 - Entourage Calendar changes time of new appointments When my wife enters a new appointment on her Entourage 2004, it places it on the calendar for the ending time for the appointment.  - Links don't develop??? That may not be an accurate title. About half the time I download email using Entourage (Microsoft Entourage X for Mac Service Release 1, Version 10.1.6) I get a symbol for a link that, if things worked correctly, should develop into a picture. That fails to happen. I'm using a G5 (1.6 Ghz) Mac, running Mac OS X 10.5.2. Can anyone tell me what's wrong? It isn't a constant occurrence, just sporadic and sometimes (but not always) if I bounce up and down between one email and another the links will develop one, or two, at a time. Other times nothing changes, just the incompleted links are displayed. I'd appreciate any suggestions to fix this as its pretty annoying. jim I hope my explanation makes sense. If I could explain it exactly, I could probably fix it. I tried to use a picture of what I get as my avitar but don't know if that worked yet, guess I'll have to post this to find out.  - Alert sounds in Entourage 2008 Under Preferences-->Notification-->Sounds I have all the alert sounds (welcome, new mail, sent mail, etc.) "checked" but I ONLY hear the sounds when Entourage is started. That is to say, if I sent mail or get new mail after Entourage is already running, there is no alter sound. I am using Mac OS X.5.2 on a MacBook Pro and (obviously) I know my speakers work.  - New Entourage User. Help! I just got Entourage 2008 and set up my sbcglobal account in it. Whenever I get messages in my inbox on the yahoo server, the messages get copied to my computer and disappear from my inbox on the yahoo web site. This only happens with messages going to my inbox. My folders aren't affected. All the old messages stored in my inbox were also siphoned off. How can I get the messages back to my inbox on the yahoo server and get Entourage to stop eating them?  - Entourage 2004 and password expiration notification Email is on Exchange Server. I know with Entourage 2004 SP2 you receive a notice that your password will expire in so many days, but you have the option to "do not remind me again". After a user checks the "do not remind me again", how do you reset it so that the password expiration notification will show? I've looked in the Entourage preferences and I don't see where to reset it. Is there a plist file somewhere that holds this information? How do I get my password expiration notification back?  - Entourage temporarily freezes...why? sometimes when i wake the computer or after i get mail, entourage freezes for 5-10 seconds. i click on emails but nothing happens. once it unfreezes, it works perfectly. i am using office 2004 with entourage 11.4.0 and have system 10.5.2. i have lots of free space on my hard drive and 1 gig of RAM.  - Problem with Entourage and .Mac email I can not get Entourage (either X or 2004) to show messages from my .mac email account to appear in the primary (default) email account when I click on "Send and Receive All". It works with GMail and other accounts with my ISP, just not the Apple .mac account. I have tried creating new user accounts in both Entourage X and 2004, but just can not get the two to "play nice" together.  - Adding a Calendar entry to a second calendar Hi. This is a problem i'm having in Entourage 2008 that i never had in 2004. I have 2 calendars on my Exchange account. The first being the default Exchange calendar, and a second for other items, also on Exchange. It seems no matter how many different ways i add a calendar event in the second calendar, it always ends up saving into the default one and i have to move it to the second one. Even when i'm adding it, the window title actually says something along the lines of 'Adding Calendar Event to Calendar 2'. Yet when i save, it still goes to the first calendar.  - 2008 totally screws custom views So I just discovered that 1. Entourage 2008 makes it impossible to create custom views. You are forced to use the inferior saved search. However, it teases you by preserving the custom views you imported along with the Ent 2004 data, though you can't really modify these imported custom views. 2. The saved search is crap. First, it doesn't keep the pane arrangement I want (preview below), at least I can't figure out how to do this. Second, unlike a Custom View, the Saved Search must be recomputed each time you select it (which takes forever). The Custom View would take a while to create initially, but (once created) is kept up-to-date so that you can select it without delay for as long as Entourage is running. Finally, with a saved search (unlike a custom view) you don't have the "filter bar" so that you can sub-search by Subject, From, To (etc.) What is the matter with these M$ "developers". Abysmal.  - ACT! to Entourage I have just made the switch from pc to Mac. I have previously used ACT!, which is a CRM. My needs aren't heavy and detailed, and I don't even need entourage to help with e-mail. I just need to keep client info (name, address, phone #'s, etc.) However, I do need to be able to add calendar items by client, and add notes per client, that I can view relatively easily while speaking to that client. I'm having trouble finding the Entourage has that capability.  - Alert Sounds I just installed Office 2008. Entourage has no alert sounds. In trying to resolve, I restarted and the sounds were there. But they again disappeared. I restarted again but there is no change. All sounds are checked in the Entourage and Mac preferences. When checking and un-checking the various alert sounds in the Entourage prefs, there is no sound. When checking the sounds in the Mac prefs, the sounds are audible. Sounds worked in Office 2004.  - importing mac mail into entourage 08 hi guys, got my address book in after a bit of searching, that was not in the local help file by the way. i'd suggest you add that to the automated account setup of mail when you import messages. my question is this: imported my account and mailboxes and settings from mac mail (two seperate pop3 gmail based accounts). it looks fine except for the existing messages in the inbox for both accounts locally on my machine. they did not import. what should i do? thank you. ps great job on office and entourage. these were sorely missed while i struggled with iworks for the past 3 months as a new mac guy that was using vista.  - Lost all information in Entourage 2004 We opened Entourage and to our surprise there were no emails and all our account settings were gone. It was like opening it up for the first time. I tried rebuilding the database, but it did not fix anything.  - Exhange Rules are not working I recently upgraded to Office for Mac 2008 with Exchange Server Support. The installation and upgrade worked beautifully. However, all the messages that I receive go into the Inbox of my Exchange Server and the billion (being funny) rules I have made are not being recognized. Am I missing something?  - Entourage 2004 and iCal Aren't Syncing I am using Entourage 11.4 and the latest version of iCal. For some reason, I have lost the ability to sync my calendars. I can sync my contacts with AddressBook, but the events are not syncing with iCal. I have deleted the iCal folder in user/application support/iCal, but this has not been rebuilt.  - Entourage 2004 - slows my mac mini I have a Mac Mini running System Mac OSX 10.4.11 My Mac mini is model with 1.66 GHz Intel Core Duo Whenever i run Entourage 2004 or actually any part of the 2004 Suite. My system comes to a standstill. get the spinning beach ball. even just going from one email to the next causes up to a 5 minute delay. I have all the current updates to both my system software and to the MS Office Suite for 2004. Is there a fix that i am not aware of? I don't know if updating to 10.5 would help OR if updating to Office 2008 would help? I don't have funds to do BOTH. Preferably i would like to NOT spend money on any software at all right now.  - Entourage error message I am using Office 2004. When I open Entourage a message pops up: "Entourage cannot access your data. To attempt to fix the problem, rebuild tour database." When I click on OK, the Database Utility opens. I then click on either 1)Rebuild Database or 2) Verify Database Integrity.  - Delayed sending and receiving on 2008 I have another issue beside no chimes on incoming and outgoing mail. It seems to take a long time for mail to leave and arrive in my 2008. When I send mail to others and myself via my webmail, it is almost instant. When I go through Entourage, it sits in the outbox 10 minutes or more and does not arrive until way after my webmail does even though I hit the Send/Receive button for immediate send and receiving.  - Missing Text from "Reply" SO far so good on the initial release but I have finally come across a show stopper bug. SYSTEM - 10.4.11 Intel MacBook Pro Office '08 When hitting reply on some message sent by Office '08 it does not include anything beyond the header of the original message. OBVIOUS I do not have anything highlighted which would cause a selected quoting of text in the reply I have "Include entire message in reply" checked as well as "Place reply at top of message and include From, Date, To, and Subject lines from original Message." TIDBITS I run personally on 10.5.1 Intel MacBook Pro Office '08 and do not have the same problem when my wife send me messages from her 10.4.11 computer but from me she can not and has to Fwd to include the entire message body without copying and pasting.  - Receiving "private" emails from Outlook I need to open two private emails sent to me from someone using Outlook. The email attachment is titled message.rpmsg. When I click on the attachment, it asks me if I am sure that I want to open it and when I click open, nothing happens. The body of the message says that I have received a message with restricted permission. If you are not running Microsoft Office 2003 or an e-mail application that supports messages with restricted permission, you can view this message by downloading the Rights Management Add-on for Internet Explorer from http://r.office.microsoft.com/r/rlidRestrictedPermissionViewer?clid=1033 When I go to that site to download it, it downloads a validation tool to make sure that I am running real Microsoft products (I have legal Office) but when I try to open the downloaded executable file, it says that I don't have an application which can open it. When I forward an email, it doesn't forward in the same format (all links are converted to plain text and no pictures forward) and I use HTML.  - Is there a way to turn off the ">" quoting I just set up Entourage 2008 to use with my .mac email account. I am trying to figure out how to keep my reply emails from including the ">", ">>", etc. characters in the existing text. I already unchecked "Use quoting characters when forwarding" in Preferences -->Mail & News Preferences-->Reply & Forward, but can't turn off the quoting characters for replies. Also, for what it's worth, I disabled quote levels in Mac Mail although I doubt it matters. Any ideas? I know that I can strip the quote characters from an individual reply by clicking Edit-->AutoText Clean Up-->Remove Quoting but I was hoping there was a way to set my preferences in advance just as we can do for forwarded messages. For me, this is basically a cosmetic issue but I am used to the Outlook format where quoting characters are an option that can be disabled (they can be disabled in Mac Mail as well). I know that the support information says that MSN will automatically delete messages and that is why it errors out in Entourage - but it doesn't. I have to sign in on the web to delete. Anyone heard if this is going to change anytime soon?

We have nothing to do with MSN on this newsgroup. We only deal with
downloading into Entourage.

In your Entourage Account, do you have delete set up? Look under the options
tab. Re check your settings for your MSN account on the web.
