Entourage 2004 attempts to dial while online using bluetooth
While online using broadband via ethernet or wireless, I have no
problem sending and receiving mail. But when I'm online using
bluetooth and a cell phone modem and attempt to send or receive mail,
Entourage attempts to dial using the internal modem and then tells me
my connection has failed because I've failed to enter a telephone
number.
Any assistance (or fix) would be greatly appreciated.

In Entourage 2004 the Japanese dictionary is not available in the

Why is Entourage moving my messages?
I'm perplexed by Entourage's behavior moving messages from one folder
to another.
Some messages from my IMAP folder are filed into my "Folders on My
Computer" Inbox. I don't have any rules set up to do so, and have
disabled Junk Mail filtering but I'm still seeing it. Are messages
that don't initially have address book entries handled differently?
How do I change this behavior?
Thanks for any guidance you can provide me.

SMTP issues all of a sudden
Today, it would seem that Comcast started blocking port 25, making it
impossible to send e-mail from .Mac using port 25 to smtp.mac.com. I
can send using smtp.comcast.net, without authentication, however. This
is fine, except that I also need to send mail from my .mac account at
work and other places, and must now change the smtp server settings in
Entourage each time I change location (which I have never had to do!).
Using smtp.mac.com and other ports do not work since these apparently
are not supported (like SSL) at comcast.
Any suggestions, other than changing my SMTP settings each time I'm
using my iBook at a different location? Is there any way to get
SMTP.mac.com to be accepted via a different port (I tried 587 and 110
but Comcast seems not to accept these). Thanks! Tag: Importing .pst into Entourage Tag: 45291

Hi Guys,
Yes .... I know that there have been many emails about this problem.
Simply put ... I'm running 10.3.5 with Office 2004 and Entourage. When
connected either through either wired Ethernet or airport, everything is
great. When I connect through my analog modem, I can access the internet

Snooze Next AM; Internet Headers
I first noticed these issues when I was using Entourage X; I was hoping that
Entourage 2004 would fix the problems, but it didn't.
1. I can no longer get Office Notifications to remind me of a non-recurring
event when I say "Snooze Until Tomorrow Morning." (Recurring events will
snooze until tomorrow morning.) All Time/Date System Preferences are
correct; I even installed a new battery (G4-933) and rebuilt the Entourage
database. (There are no multiple copies of Daemon in the Startup Items
either.)
2. I have "Show Internet Headers" selected in the Mail and News Preferences
"View," but I see no internet headers. (The "Internet Headers" is grayed
out under the Entourage View menu whether or not I have the option enabled
in the preferences.)
I'm convinced that some Entourage preference must be corrupted which would
explain why the imported preference during the 2004 update didn't eliminate
the problem that started in X. I have many calendar events and am reluctant
to delete and re-create the entire account. Any assistance is sincerely
appreciated.

Junk e-mail button... what does it do?
Aside from assigning a message to the junk folder, does the junk e-mail
button in Entourage 2004 create some sort of filter such that if I ever
receive another message from the same address it will be immediately
filtered to the junk folder? I've checked Entourage help and it doesn't
have any information about this and the way I see it, if it doesn't do this

I am a premium Hotmail subscriber so why won't Entourage work with Hotmail
Yeah I know the new Hotmail scam under the vail of spam but I am on
the premium plan. I paid my $19.99 and have been happily using my

but that all came to a screaching halt on Sept. 23rd and I have not
recovered after well in excess of six hours of my life trying. This
is unacceptable but what's worse is that Hotmail are referring this
problem to Microsoft product support as if it were an Entourage issue.
Get it straight Hotmail support and straighten out the problem for
your best customers - the paying one's, and how about a grace period
for the standard hotmail users. A little warning would have gone a

Sync Entourage between PowerBook and iMac
I'm using Entourage 2004, Panther, and tying to sync Entourage between
my networked PowerBook G4 and iMac. The PowerBook is my main comupter.
I followed Paul Berkowitz's suggestion to copy the Main Identity
folder from one computer into the other. I quit Entourage on both
computers and disconneceted from the Net before doing so. Even so, I
keep getting a variety of messages saying that the folder can't be
copied because something is "in use" (identies, signatures, database
etc.) What gives? In Entourage 2001, I had to make a copy of the
Identity file and transfer that over; I tried that and it didn't work
either.
I've used Sync Entourage - Address Book to sync to the Address Book;
is there a way to use Sync to syne the files from the PowerBook to the
iMac?
Here is Paul Berkowitz's suggestion to someone on another thread:
The simplest way is to regularly copy your identity folder from the
more
up-to-date computer to the other one, overwriting. You need to have
the name
of your identity the same on both computers - by default, if you
haven't
changed it, it's "Main Identity". If you _have_ changed it (at "Switch
Identity...") in one Entourage, do the same in the other.
Your identity folder is found on each computer here:
~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities/Main
Identity/
where "~" means your OS user folder (actually at /Users/[username]/).
The
Documents folder is the one appearing in the left bar of Finder
windows, at
the bottom.
All you need to do is copy the "Main Identity" folder - which contains
your
Database and support files which must be kept together - to the Office
2004
Identities folder in the same place on the other computer, replacing.
That
will update everything - messages, contacts, calendar, etc. - all in
one
fell swoop. It does mean that you'll have the same mail accounts in
both
places too. (If you can't use one of them at the other location,
that's OK.
Just remember to not remove it from the Send & Receive All schedule
there.) Tag: Importing .pst into Entourage Tag: 45202

