 - Entourage will not work after update Just updated to service pack 2 and when I start Entourage 2004 it shows that it updating identy. I then get a message that "Microsoft Database Daemon has encountered a problem...." The next window says "Entourage cannot access your data. To attempt to fix the problem, rebuild database" I have verified the original it appears to be valid. I have also rebuilt the data base and tried using it with the same error message.  - Project color dot Why have all my e-mails and calendar events all of a sudden lost their color dot indicating which project they belong to?  - Corrupt Attchments If this has been covered before (I am sure it has been) please forgive another question on this issue. I sugscribed to this group a week ago and checked all posts in case it was a raging issue, but was surprised to see that there was nothing on the subject. Since the upgrade to Tiger, all attachments from Entourage to a mail recipient get corrupted. Cheking the net... there seem a lot of similar complainst, some of which were attributed to Little Snitch (who released a patch to supposedly correct this), but having installed the patch, there is no improvement. Does anyone know the solution to this? Is there light on the horizon? I have reverted to using Mail to send anything with an attachment, but it is frustrating to work between two packages.  - Entourage will send but not receive. I have been using Entourage for a few years. I recently began havin some problems on both my g4 tower and my g4 powerbook. The powerboo version of Entourage no longer receives or sends any mail --offering a error code of 3000 something. The most problematic now is my deskto version not being able to receive. I've checked all of the accoun settings and verified them again with my ISP. The error code is 7010 Anyone have a clue? P.S. has anyone ever uninstalled Entourage? I'm thinking perhaps I' like to try to export the folders for safe keeping then reinstall th software on both laptop and desktop as a "final fix" attempt. What i the proceedure- simply trash "everything Entourage"? I dunno, does thi make sense as a fix or is there something less drastic and mor efficient?  - SP2 Screwed up Entourage? Dual 2 GHz G5 OS 10.4.2 Microsoft Office 2004 Entourage 2004 v11.2.0 I routinely allow Microsoft Office to check for updates and go ahead an install these, because they are almost always small bug fixes (that I had often not even encountered). Well, the last update that came down has managed to completely screw up my Entourage (I don't really use the other office product very much, whereas I use Entourage non-stop). First of all, I encountered several problems while the update was trying to update my data file. It kept failing and wanting to start over. I finally had to rebuild the database, and then the update went through. The major change in this update is better compatibility with Exchange servers, and on that front, I actually see a huge improvement, because it seems like Entourage for Mac is finally a better Exchange client and we are now able to see all public folders, and calendars, address books, etc. However at least a few things have been broken since the update, and I am trying to see if it is just me, or if anyone else can verify these: 1. This is not so much a bug as it is a mini heart attack in waiting! During the update, apparently all of your contacts and calendar events get moved to the exchange server (obviously this only happens if you are connected to an exchange server). So instead of these records being in your local contact and calendar database, they are now accessed through the exchange server versions that are created for you. That's not such a big deal except that there was no warning about this. So when I launched Entourage after the update, it seemed like I had lost all my data in those areas. But they are all there. Just moved to a different location. Although this still seems confusing, because now we have 2 locations for calendar events and contacts. 2. Drag and drop is broken! I used to be able to drag a task or a an email onto the calendar and create events out of them. This was a great tool, as that is how I set up my appointments, etc. This no longer works. Although the calendar gets highlighted and it looks like you should be able to do this, when you let go of the task you dragged on top of the calendar, nothing happens. There are scripts to let you do this, but dragging and dropping was far easier and quicker. 3. Window preferences do not seem to stick. I have 3 windows open when I am working with Entourage: 1 Main window for email on the left the full height of the screen and then I have 2 smaller half height windows stacked on tope of each other on the right, with one displaying tasks and the last displaying my workweek calendar. Every time I quit out of Entourage and come back in, the views and location of the 3 windows on the change. I have thrown away all my preferences, etc., and it does not seem to help. I remember back a few years ago, it seemed like if you had Internet Explorer open, then the preferences file was not getting written to, so in order to make changes stick, you had to quit out of IE first and make the changes and then quit the program to make sure the preferences were modifies and then you were good.  - SP2 Bug: Entourage 2004 not saving window state properly My system: Entourage 2004 SP2 on Mac OS X 10.4.2. I use Entourage with 3 separate windows open: Mail, Tasks, and Calendar. Entourage is normally good about remembering my open windows, as well as their positions on the screen. However, the introduction of SP2 introduced a new bug whereby Entourage will replace my Tasks and Calendar window with two over-lapping Address Book windows. (That is, it only remembers the state of the Mail window, and forgets the position information for one of my windows). Here's how to replicate this bug: 1. Make sure 3 separate windows in Entourage are open: Mail, Tasks and Calendar. Position each window differently on the screen. (You can right click on the icons that correspond to these functions to open them in new windows.) 2. Close Entourage and reopen. The windows should be just as you left them. 3. Now create a new mail message and save it as a draft. 4. Close Entourage and reopen. The Tasks and Calendar window should now be replaced by Address Book windows which will likely be positioned identically on the screen. Can anyone else replicate this bug?  - Login Failure SP 2 is great but I am having a nagging problem. When I use my Powerbook at home with VPN I receive a login failure after entourage begins syncing. It will sync several folders and then I get the login failure message. When attached to the network at the office (no vpn) I don't have this problem. Ideas?  - How to transfer email info from Outlook on PC to Entourage on a Mac? I'd like to help a colleague here who recently swtiched from PC to a brand-new iBook running Tiger. She wants to move her email (mail and addresses) from Outlook (version unknown, but probably recent) to Entourage. (I'm assuming that's from Office X.) I checked on my Entourage Help and could find how to do that going via a MS Exchange Server. My guess would be that she wasn't using Exchange via a server, but only on her desktop PC.  - Slow down in Address book and SR2 Anyone else seeing a slowdown in the search function of the address book in Entourage 2004 with the SR2? I'm on a G5 2Ghz, with 2.5 gigs of ram. Main Identity is about 1.2 gigs, and I have 3600 contacts. Before the upgrade, searches in the Address book, for last name, while ordered/sorted by Name, was under one second. Now with the SR2, it takes well over 7 seconds each time. I've compacted and then rebuilt the database. I've also run a few utilities, like Disk Warrior and Onyx, to see if that would help.  - Can't connect to Exchange Server 2003 with Office 2004 I have the same problem. I was previously able to connect to Exchange when using Office X and then 2004 Test Drive. Then, for no apparent reason, without changing any settings, I was not able to receive, but was able to send. So I figured it was a Test Drive problem and purchased the license. And now, I can neither send nor receive. I get a "Logon Failure: unknown user name or bad password. ..." But I've verified the password and user name, replaced the Identities file, rebuilt the database, reconfigured all the settings, etc. I'm able to ping the Exchange server from Terminal (both the domain and the IP address) and able to access email with Web Client, but not with Entourage.  - Failure to Deliver when sending to .co.jp or .co.kr addresses I have been struggling with this problem for some time now. Configuration: Entourage 2004 10.4.2 connecting through Exchange 2000 Whenever I send an e-mail to addresses that end in @seh.co.jp and sometimes when I send an e-mail to addresses that end in @lg.co.kr I get a "Delivery Failed" message from the recievers host. If I send the identical message through: Outlook 2003/Windows XP/Virtual PC 7.0.2/10.4.2 connected to the same Exchange server, the messages are delivered without any problems.  - Project colored dots disappeared with SP2 I had updated to SP2 and everything was fine with Entourage (sort of). Now, suddenly and without warning, the colored dots that appeared on calendar events that were linked to a project have disappeared. The space for the dot, however, is still there. Other strange goings on: If I choose "Projects", the large window showing the names of the projects has each project in the color that it was assigned.  - Can't Establish a Delegate We just upgraded to SP2 and basically it is running great with the exception of a couple of minor glitches. Applying upgrades to the Exchange server fixed all of them but one. I can't designate someone as a delegate. Once I select a person as a delegate and click ok, I get this error message: Entourage cannot connect to the Exchange server. Make sure that your password was entered correctly and try again. (Error: 65486) The fact is, I know I am connected and my password is entered correctly because I can do everything else in Entourage. I can also give someone access to my calendar or e-mail by setting the permissions in the folder properties. This happens on any computer on our network, so it is either a setting on our Exchange server or an overall glitch in SP2. Does anyone know how to fix this? Tag: Font Color Tag: 58299

