I will try and give you as much info as possible about what I need to do.

I work for a Hugh school district. Moving to Office 2008.

1. I need to create several groups that need to be used by around 500
teachers and staff in a very large school district.

2. It is fairly easy to create the groups on my computer from the GAL.

3. I need to copy; install; what ever it takes to get those groups to
the other users.

4. I can¹t seem to find any easy way to do that.

5. Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.

I an posting this from my home computer because my district does not allow
access to this group from school. I will check back tonight.

If you are so inclined I would be happy to have any suggestions sent to my
e-mail:

rjtolman@graniteschools.org

Thanks in advance.

I am sure there is any easy way to do this I just can¹t find it.

I'm not an Exchange expert so this might not work for you, but for other
accounts....

You can export as Entourage archive (.rge) file. This option lets you select
specific categories to export. If your group does not have a category you
might assign one i.e. Christmas Card list.

Additionally, if you want to use a tab delimited file, you can then import
this Entourage archive (.rge) into a new blank Identity where you can export
as a tab delimited file for just that group. Round about way of getting
there.

If you're referring to the GAL then you're using Exchange. Create
distribution lists in Active Directory. Those can be used by Entourage
and will appear in the GAL.

Entourage can not, however, create or edit distribution lists.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the information. Is there anything special to create
distribution lists in the Active Directory? Do I need to do that in Outlook
2007 on a PC. Just for information we are on a 2007 Exchange. Thanks for
the help.

Hi Russ!

Active Directory distribution lists are typically created by an Exchange
administrator. If you already have a group of addresses then you may be
able to pass that on to the administrator to create the group.

Hope this helps!
