 - Mail list as attachment not working A user attached several mail lists from his contacts in Outlook on Windows and mailed them to a bunch of people. All of the recipients who use Outlook in Windows were able to read the attached mail list item with no trouble. None of the Mac Entourage users however can read the attachments. I tried this myself, and got the same result. Does anyone know how to do this so it works? Is it possible to get it to work? Is this a known bug? We're using Office 2004, and Entourage is (supposed to be) patched with all released patches. I'm using OS X 10.4.5, but the other users are probably a mix of versions.  - Entourage syncs to Palm but not vice versa I use Entourage 11.2.1 and a Palm M130 with Palm OS 4.1. For the last few weeks, when I synchronize, data from Entourage syncs to the Palm but not reliably from the Palm to Entourage. Additions or changes to the To-Do List on the Palm are not reflected in Entourage at all. New Date Book events seem to sync to Entourage Calendar pretty well, but Calendar changes made on the Palm do not always sync to Entourage. I believe this used to work. I sync the Palm also with Outlook at work, where there's never a problem. It used to work with Entourage at home too. I've removed and reinstalled both Palm Desktop (4.2.1 Rev. A) and the Entourage conduit, to no avail. The Entourage conduit shows Address Book, Calendar, Tasks, and Notes all set to Synchronize, except for one Category (used for tasks of interest only at home, not even on the Palm). None of the Tasks on the Palm have this category, of course. I have this feeling that I'm missing something simple, but I don't know what. Any ideas? PowerMac G5 2GHz, 1GB RAM, OS X 10.4.5.  - Entourage CRASHES in Project center After moving my identity to a new 17" Laptop mac with an install of Office 2004, completely upgrading to the most current, Entourage crashes whenever I make a new event or open an existing event and click on the 'Projects' tab to assign it to a project. Also, it quits when I have a projects 'Properties' open and I go to click on 'Add'. Either way it instantly crashes without going to the next window. Anyone have a clue???  - Worked in Apple Mail but not in Entourage? I'm using entourage 2004 for the Mac, I used to use the mail program for my mac and i have a school account and a home account. When I would go home I could receive my school mail on at my home but I was unable to send throught the school account. I then changed some settings and I was able to reveive school mail and then use my home server settings to send a reply. I have been searching and trying to figure this out using entourage. As of now I can come home and get my mail from my school account. When I go just sits in the outbox because of the server settings. How can I fix this?  - Entourage 2004 is slow since updating I have a user on my network that has been experiencing the spinning beachball whenever her entourage is syncing with the Exchange server. Whenever the "send and receive all" schedule is running, she get's the spinning beachball when she tries to type a new message or move from the Inbox to another folder or move from one message to the other etc etc. In short she gets the spinning beachball when she tries to do anything in Entourage. We've noticed that this started happening since we ran the Office 2004 update. What is very strange is that it happens on any computer that her Entourage acct is set up on - which leads me to think it maybe something with her mailbox and not necessarily Entourage 2004. But she is fine when using OWA. If anyone has experienced this problem and can point me in the direction of a fix for it, I would really appreciate any advice you can give me.  - Changing time zone via Applescript, take 2 All: Being a resident of central Indiana, I am being forced to deal with a time zone change. We are moving from our own zone (Indiana/East) to Eastern DST on April 2nd. I manage several hundred Macs running Entourage 2004, and I need a way to change the time zone Entourage "en masse".  - Mail Error Entourage pulls up fine. It even goes and gets my mail and if I create a new message it works. However, any time I hit "reply" on a message, I get the following error: "The action could not be completed. Mail error." Then, almost anything else I try to do, even closing a window or trying to quit results in the same message. I've repaired permissions, stopped schedules and done a basic database rebuild.  - Unwanted Mime attachments! Hi, I'm using Entourage 2004. I've been using entourage for years to send Word files to groups of people, but just recently I've been getting complaints that the attachments are in MIME format, which they can't open. I checked my prefs, it's still clicked to encode using AppleDouble, as it has been all along. I even tried changing the pref then changing it back to see if that helped, but it's still sending these mime files without me wanting it to. Also, I've got compression turned off. I now have to manually log into a web-based server to send these attachments, and that kind of defeats the whole point of a program like Entourage. Does anyone have any suggestions? In Outlook (PC) I could create anotherone to hold the business contacts or older contacts i rarely use.  - Meetings Accepted from a program other than Entourage 2004 sp2 Hello, I am having a issue with the grey and black side bars that show up as tenative or accepted, respectively for meetings requests in Entourage 2004 connected to an Exchange 2003 server. If I accept meetings requests in Entourage they show up with the black side bar as accepted or grey if I accept tentative. However if I accept meetings through my Treo 700w running Windows mobile 5.0 and exchange active sync they show up grey as if I selected accept tentative, even through Entourage says that I have accepted the meeting Anyone know why this happens and how to correct the problem?  - Entourage incorrectly rendering HTML in emails I have a simple email (sent by SharePoint) that Entourage is rendering incorrectly. I have made sure that complex HTML formatting is turned on in the HTML preferences. All the HTML tags are stripped out and text is run tigether.  - Can not open my database! Using Entourage 2004 I put a database file onto a different computer than I normally use at work, so I could download my email. After downloading the email I copied it back to my USB key and put it back on my home computer later that day. When opening Entourage it told me: "This identity cannot be opened with this version of Entourage." Both versions are Entourage 2004. Anyone have any idea why it will not open??  - The action could not be completed. Mail error. I've been getting this with more frequency in Entourage X. Rebuidling the database always clears things up, but it seems that I have to rebuild more often. My database is a 2.25GB in size, running os 10.4.5 on a 17" powerbook.  - why can't you put hyperlinks in entourage mail Why can't I put hyperlinks in entourage mail. I like to put my website in my signature and entourage doesn't seem to be able to make that a hyperlink (when you look in the help files under hyperlink it isn't even listed, so I don't think I'm imagining this). You'll now see your entire address book, with checkboxes in front of each contact. Since you only want to print ~30, you'd better click on Clear All in the lower left corner and then individually select the contacts you need. If you now click on OK and then print the document, you should theoretically get what you want. If that's not the case, post back. And make sure you hit "reply to newsgroup" if you do so.  - Order of folders Is there a way to change the order of Entourage Folders--not those set up by me. I'd like to move my "Drafts", "Outbox", "Deleted Items", and "Junk E-mail" to the bottom of the list so that more of my personally created folders show. Before my hard-drive failure and reinstallation, I know that my deleted items and junk e-mail folders were further down, but I can't seem to get them to move now. Dragging doesn't seem to work.  - Font sizes for viewed items I'm using Entourage 2004 on a 12 inch Powerbook. I don't mind having my folder list in a smaller font--even the e-mail items are okay slightly smaller. But I would really like to have the Preview pane defaulted to a slightly larger size. I know that I can hit the button to increase font size, but I'd have to do that for EVERY e-mail.  - Importing Holidays I just read an old (more than a year old) thread about importing Holidays into Entourage. I had NO idea that this could be done. I always wondered why they weren't automatically there, but didn't realize that there was a way to bring them in.  - Entourage 2004 w/ Network Home Folders Does ANYBODY have Entourage 2004 w/ SP2 (11.2.1) working correctly with network homes on OS X Panther/Tiger? We have implemented it and the Database is constantly just at random deciding its corrupted or the database deamon will crash when attempting to read public folder messages by clicking the "Get Entire Message" within the Email. I have heard others say MS told them they dont support network homes which I think is extremely lame and is a HUGE flaw in Office 2004 and makes it completely useless in the enterprise if it cant use network homes. I note that when I send an eMail, this header tag shows up with every account in the list - thus revealing to the rest of the world what my eMail account names are. How do you kill this "feature"?  - Entourage Archiving Best Practice?? I am looking for a solution that will let me easily archive old Entourage email messages and then later search and browse the archives (by to, from, dates, subject and contents if possible). I have tried MailSteward, which seems to be built for Apple Mail, and works so-so with Entourage. I also saw Entourage Email Archive X shareware, but haven't found any reviews or validation of how it works. To date, I have been archiving with Ent. and re-importing archives when I need to search for something. Seems there should be an easier (and faster) way. What do the MVP's suggest?? Thank you.  - Entourage 2004, IMAP error 1025 In Entourage 2004 I have an IMAP account set up. When I access the INBOX, Entourage shows this error: ERROR Mailbox vulnerable - directory /var/spool/mail must have 1777 protection Explanation Mail could not be received at this time. Account name: "<account name>" Error: 1025 This error does not occur in Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5 when I access the same IMAP e-mail account. Is there a solution for this error?  - Pictures within email require download Whenever I get images in an email, the Mactopia newsletter for example, they show up as empty boxes and I am required to clink on a link to download the image(s).  - deleted mail folder for some reason I have 6 emails in my deleted mail folder that will not delete. I have tried purging the folder, holding down the command key and pushing the delete key at the same time, i tired setting up a schedule to delete the mail, i changed the preview pane to none, nothing has worked. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this mail? I have read about rebuilding but I dont know exactly what that does and if it is what i need. Please advise.  - how to preserve categories when importing from Outlook 2003? I have used following method to import mails from Outlook 2003 to Entourage 2004. 1. Import to Thunderbird. 2. rename folder files' extensions in TB profile folder to .mbox 3. imported .mbox files to Entourage I observed that categories are not preserved in this way.  - Can't send message with large attachment I'm trying to send an e-mail with a large attachment. It's a music file--65-75 MG. Is this an impossibility? It won't send at all. For the last several months, I've noticed that every day or two
Entourage (11.2.1) on my machine will hang. I can work in other
programs no problem; just can't do anything in Entourage. After a few
minutes, the hang clears and Entourage operates perfectly normally.

It just happened today, and during the hang I launched Activity
Monitor. Seems the culprit is the Microsoft Database Daemon, which was
listed in red and "not responding" in Activity Monitor. When the
hang cleared the "not responding" message disappeared as well as
the red color (switched to normal black).

I understand the role of the daemon, but still don't think it should
cause the machine to hang like. I have rebuilt my database several
times, which is only 1.2 GB in size.

Any ideas?

Usually, you see this type of behavior when Entourage is downloading mail.
I'm not sure how the daemon is causing the hang.

Do you have multiple daemons in Login Items? If you see more than one
Microsoft Database daemon delete them all and let Entourage recreate a new
one.
