If I enter the addresses manually, it works fine. Has anyone else run in to this? 10.5.2 and Office 2008 with the most current update. I have also found a bug in using groups in the ³to:² line. If you have the ³don¹t show addresses when sending to the group² button selected, it doesn¹t send the email to the groups. Rather it sends to your ³me² contact. This is happening on 2 different machines and I am wondering if anyone else is seeing this.  - Read and Deleted Emails are Going to Trash and Becoming "UnRead" Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: imap I read an email. I delete the email. The email goes to my trash. Within a minute or two my Trash folder with become BOLD and claim it has one message not read. I click on the folder and it claims that the message I JUST deleted was never read. This happens no matter if I open the email or just preview the email. There were times where I'll open and email and read it for a few minutes, leaving it open for a while. Once I delete it the trash always claims that it hasn't been read. What's up with this?  - Receive, but can't send email Version: v.X Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC Email Client: pop Usually I can figure out these error messages through google, etc., but I'm not getting anywhere with this one. I can receive, but can't send, emails. Get Error: 5530. Also says "5.7.0 Authentication required" and the error say "The SMTP server for "name" does not recognize any of the authentication methods supported by Entourage. To send mail, try disabling SMTP authentication in the account settings or talk to your administrator." Nothing has changed in my system, but suddenly can't send. Account details match my wife's computer and she CAN send/receive. I've toggled the authentication (with restarts) to try to reset. Restarted Entourage and the computer many times, etc. Where I think the problem might be is that the last email I sent was photos sent from email button in iPhoto. I've poked around in the menus but can't find what that action might have tripped. Also, get the same kind of message now from my .mac account. Any thoughts to cure this are much appreciated. Has this changed with 2008 ? The reason given by my hosting company for problems with 2004 and Exchange are shown below: LDAP connectivity is required for Entourage clients to achieve the "Address Book" and "Global Address List" functionality of Managed Exchange in Entourage. However, due to the large security risks, we do not expose LDAP connectivity to the outside world. While this feature is compatible with Outlook 2003, regretfully it is not available via Entourage. To clarify, Outlook uses the MAPI protocol to access mail and address book information, Entourage uses the WebDAV and LDAP protocols to achieve this same functionality.  - Error log making me crazy Is there anyway to turn off the error log in 2008? It's a huge downgrade from the previous version. If my server is down or running slow, an error is generated for each event and each account. This creates a big log of the same thing and I don't need to see them. Yet you can't easily select the errors and delete them all (it deletes one at a time, which is dumb and slow). So I'd prefer to just shut the damn thing off. Is there a way? Just now, I moved a number of old email messages from "inbox" to a folder "2007" on Exchange. Since moving earlier messages while connected caused Entourage to stall completely, I did this while disconnected. I then reconnected so that the synchronization would ensure that the right things happened on the Exchange side. Entourage is completely stalled. From the Activity Monitor, it appears that Entourage is repeatedly reading a very large file, which I assume to be the database file. Is it possible that it is reading the ENTIRE database for EACH message as it updates/resynchronizes? In any case, is there any way to work around this behavior?  - HTML rendering in Entourage - resized images and extracted links Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange We send different HTML messages within our company (generated from our intranet) that look just fine in Outlook 2003 on PCs, but look horrible in Entourage 2008: images are resized (squeezed to be smaller than they should) and hyperlinks are shown as full URLs AFTER the text that was supposed to be a clickable link. This doesn't happen with all HTML messages that come from outside our company (third-party newsletters, for example), so I thought maybe it has something to do with how our internal HTML e-mails are constructed... Our internal mailings are sent as multipart/related messages with all the images embedded within the message. The <img> links refer to "cid:" identifiers rather than "http:" URLs. But if I add a single image tag that refers to a URL (e.g., <http://oursite.com/spacer.gif)> then Entourage behaves better and shows the other CID images as expected and doesn't mess with the hyperlinks. Just thought I'd mention this in case somebody else has problems with multipart/related messages and rendering in Entourage. I'm not sure if this is intentional or a bug...  - Automator action from older version When I open an Automator Action stored at ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Entourage Script Menu Items/Sample Automator Workflows I get this message: "The workflow was saved with an older version of the action "...". Some behaviour may have changed." As I installed Office 2008 on top of 2004 (i.e. I didn't remove Office 2004 first) were they installed in the same place? Could the actions be from Office 2004? Error 111 coming up after it times out when trying to send a bulk emailing using Entourage. I've double checked updates, talked to our ISP (who was of course worthless in helping) and restarted the Modem (now overnight just in case). And still can not send out a bulk emailing above 30 emails. This just occurred in the last two weeks as well as we were able to prior to that. Since we have a newsletter list over 400 long splitting it up into blocks of 30 or less is not effective.  - Deleted tasks keep reappearing Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange I have several newly installed Mac Pro's all on 10.5.2 running Office 2008 patched up to 12.0.1. All of them are experiencing problems with Tasks/To Dos in My Day. When we have deleted them they reappear back into the list. The email accounts have been setup with exchange to the local mail server 'Kerio'. I have deleted the local MS User Data folder and recreated from fresh, checked to make sure all the sync services are turned off in Entourage with iCal in the preferences and also tested in another OS user.  - Unable to accept "New Time Proposed" meeting change in Entourage Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange I am working with Entourage 2008 and a colleague on Outlook 2003. I originated a meeting request from Entourage 2008 and he accepted using OL 2003. He had to make a change to the time of the meeting and did this through OL 2003. The "New Time Proposed" came through to Entourage as a regular email without the ability to accept, propose a different time, view all proposals etc. Is this a known problem?  - links disappear after rebuilding database - bug or feature? Hello everybody, I would like to use Entourage for my project work, but the major impediment/deception is that the links between e-mail/addresses/notes are deleted when rebuilding the database, which must be done quite regularly. Is this a bug or a feature? Whichever ist is, as long as this remains this way, the whole project idea is useless, in my opinion. The initial sync worked fine. Now it gives me the message "The application ERimContacts quit unexpectedly" when I try to change options for syncing contacts and will not sync. I run both Windows XP and Mac 10.4.11 for my corporate work the former is forced upon me, the latter is my choice. I haven¹t logged onto the IBM for weeks. Last week I started having real problems with Entourage over Outlook Webmail Access (couldn¹t make a connection for two hours), so I decided to fire up the IBM and use Outlook to get to email. When I did so, I noticed that the Mac Entourage client is seeing some emails that the IBM isn¹t seeing in Outlook. And the same emails aren¹t showing up over Webmail viewed using a browser. All of the emails I can see in Outlook or in my Inbox on Webmail browser access can be seen on the Mac client. However, there are some emails about 75% of my daily traffic that can be seen on the Mac client but can¹t be seen on Outlook or a Webmail access via browser. Another interesting point: the Mac Entourage client (different from Outlook) maintains a separate Inbox (under ³Folders on My Computer²) from the account-defined mailbox (I call it ³SiGe² on my client). About 1 March 08, this separate Inbox started getting the majority of my email traffic instead of the SiGe mailbox. Previous to this date, the SiGe inbox got all my email traffic that cleared the SPAM filters. Here¹s a critical point: the Entourage SiGe mailbox email list perfectly matches the Outlook Inbox email list (and the Webmail Inbox email list as well). That means that the majority of my email traffic is being diverted by the server to a mailbox location that can¹t be seen in Outlook. All other folders SPAM, sent mail, deleted mail, all offline mail folders are identical over Entourage and Outlook. I¹ve used the Mac for OWA to email for two years, the account is defined for Exchange Server access. Previous to 1 Mar 08, all of my mail went to the Entourage SiGe mailbox; that is, the Entourage SiGe mailbox email list matched the Outlook Inbox email list. Across the company, we¹ve had XP-based Outlook users suddenly getting the majority of their internally-generated emails in their SPAM filter mailbox.  - Unknown error -1702; SpamSieve I just installed Office 2008. I am running OS X 10.5.2. From Entourage (12.0.1), I now get this message: While processing message "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <message subject here>" (ID 205029), the rule "Spam Sieve - move if spam" could not be successfully executed. An unknown error (-1702) occurred. Any ideas what causes this? SpamSieve web site says latest version (I have it installed) is compatible with Entourage 2008.  - Entourage screen Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Email Client: pop When looking at my working day calendar, I have to scroll down quite a bit to see if I have meetings later in the day. Entourage doesn't indicate if I have meetings later. I would like to have a look of my whole working day (ex form 8h00 to 18h00) without having to scroll down my sreen. Some incoming messages have the text scrambled: overlapping letters, odd characters, missing charters...unreadable. I can read the messages if I do a reply, but is there a setting I can change to fix this?

Quit Entourage, then delete the files "Tasman Browser.cache" and
"com.microsoft.browserfont.cache" in ~/Library/Caches. This should solve
your problem.
