When I try to filter the Exchange Public Folder address book by Name, there
is no response; All names remain displayed. This feature works fine in my
Folders on My Computer address book.

Just installed 2008 a few days ago, then the current update. Not sure
whether this problem existed before the update or not. It definitely didn't
exist in Office 2004, I use this feature frequently.

Hi Allen!

If you add the address book to your Subscribed Public Folders folder and
let that synchronize then do you continue to have the problem? This
folder is the old Favorites folder just renamed. It should keep a local
but synchronized cache on your computer, which increases the speed of
using public folders.

Hope this helps!

{Allen}:

Thanks William,

I already had the address book in the Subscribed Public Folders folder; just
for good measure, I tried it immediately after forcing a sync, and from both
the Address Books page shortcut and from inside the Subscribed Public
Folders folder, and from Public Folders > All Public Folders > [acct number]
> Contacts, with the same results: nothing.

As noted, it works fine for my Folders on My Computer address book, and in
fact, seems faster to present results than E2004, which was rather sluggish
at this.

Does anyone out there have a Public Folders address book you could test to
see if this problem is easily replicated?
