 - Entourage 08 sync with Blackberry I recently upgraded to Microsoft Office 08 and the ability to sync with my Blackberry has stopped. I receive an error message of " Could not locate the Microsoft Entourage Office Synchronization Tool " I have used the PocketMac SyncManager from Blackberry when running Entourage 04 with no issue for quite some time.  - After reboot I am having problems with preferences being lost after a reboot.  - Entourage 2004 sync problem We are having a problem with Entourage 2004-We are connecting to MS exchange server 2003 with Entourage on our Macs. We started having a problem on some e-mail accounts. It Usually happens when we set up the account on Entourage. Usually due to a reinstall. Entourage will start downloading all of their e-mail and folders but somewhere along the download it stops downloading their email. So you have some email in the inbox as well as in the folders, but it never downloads all. then it continuously says updating inbox, folders, etc, but in reality it has stopped downloading. Once it stops downloading the emails it just stays in this updating folders mode. It will keep switching folders it says it is updating but it never stops or gives an error. We have tried reinstalling, making sure we have all the updates for the OSX and MS office, but no luck. We run into this error on Tiger and Leopard even on fresh installs.  - Entourage mail Hello! I have a few niggling issues with Entourage on my Mac... Firstly, suspected junk email doesn't go to the Junk Mail folder but stays in the Inbox (I have filtering set to "High")... Secondly, "Block Sender" doesn't work as mail still arrives from senders I have blocked several times... Thirdly, what does "Apply Junk Email Protection" do (it comes up as an option on folders when control-clicked)... And lastly a suggestion - it would be great if email folders could be highlighted as projects, so they appeared in the project colours, making it easier to associate project emails with their correct folder.  - Can't launch Entourage When I try to launch Entourage (Mac OS 10.4.10), the following message is displayed: "You do not have write access to the Entourage application folder. To run Entourage you must have the administrative user remove the Identities folder from the application folder. For more information, see the Entourage Read Me file.  - mail won't remain on server I have been having a problem trying to get mail from one of my accounts to remain on the server, so that I can access it from a different location. It's a gmail account, which I access as a POP. For a long time, I purposely had it so that when it downloaded to Entourage, it would only be there. However, I have decided I would like it to stay on the server now. I tried to do this by checking the "leave a copy of each message on the server" checkbox. However, nothing has changed....the gmail site stil won't pull up e-mail that has been downloaded to my version of Entourage. I've tried unchecking this box, saving, then reopening and rechecking the box, but still, my email refuses to stay on the server.  - Deleting e-mail I have an e-mail message which will not go away. It is now in the "Deleted Items" trash can but I cannot delete it. I get the message "An unknown error (4362) has occured." and then cannot close Entourage except by Force Quit. Also, the error log is not available which suggests I have no errors.  - How do I send a calendar event to someone via email I'm using Entourage and Outlook as my main calendars/Address Book. I use Outlook because it will sync directly with my Windows Mobil 6 Phone without the hassle of iCal and Address Book. I also use Pocket Quicken and that's not supported on the Mac. With that said Outlook is here for a while until someone can figure out how to sync with Entourage without going through iSync (categories are lost which are very important to me) I can send anyone a calendar event or address card from Outlook, like my wife, so she doesn't have to enter all of the data, just open the attachment to the email and save it in her Outlook. I want to be able to do the same thing when I schedule a calendar event (I do not want to use the Invite Function because it doesn't recognize my email address and I don't want it listed as a Task) in Entourage. I do this to share events with others and my Outlook file. Export won't let me export just one event. There has to be a way of using Entourage email to send a calendar event but I can't find the solution anywhere on Mactopia. Any help is appreciated. I can send an address card from Entourage via email even-though some data gets corrupted (address fields in particular) and category's get dropped. Thanks for your help.  - Saving the sent mail in the Inbox Hi all, I am using Entourage 2008 and I have an Exchange account setup in it (from work). Now at work we use Outlook 2003 and I have a rule that saves a copy of all the outgoing messages in the Inbox. And I am looking to replicate the same functionality in Entourage, but so far I am unable to. I wasn't able to find a way to specify that the rule should apply only to outgoing messages. Is it possible to do this? If yes, how? If the rule route doesn't work, is it possible to somehow set the "sent mails" folder to be the Inbox for an Exchange account? If yes, how?  - Calendar showing old appointments when syncing with Exchange When Entourage syncs with Exchange, it is adding appointments that are 1-3 years old in the 2008 year calendar. I've tried emptying the calendar cache and re-syncing the calendar but it comes up the same. Is this a known issue? Does anyone know if this is being addressed in the March update?  - Microsoft Database Utility has encountered a Using database utility to rebuild my database as I cannot open Entourage: "a problem with database and suggests to rebuild database." Rebuild goes to step 5/5 and then the database utility application quits with error.  - Cut and Paste From WORD 2008 I just installed Office 2008 at work and tried to cut and paste a table from a WORD doc onto a webpage in Dreamweaver. This is a simple operation I do all the time to update content on our school's webpage. It simply would not paste the content onto the webpage in Dreamweaver. It tried a number of times in different ways. when I re-opened WORD 2004 I was able to perform this simple task. What's going on here? Any ideas?  - Entourage 2008 and Exchange 2000 Hello, I am having a strange issue. We have an exchange 2000 server which will be upgrading here soon. We have a MAC user that uses Entourage 2008, well it syncs fine and looks like it is running great. We have noticed though that it isnt receiving all the email. It doesnt receive half the sharepoint announcements or even some email in the internal contacts. So we have to load up OWA once in while to see what emails he is missing. It doesnt make much since to me. I have added the internal domain to safe senders to see if that would be the problem, but that didnt seem to help, any ideas?  - Entourage OSX rebuilds don't seem to work Hi, my e-mail capacity was 3ish gigs, but last night, I suddenly couldn't attach a couple of documents to an outgoing e-mail. I quit Entourage and started a typical rebuild. The message came back, telling me there was not enough room to rebuild, even though I have ample space on my hard drive. I finally ditched 12 gigs of stuff and was able to do a rebuild. I've done both typical and advanced and each time, the message comes up to compact my e-mail because I have reached the 4 gig capacity. It won't let me into my e-mail so I can dump some stuff.  - Entourage 08 Tasks Whenever attempting to create tasks in Entourage 08, the app attempts to set start and due dates in 1970. I've tried to change the dates, but it will not let me, and when I save the task, it says, "You're trying to enter a date in the past, are you sure you want to continue?"  - Mail merge through Entourage Hi, Today I wanted to mailmerge a document and send it via Entourage to my contacts. But when Entourage attempt to send off my emails, then the error -17099 (recipient email must contain a domain) and -3260 (Entourage can not connect to the server, Verify that your computer is connected to the network) occur. What is a girl to do? I have contacted my ISP who says that I should be able to send up to 15 emails at a time, so the number of emails does not seem to be the problem. (that should be error -17009 solved?) I can send single emails directly using Entourage, but when I get a reply and then want to respond to that reply, then I'm told that there is a relay problem.  - saved messages gone while updating I bought another copy of Office for Mac (2004) so that two people can use office on our network and thought I had saved messages on my computer but when I started up new copy none of those messages would import. I can't find them anywhere. Were they overwritten? I tried dragging Office out of the trash and putting newer copy into trash, starting Entourage. New screen, all messages seem to have vanished. I neglected to check the box "save copy on server" (although I have done that now!) so that's not a help. Any ideas where these messages may be found or are they really gone?  - Bad Syntax Error -17099 I am using MS Entourage 2004 on OS X and am receiving the following error when I send/receive: Bad recipient address syntax. Explanation: Mail could not be sent. Error: -17099 I know the email where the bad syntax occurs, however I already deleted it from my Sent folder (and also from the deleted folder) in order to resolve the error. I STILL get the error and am unable to find the "problem" email since I deleted it. Is it still haunting me from beyond the deleted files grave? Is there a script I can use to turn off this annoying error, which occurs every time I send/receive? I've scoured the Internet for an answer but came up empty handed. Thanks in advance for your help.  - Exporting entourage calendar to exchange We recently installed an exchange server and I am in the process of getting everything moved and set up on the server. I am currently using Entourage 2004, V 11.4.0 and can't figure out how to export or move all of my historic, current, and future calendar entries to the exchange calendar. I tried doing an export and selecting only the calendar but it returns an error (something about group contacts) and will not complete the export. It shows up on my laptop but when I go to the desktop, it's gone. I leave the machine connected - and it says its done syncing. I'll notice pieces of mail get there, but large chucks are missing.  - Entourage 2008 And Treo I received the following email from A user this morning. I have searched every forum ad newsgroup that I know of. I hope someone here can assist? The problem is as follows: The problem is arising when I (1) send mail from an email client other than my copy of entourage on my work mac, and then (2) open up entourage. so, for example, I sent this message below from my treo at around 11:30am, and then came to the office and launched entourage at 2:10 pm. As Entourage does its initial sync with the Exchange server something's going wrong. The sent message is already resident on the Exchange server (having been sent earlier from my treo), but it isn't syncing down to Entourage properly. Instead Entourage shows the message as having been sent at 2:10 (which is when I launched entourage) and shows no information for whom the message was sent to. And then when I open the message in entourage it looks like the garbled thing below. Any thoughts on what might be causing this problem with the server sync?  - I receive an error message Hellp! I've got Entourage X for Mac on my powerbook G4. One day it was working fine, the next day when I came to collect my emails as it was opening it up I got a message saying "the application Entourage has unexpectedly quit", which it did. I opened it again and got a message "the action cannot be completed. Mail error". I can actually open it, move around in my inbox, sent items etc, and can also access the internet. I've also just found (after a morning of TEARING MY HAIR) that I can even send and receive mail by using the Entourage tool bar at the very top of my screen and my keypad keys, but what I can't do is use the reply, forward, delete etc buttons as normal. They aren't grey, they look normal, they flash when I click on them, but nothing happens. I can't get phone help as X for Mac is no longer supported by phone, so I've gone to the Microsoft support website and found an article which seems to be talking about exactly my problem. This advises me to first to try running a "typical rebuild of identity" by holding down the option key, double clicking the Entourage X icon, clicking typical rebuild, clicking ok. But I have no option key! I gather from an apple forum that this should be two keys left from the spacebar, with alt at the top (mine does say alt on it but doesn't say option on it - none of my keys do.) I've tried holding this key down and double clicking the icon but all it does is open entourage. Try as I might I can't find a box that says typical rebuild in it. Any ideas, before I'm completely bald? Thanks very much and sorry to go on so long....if I can't sort it I guess I just carry on using my email but the long winded way I've just found, but think I should try to sort this if I can....  - Exchange 2003 performanace issues with Entourage Clients We currently have an issue since move mailboxes from one Exchange 2003 server to another. This was due to the need to upgrade server hardware. We have 22 Entourage users that are scattered across two Information Stores. 10 on the first store and 12 on the second store. We are getting very high disk writes on the second information i.e. the store with 12 entoruage users. The first store is unaffected. We have investigated that the issue is caused by the Entourage users by asking all Entourage clients to disconnect from the Exchange 2003 server. We have then asked them to connect to the server one by one. We have found that with one of the Entourage users connected, they cause high disk writes. This has been mointored using PerfMon. This is effecting the performance for all users with Outlook clients complaining of slowness when switching calendars or shared mailboxes. We have researched this issue and I must say it is a common one. The article:- http://www.macwindows.com/041107d.html states that the issue has arisen due to the move of the entourage user mailboxes as there email has not been converted to Non MAPI hence causing high disk writes as each mail is read everytime it is accessed. We have followed through all the fixes listed and have got some improved performance but the issue is still not resolved. Can anyone please advise on any steps to take to resolve this issue. Our current network structure is:- 3 DC's. 2 Exchange Servers. All is the same Storage Groups. Approx 100 Outlook Users 22 Entourage / Mac Users.  - Entourage 2004 crashing with Exchange calendar after 10.5.2 update Hi folks - hope you can help. I've had Entourage 2004 talking to my workplace's Exchange server for over 12 months, pulling down my email account, plus a number of shared calendars and a shared address book, with little/no problems. Last week, after installing Apple's 10.5.2 Leopard update (along with the Leopard Graphics Update), I opened Entourage to find a problem with the database, and duly rebuilt as per the program's instructions. Ever since, having re-synced with the server I have all my emails but the program instantly locks up if I try and access the calendar (using the Calendars button). Everything, including the Progress window, freezes where it was and the only way out is a restart. Trying to restart straight away just locks up on the opening pane (before the main window opens), and if I leave it a while it comes back. I've tried removing Office and reinstalling, with a brand new identity etc, all Sync Services are off, and still have the same problem. Is this a fault with my software, or with the calendar I'm trying to pull from the server? I'm currently stuck with the less-than-satisfactory webmail access for my calendar. Help!  - HELP PLEASE - Entourage SUDDENLY stopped receiving mails? Hi I have been using Entourage with my Exchange account for about 8 months, through both Entourage 2004 and now 2008 and it has worked flawlessly. Today however for no apparent reason I sopped receiving email into my Exchange inbox. All my other accounts seem to be working fine and I can still SSEND emails from my Exhange account. Just nothing coming in. Both Webmail and Outlook running under VMware prove I DO have inbound emails but they are not arriving in my Exchange email folder. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!  - remove calendar icon from toolbar and left side menu I am a new user and there are a lot of things I like about Entourage but all I want is an email program, not a calendar or to-do list. This seems to be a little bloated, sort of like the old WIN Outlook and what I want is Outlook Express for the MAC. So, how do I remove the icons mentioned in my Subject line? In addition to the Mailing List Manager, check your Rules. Both are in the
Tools menu. In Rules make sure you're checking all the tabs - POP for POP
accounts, IMAP for IMAP accounts, etc.

If you're absolutely positively sure there are no rules involved, try
creating a new identity (Entourage (menu) > Switch Identity) and see if it
happens there. See if this problem happens with a new identity. If not, then
it may indicate some corruption and you should transfer your mail over.
