I have two email accounts in Entourage and one of them takes considerably longer to post to recipients.

Here is the situation:
Both accounts are Yahoo/AT&T, one is free and those get posted almost immediately and the other is a paid domain email address. I've tested this several times by sending myself emails from both accounts addressed to both accounts. The free yahoo account will post the emails to my web mail server within seconds of sending them from Entourage. The emails sent from the paid account can take from 6-24 hours to arrive.

I've run this same test from Outlook (on my Boot Camp Windows OS) and there is no difference in receiving emails. I have to believe that something in Entourage doesn't like the smpt or pop.bizmail.yahoo.com protocol. I am interested in any fixes you might have for this situation.

Thanks.

Once the messages have been sent to the server then Entourage is out of
the picture.

I suspect you have slightly different settings in your Entourage account
that are possibly causing some routing issues but only Yahoo/AT&T can
help you trace what's happening when your messages have been sent.

This is a known issue with Yahoo! and has been discussed at length on this
newsgroup. It has to do with not using the correct server settings.

Adam, thanks for the link to the Yahoo Blog.

Those settings are for the free yahoo email accounts and didn't apply to the biz-mail settings or Entourage 2008.

Based on your email and Mr. Smith's post I contacted AT&T/Yahoo Web Hosting who helped me trouble shoot the situation.

I learned several things:
1. being that their published settings require Entourage SSL box be unchecked (contrary to their instructions),
2. that the port settings have changed so I now use port 587 for SMTP and
3 my own email address ended up in the blocked email address in my Yahoo email settings. Once I unblocked the email address everything works like it should.

thanks for the quick response and help in getting me pointed in the right direction.
