Insertion points in message

As a recent Mac convert from PC, I have also switched from PC Office to Office 2008. Specific question is in PC Office when I was replying to a message and I wrote a comment within their message, I could have my initials put at that point and also change the typeface of my comment vs the existing text from the other person. I can't seem to find that ability in Mac 2008 Office. Is this available? Is there something I am missing?

Could it be that the message you¹re replying to was in text, not HTML, thus
no choice of typefaces, or color? Not sure, just an idea.

the point was in windows the change of font and/or color is done automatically in preferences...just wondering why this is not the case in Mac version...as you need to color it yourself...

This feature is not available in Entourage.
