By mistake I identified a custom dictionary other than the default. Now I
can't locate the original custom dictionary. Where is it?

The only "custom dictionary" Entourage will let me substitute is from my
American Heritage dictionary, which doesn't hold my words. Your help will be
appreciated. I've not had much luck with Microsoft directly.

The default location for the Custom Dictionary is in the

~:Library:Preferences:Microsoft

folder. That doesn't necessarily mean it's your "original" if you
specified a different location when it was created.

Did you do a Spotlight search for "Custom Dictionary"?

Hi,
I've looked in the Preferences folder and there is no Microsoft. I see my
printer and adobe folders, among others, but no Microsoft. A posting for an
earlier version of either a Mac OS, or Entourage, sent me to the same
location. In Leopard, it's gone.

Any other ideas?

Not really - if you don't have a Microsoft folder inside your

~:Library:Preferences:

folder, that would seem to indicate that you've never started an Office
app in that account.