Back up Entourage in Office 2004
I am using Entourage in Office for Mac 2004. I connect to an Exchange server
via VPN. Entourage works flawlessly, and is fast becoming my PIM of choice,
far and away better than Outlook. The programmers should be congratulated
for turning out a winner.
I do worry about recovering from a hardware failure. I realize that a lot of
information is in Exchange, but what about Projects and Notes?
What do I need to back up on my Mac to make sure that I can fully recover
from a failure?
Many Thanks

Entourage calendar view
Is there a way to customize the calendar view like it can be done with
Outlook? I have Office 2004 and in Entourage calendar the right pane shows
all my tasks and what I like to do is customize the view so to see only the
one's that are due the next seven days not all of them for the next 20 years
which scares the heck out of me because I will never get them done!
There is a custom view for the next seven days but that shows the
appointments not the tasks. Tag: Importing .pst into Entourage Tag: 45186
Error 1501 server issues with Entourage
Can anyone let us know what is going on with the hotmail servers and what we
can expect as far as a resolution?? Why would Microsoft cut out it's own
products?? Isn't hotmail part of the whole MSN deal?
There are posts on the old news server, but they suggested a thread on this
one to get more help.
Please help!!

For some reason, when I send an email to multiple address it is only
being sent to the first address listed. Any clues out there?

Does anyone know if Entourage 2004 syncs both ways with MS Exchange Server?
I am currently only able to sync one way from Entourage Calendar to
Exchange. Calendar items created with Outlook Web Access for Exchange, and
Outlook 2003 do not sync back to the Entourage calendar. Any thoughts are
appreciated.

short username sent to WebDAV
I'm having trouble getting Entourage X to show my Exchange Mailbox Contacts
and Calendar items. I ran TCPFlow to see what was happening during the
account-creation process, and found that Entourage was trying to log onto my
Exchange server not with the Exchange user ID I had supplied, but with the
short username of my Mac!
Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it (other
than by changing the short username of my Mac, which is kludgey and a pain)?
Thanks in advance! Tag: Importing .pst into Entourage Tag: 45162
cursor default position at bottom of message
I have updated my Entourage to 10.1.4, and have a problem that none of our
other Macs running Entourage have. When I reply to messages, the cursor
defaults to the bottom of the message, instead of the top. I have searched
through my preferences and there is not a preference for cursor position.

cached exch. mode?
Hi, NG!
I'm new to the Mac world, I don't even use it, but my boss just got one...
So, here it comes my question, is there an "exchange cached mode" feature of
Entourage, the way OL2003 has? My boss is abroad, he used to use his
TabletPC, but now he just got this G5 and he wants to read his e-mail on it.
I wouldn't like to use POP3.
Or maybe there's somebody who knows whether or not the mail application(?)
in OS-X does have such a feature. (Even if this is not a Mac newsgroup...)
Thanks.

HotSync Manager Dies at Entourage Conduit
I have 3 clients that recently upgraded to Office 2004.
One T3, one Zire 71, one Treo 600. They've all been able
to sync until recently. Now, with Palm Desktop 4.2.1,
they try to sync and the HotSync Manager just goes away
when it reaches "Entourage Conduit". Sometimes it will
make it all the way to "Date Book" on the Palm, but the
computer is still the same--HotSync Manager dies.
Occasionally I get the Error Report window to tell
Microsoft and Apple of the problem...so I'm guessing the
computer thinks its the Entourage conduit that has the
problem. Has anyone else experienced this? Any possible
solutions?

recover address book and mail boxes
A hard drive failure has me searching for where to find the old address
book and mail boxes. I'm able to copy files over from the old, dying drive
to the new one but don't know what I'm looking for here. Hopefully, it's
not too obvious (Doh!).
