 - Syncing with a reverted database Hi. I recently reverted to an older database, upon Diane Ross' recommendation, to deal with a problem in linking to my IMAP server <http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage/ browse_thread/thread/ff8eb6aa65cf3f3f/ ca45419c1ec3383e#ca45419c1ec3383e>. Now, I'm not sure what to do about syncing my out-of-date info with my Treo. Should I continue using this database, and rely on my Treo to update everything on my next sync? I'm concerned that things will sync the wrong way and that now my Treo will be "updated" with the old data. And if I set conduit settings to "Handheld overwrites Entourage", I'm worried that this will duplicate most of my data.  - Adding rules for email For years I used Outlook and recently switched to Office for Mac and Entourage. In outlook I created rules that put all my incoming emails into appropriate folders. I tried to do this in Entourage and found it confusing. Can anyone explain how to use rules both for incoming mail and to sort mail in current folders. For example, one specific concern is I also use Gmail and it sends a copy of my sent mails via pop to Entourage. I'd like to have all of these mails be placed in my "sent mail" folder.  - UNWANTED AUTO RESPONSE IN ENTOURAGE I am using Entourage 11.3.6 and in the last few days I have noticed that I keep getting messages from junk mailers to say my email to them has been returned. I am not manually responding to junk mail which goes straight into the Junk Mail folder so I don't understand why a response would have been sent. I use BT Yahoo as my ISP and I have checked my settings and there is no Auto Response switched on. Can anyone throw any light on this for me?  - Error message 3260 in Entourage I use Entourage 2004 to keep track of my five email accounts. Yesterday, for no apparent reason, Entourage stopped allowing me to send emails through three of the accounts.  - Entourage & RapidoSMTP (setting up Postfix SMTP) Hi all, I am trying to use the RapidoSMTP usility, so that I can easily send emails when on the road and when wanting to bypass the annoying limitations of my telus.net SMTP and not being able to send emails directly from within Entourage. However, all my setups are not working, and I wonder whether it is Entourage stuff that I am missing, or something else. Setting the outgoing smtp part in the Accounts to: - localhost (trying to use the default port 25) - localhost 555 (trying to use another port) - localhost 5555 (trying a port above 1024) Nothing works, when sitting here in the local cafe and trying to send an email to myself. Am I missing something else in a setup somewhere? Format? I can connect using 'telnet localhost <any port above>' just fine.  - Weekly Calendar Print Out displays duplicate Appts When Week I tried to post this already so sorry if I repeat it.... When I set my week to begin on Mondays, and go to print my calendar, it repeats some appointments or occasions. I have noticed that a Monday entry will show up on the Wednesday prior. For instance, my parents' anniversary is on MONDAY SEPT 10TH and it shows up correctly on that date, but it also shows up on WEDNESDAY SEPT 5TH. Any suggestions? If I make the work week begin with Sunday then it solves the problem, however the the printout places fri/sat in a split box instead of sat/sun, and the Sunday appears larger like the other weekdays. I would much rather have Friday as a large box than Sunday. I have called Microsoft and they say its a known issue...and have no solution for me but suggested I post it on here.  - When I print weekly calendar some dates are repeated in the week If I set my calendar week to start with MONDAY then dates that appear on a Monday will also appear on the previous Wednesday.... For instance if I put my parents anniversary on Monday SEPT 10TH, and have it set for reoccuring annualy, when I print it in weekly view it will place the occasion on not only the 10th (where it should be) but also on SEPT 5H, the Wednesday prior. If I set the week to start with Sunday it will fix the problem, but for my planner it makes no sense to start with Sunday because it will place Friday and Saturday in a split box...I would rather Saturday and Sunday be split. I called Microsoft Tech Support they said its a known issue and they cant help at this time...any suggestions of how to work around this...other than having Sunday be the first day of the week?  - outbox does not send Hello, i would greatly appreciate someone's help here. In the last week two separate mac's thati have running entourage suddenly stopped automatically sending messages once they were in the outbox. I started clicking on send and receive and still not sending, then after S&R'ing an error message would come up staying that network etc was busy. I have checked with my ips and their systems are fine, therefore i have some issue with entourage. Do i have to re-install etc or recreate my account's?  - Entrouge Mail I have been having a recent and frequent problem with Entorouge for Mac 2004, Update 11.3.6. I consistently received the same error and most recently all the time. At first, I was receiving and sending mail without any problem through Entrouge, but most recently I have received the same error everytime I click on the send/receive button or the automatic send/receive activates: Error --------------- An unkown error (-50) occured Explanation -------------- Could not retreive mail user e-mail@msn.com I have searched at the Microsoft support pages for troubleshooting issues and found none that match this error. I've recently moved back to Entourage after a long time using Mail.app, and while I was using Mail, I had a simple script that would check for new mail and refresh my feeds in NetNewsWire. I assigned this script to a hotkey using FastScripts and would often use it to do a last-minute check on everything before leaving my computer. I'm trying to get this to work with Entourage, but I can't seem to find the AppleScript command to Send and Receive all mail. Is there one? Here's the Mail.app portion of the script.  - Entourage Encoding Stripping JPGs attached to Exchange 2007 Hello, I have entourage (11.3 I believe) attached to an exchange 2007 server. If an jpg is attached either by dragging or adding an attachment it arrives as zero bytes outside our network. The encoding scheme is any. If I change it to PC windows mime encoding it works.  - Entourage deletes chunks of email on Exchange 2003 Hi, We run Exchange 2003 and have 70% of our user base happily running Outlook on PCs and 30% running Entourage. On a regular basis Entourage users see huge chunks of emails, generally prior to the current day, completely deleted.  - Hotmail & Entourage 2004 I use Entourage as my mail client. With the exception of a few correspondents, after e-mail has been automatically or manually downloaded from Hotmail by Entourage, it is moved into the Hotmail server's DELETED folder (not as a result of an Account setup setting or an Entourage preference setting, but apparently as a result of the Microsoft designed integration between Entourage and Hotmail). But, several correspondents' e-mails are never cleared, i.e., never moved to DELETED after downloading. Instead they remain on Hotmail's web page as UNREAD. Consequently, I receive the same e-mails over and over again until I go to the Hotmail web page to manually delete them. I can see no relationship between these stubborn e-mails and their e- mail accounts' addresses, i.e., they vary from AOL to SBCGLOBAL to private server addresses. And other correspondents' mail with the same e-mail account suffix (e.g., @aol.com OR @sbcglobal.net, etc.), always are deleted, while these few are never. Are there any steps I can take to overcome this problem? FYI-I operate in OS X v.10.4.10, but this has been going on forever, i.e., through all iterations of OS X and with Hotmail and Live Hotmail.  - Problems with IMAP account I spoke to user yesterday who uses Entourage as his email client. We're at a university and the user has an IMAP account. Everything WAS working fine until, according to the user, he "clicked on something." After this event, his new mail was no longer going to the IMAP account inbox, but rather the Inbox under "Folders on this computer." I have no idea why it did this. I looked and didn't find any rules. During a remote session, I deleted the IMAP account and recreated it. This caused another problem in that all of the user's "Sent Mail" that was on the mail server was moved to the "Trash" folder on the mail server. The new mail is still being sent to the "Inbox" under "Folders on this computer" AND a copy of the new email is sent to the "Trash" folder on the mail server.  - Calendar save as web page w/background graphic Hi. I haven't been able to resolve this problem: When saving a calendar as a web page, checking 'Use background graphic' then clicking 'Choose', all picture files are grayed out in the selection dialog (jpg, jpeg, tiff, gif, etc.). I'm saving a month view (current month) with landscape orientation. I'm using 2004, version 11.3.6, but the problem has been there since I installed Office 2004. I have 2 hotmail accounts that I have been using through Entourage for several years without problems and now am unable to send any e-mails. I can receive them just fine, I just can't send.  - Delete IMAP email = SBBOD Hello, One of my end users has this strange issue when he tries to delete a bulk of emails out of his IMAP inbox. It is sporadic, but sometimes causes the SBBOD, and then he has to force quit the application. This is happening on both of our entourage clients. The 3 end user is using the mail.app from Apple and is not having any problems deleting multiple emails. Does anyone have any ideas?  - Auto-remove calendar events from inbox after accepting/declining In Outlook, when you accept or decline a meeting invite, it disappears from your inbox. In Entourage, it stays and you have to delete it manually. I prefer the Outlook behavior.  - Small text on reply emails Hello. I have a Macbook Pro with OS 10.4.10 and Office 2004 11.3.6 installed on it. We;re having an issue in entourage where reply emails (with the exception of the newest message) have extremely small font. Has anyone seend this before? I have the option marked to send in the format in which the email was received, but I can't seem to find any option that would cause this. What happens with it then? Part III is in response to comments posted in the microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage newsgroup and why people feel that Microsoft is not listening to their feedback.  - Moving Entourage Private folder to Exchange account I was using Entourage 2004 as a pop3 client and now connecting to an Exchange server, without pop3 access. after sending out my newsletter i usually get quite a few bounced
mails back that show a mailer daemon adress as sender. the recipient's
email adress is in header or body of the mail. in order to delete
these adresses from my newletter mailing programm I need those as
plain email adresses. any script that does this extracting job as a
plain text file either from a folder or from a selected number of
mails? thanks rainer

Email Searcher 1.3

This script finds all email addresses in the header or the body of selected
Entourage or Outlook Express messages. The script can then create links
between contacts that are in your address book, or you can make a new
contact.