 - Still no booking of resources in SP2 I really disappointed that SP2 still doesn't help Mac users book resources on the Exchange server. This is getting a little tiring. I can't even use Web Outlook to book resources because it to has a bug where resources are shifted as optional attendees! I have to resort to use Outlook to book resources. I can send and receive mail fine I can sync my Treo fine to the Exchange contacts/calendar I'm new to Macs and Macs are not officially supported in our company 2 things are NOT working, and I'm looking for pointers I believe our organization is deployed on Exchange 2000, not sure of Windows version (2000 or 2003 server) --I can't get to the global address book or the LDAP.  - IMAP account and seeing Address Book in Public Folders I am running 10.4.2 and have upgraded Office 2004 with the latest service pack. We have Exchange 2003. I have been told to set up an IMAP account to access Exchange Server, which is working fine. However, I cannot see the address book we have in a public folder on the server as an address book. I can see the address book in the mail view but all the adresses appear as emails and have no content. I have subscribed to the relevant public folder. Does anyone have any clues about this.  - Views changed in preview pane? After updating to SP 11.2 I noticed a change in viewing preferences in the preview pane: for mail I prefer to "view on right"; for news, however, I still prefer the traditional "below list." After updating, if I change the viewing preference, it will affect both news and mail views (whereas previously these had separate preferences).  - Is it possible to NOT sync a calendar with the exchange server? Until now, I have had to connect to the server with a POP account rather than as an Exchange account. I would rather not have my calendar events (or contacts, for that matter) synched with the exchange server. I prefer to only keep the entries on my computer. Is that an option?  - Do I need a root certificate Hi, Trying to configure my Entourage 2004 SP2 Mac to play nicely with my new companies Exchange 2003 server. My companies support guy is not Mac literate and so I'm after some info to help troubleshoot my problems. The key issue is root certificates and if I actually need one? My old Dell Inspiron 8200 crapped out on me and I just purchased an iBook 14" and i love it - still getting used to it though! Anyway, I used synchPST to sync my e-mail and it worked great.  - Entourage and Tiger Can someone tell me why Entourage is such a problem in Tiger? Does Microsoft or Apple plan on any fixes? Should I update to the newest Office Suite? If I do, will I lose any of my text files or e-mails? My text files are especially valuable to me. I have them backed up on a firewire drive, but I really would rather not have to go through whatever would be necessary to reload them or whatever it would be called. Thanks, BF P.S.  - Entourage printing issues With PS2 installed, the print dialog box shuts down Entourage if I select either "weekly calendar" or "calendar list."  - SMTP Location script error I am running Entourage 2004 with the newly installed mac sp2 update on a Powerbook G4. I take my computer between home and work so I am using the SMTP Location scripts to automatically change my outgoing mail servers. Everything seems to be working fine but I get an error everytime the script runs ERROR Microsoft Entourage got an error:Can't set include in send and receive all of Exchange account id 2 to false. I have two pop accounts and and one imap account. I am only changing the smtp settings for the POP accounts in the SMTP Location PREFS script. Any ideas what might be giving me this error?  - Printing Dr.Office type calendars I am trying to print my calendar in a 7-day column with hours from 7am to 9pm, to look like a doctor's or dentist's schedule book. I can get this format on the screen, but it doesn't print this way. I need the printed version to use for planning as I'm not always at the computer. How do I get Entourage to print in this format? I always choose to "Display complex HTML in messages" and I certainly would choose to download pictures by default, if such an option existed in E2004. Currently, I get messages that show placeholders among bits of text. When I choose to "download pictures", I get a totally BLANK message! Does anyone else suffer this? You can't. However, you could check out the "Message Template X" script on
