    - Calendar and address book for (Mac Only) I have several choices including Apple Mail & Address Book, Norton Now Contact and Now-Up To Date which I own. I am thinking of using Entourage Address Book and Calendar. Now Contact and Now-Up To Date are in my opinion are superior in the features category, and they are stable using 10.2.8. Entourage I use along with Office X all day every day in my business. What do you think? This is serious stuff so no PC users.     - Entourage Quits when trying to switch identities Entourage randomly quits when switching identities. It randomly occurs with all 3 established identities. What will happen, specifically, is that I will choose "switch identities" either on the menu or by keyboard shortcut, and the dialog box to choose the identities never appears. When I try again, it crashes. I've slimmed down my databases and rebuilt them, both the simple and advanced rebuilds, but this hasn't helped.     - Search by Interests We own a small clothing boutique. Often we have requests for specific items and I've been entering those into "Interests" under the Personal tab. I'd like to periodically search the field for specific items so that if they are in the store I can e-mail for call the customer. However, I am now realizing that this is not a searchable field and, to boot, you cannot create a custom field in the Personal tab.     - Entourage/Palm/Outlook I have a Mac iBook at home and a PC at work. I had been Hotsyncing my Palm Vx to the Palm desktop on my iBook and to Outlook (using Chapura) at work. I switched to the Entourage conduit on the Mac and now the Palm will not Hotsync with Outlook. Any suggestions as to how to make both conduits work would be appreciated. (Also, three members of my family Hotsync their Palms with the Mac. The Palm desktop recognised them automatically but using Entourage each person has to manually change the conduit setting in Hotsync. Is there any way around this?)     - Duplicate email download via POP I access a pop account with entourage. I have it set to leave messages on server for 10 days. I receive emails and delete some, read some etc. Every few days, however, Entourage re-downloads all of the messages (often several hundred) and I have to sort through them again. This is very frustrating. Can anyone help identify the cause of this behaviour? My isp says the problem is in Entourage loosing track of which messages have already been downloaded.     - Cannot sync Palm VIIx with Entourage I have updated to Office 10.1.2 and still get the message "the connection between your handheld and the desktop could not be established".     - Save as Web Page When I save my calendar as a web page, I'd like all of the associated files to have the same names and paths as before, but Entourage doesn't allow this; it says the name is already taken. I end up having to delete the files first before I can save an update to my calendar, which is very fussy and annoying.     - Cannot print email After using Entourage for about a year, I have suddenly developed a problem. I can no longer print an email message. I can print from other applications (Safari, iPhoto, etc.). I can even print newsgroup message using Entourage. But when I select a email message and click on the print button or do a File -> Print, I get the spinning color wheel and Entourage is locked up until I do a Force Quit. I am running Entourage version 1.1.4 on a dual G$ Mac with OS version 10.3 and a Canon S820 printer. The only software change that I made recently is installing some software for a Canon scanner.     - importing, mbox files and contact export file I have created MBOX-format files of the Inbox and Sent Items box in Entourage 2001 (on my old iMac) so that I may import them into Entourage X on my new iMac. However, when I attempt to import, Entourage X does not recognize the files in the dialog window...nor can I drag them to the folder window as the documentation suggests.     - Entourage calendar sync Running X and Entourage X.Trying to sync a Palm Tungsten C with Entourage. Have downloaded all of the updates that I can find for Palm(4.1), Entourage(10.1.4), Office X(10.1.5) and Mac X(10.2.8). I can get all other apps to sync (even address books) but can't get the calendar to sync. Have gone into Entourage and 'limited' all re-occurring events so there are none open ended. I have gone into Palm and put all conduit managers into the 'disabled conduit manager' file, leaving only the Entourage conduit manager - but this hasn't worked either.     - Error 192 After upgrading to 10.3 in mid-November, my wife and I started using Entourage with Fast User Switching enabled. After 2 days, we both received error -192 from Entourage, so I searched this forum and found a similar report and a recommendation to make sure the 10.1.5 Entourage update had been applied. I checked and found we were on 10.1.4, so I applied 10.1.5. Also, I performed a regular rebuild of both Entourage databases (for each user - my wife's and mine). The error still occurred after a few days, so I performed an advanced rebuild on both databases. My wife just alerted me to an error - she doesn¹t remember if -192 was the exact error, but by the time I looked into it, the exact same behavior was present (i.e. Can not Quit Entourage, must do a 'Force Quit' using Activity Monitor; mouse-over of any of the 6 action panes (Mail, Address Book, calendar, Notes, Tasks, Custom) changes the icon to a grid with no icon).     - Entourage X and IMAP Adminstration Hello, On MacOS 9 and Outlook Express 5, I had configure an adminstrative account (by using the 626 port) to manage the user's accounts on my server (G4 with MacOS 9 and AppleShare IP 6). I recently moved on MacOS X (Panther) and Entourage X. I successfully imported all data from OE. Everything seems to work fine except the Adminstrative account. Impossible to get the full list of folders for this account (with OE I had one folder for each user). Each time I have the following error: "Error -17949, LIST completed". I tried to configure a similar account with the Mail application provided with Panther and everything run as expected! Is there any advice about this problem ? Can I set default format to start reply message above the copy of the original message, so that I don't have to move my cursor every time and/or the recipient doesn't have to scroll through their own original message to get to my reply (which they may not even realize is there)?     - Keychain/Password issue Hello all I have an interetsing problem where for SOME of my email accounts (2 pop, 1 hotmail) Entourage seems to have spontaneously forgtten the saved passwords and refuses to save the re-entered passwords into the Keychain. I've tried the following: 1) deleting the relevant Keychain entry 2) re-entering the password and selecting "save into Mac OS Keychain" 3) running Keychain First Aid 4) restarting Note that one of my pop accounts runs perfectly throughout this whole business, and has never lost nor asked me to re-enter the password.     - Calendar Bug? If, in the Calendar, I enter an event, recurring yearly, beginning August 1, 2004, the event does not show on the calendar. If I enter it in a year in which Aug 1 isn't the first calendar block, it is normal. It also works normally in other months where the first falls in the first calendar block.     - Views I am running OS 12.2.8. Until this morning I had a split pane view where I was able to scroll through the headers in the upper pane and view a highlighted message in the lower pane.     - Emails are sent as attachments I am currently sending my emails as HTML. However, when I send my email and attach an attachment, then the email is also sent as an attachment. Users come to me and state that they are not getting anything when I send them emails. Is there a setting that I need to set in order for the recipients of my email to see the actual email?     - "Could not open that feature. The end of file was reached." I am running OS 10.2.8 and Office 10.1.5 on a 12" G4 PowerBook. No new software installs since the 10.2.8 upgrade from 10.2.4 a month or so ago. I rebuild my entourage DB today as I do about every two or three weeks just for good measure. This time when it started back up: I can see the current e-mail and subfolders on the left, but if we click on the Inbox specifically, I get the following error: "Could not open that feature. The end of file was reached." There is no error number accompanying the message. I have done several advanced rebuilds. Same thing. What is odd is that as long as I go to subfolders, I can view them in the browsing pane. It is the Inbox that gets this error. And following that, I can not view the subfolders either. If I quit and restart, same story. I have trashed my preferences. I have run disk utility. I have repaired permissions. I created a new identity and coped the DB over to that identity's folder and that actually worked--for a few starts. Now...same story. Any ideas? This app is my business. Help. Directory services in Entourage used to work fine. After upgrading
Office v.X to 10.1.4 and 10.1.5, Entourage now crashes when I query
directory services for a name.

I noticed that Matthew Soltis posted the same problem on 11/4/03; however,
no one replied.

Any troubleshooting ideas? Could a preferences file be corrupted?
