information again the passwords have disappeared. This is the same version of Entourage I was using previously on my old Mac, so I can't see why it is suddenly causing problems - can anyone suggest anything to help?     - Change calendar responses I receive an invitation. I accept it. Later I realize I cannot attend. Is there no way to change my reply? Deleting the item does not notify the sender.     - Can no longer send email or sync properly Hi all. Have seen this particular issue being brought up in the past, and no one seemed to have any answers. Still think I'll try my luck. Have been using a macbook running entourage 2004 on an exchange server (SBS 2003) at the office for the last couple of months. Has been working a treat until today when all of a sudden I can't send email (error -18597 unable to access the mail account). Also I get sync errors for the last 10 emails or so I received. Even OWA refuses to send giving me a 'Forbidden' message when trying to send. Receiving works fine as does the calender. None of the settings have been changed whatsoever since the last time I sent mail. The usual rubbish advice from Microsoft about checking for typos and making sure the email address is spelt correctly is just that...rubbish!     - Text body of notes is invisible 10.1.6 Entourage. There are 226 notes. These have been around for 5+ years as well as last week. I synch to a Tungsten T. I see these notes and the associated body copy. In notes in Entourage I see the subject and categories (by color) but there is copy is invisible. I create a new note and it is visible and will synch and show. So what I have is "invisible text" in Entourage but I can see this on the PDA I have rebuilt the database both as typical and advanced. I apparently have but in settings that copy certain messages to the computer InBox and trashing them on the IMAP account. Hi Heath,

now that's very strange. There is no way to disable the mini-calendar
through a menu or a button. In other words, it *should* still be there.
Maybe you have accidentally dragged the divider line between the views
section of the folder list and the mini-calendars towards the bottom of the
screen, which pushes the mini-calendars almost off-screen. If that is the
case, just drag the divider line up, and the calendars should be on screen
again.

Hi Michel,

Actually, there's no divider line there to drag up and down - no
scroll bar, etc. Just the text links at the top and a LOT of empty
vertical space. I think it's very weird too! I'll try rebuilding the
database and see what happens...
