Fistly, hello everyone! I use Microsoft Entourage as my e mail
programme. I have had it for about 2 months and it has been working
perfectly. I have hundred of e mails, personal and work, in sub folders
within the programme. On Tuesday night I decided to start using
Filevault and password protect and encrypt my home folder. I came to my
computer this morning and powered it up as normal. I logged in, went to
the dock and clicked on the entourage logo as usual and the programme
started up, all as normal. To my horror all my e mails, accouts etc etc
have dissapeared! Its just like its the first time the programme has
been started. No POP account or anything? I'm not saying this is
anything to do with Filevault but its funny its just happened now. I
have looked all round my hard drive and cant find my e mails anywhere.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as there was some very
important e mails in there that I have to try and get access to. Thanks
in advance!

Your emails and suchlike are inside your home folder, inside
Documents/Microsoft User Data, in the Identities folder; they are in a
file called Database. You probably now have two such Database files, one
for your old identity and one for the new one that just got created. You
may be able to fix the problem by changing identities within Entourage.
If not, you may be having a permissions problem; you will probably have
to repair this manually from within the Terminal. m.
