Hi ;-)

Does sync between iCal and Entourage (2008) only work one way? I would like
to see in Entourage and My Day all events and to do items which I have
stored in iCal.

Thanks
Martin

Sync is supposed to be bi-directional, but unless you're running the latest
Entourage support pack (your version should show as 12.0.1), then there's a
good chance this is broken. There were many issues with syncing in the
original release of Entourage 2008.

Bear in mind, however, that Entourage only syncs to/from the "Entourage"
calendar in iCal. Any other calendars are completely ignored by Entourage.
If you want your iCal events to appear in Entourage, you'll either have to
copy or move them into the "Entourage" calendar (in iCal) before they will
sync.

If you want to move a few items, you can just drag them from whichever
calendar they're in to your Entourage calendar (in iCal). Holding down the
OPT key while doing this will result in the item being *copied* instead of
moved (ie, it will remain in its original calendar, so you'll see duplicates
when both calendars are enabled in your iCal view).

If you're doing a mass-migration, the fastest way to transfer data into the
Entourage calendar is to export your existing calendars as ICS files (using
"File, Export") and then re-import them (just double-click on the file) into
your "Entourage" calendar. The original calendar will be left intact, but
the events will be added into the Entourage calendar, and therefore synced
into the Entourage database.
