 - Sync Palm Treo 700P with Entourage 2004 I have a PowerBook G4 1.25 running OS 10.4.11. Installed on it is Entourage 2004. I recently purchased a Palm Treo 700P and heard that it will sync with Entourage. What I have tried has failed. I downloaded Handheld Sync Installer but when I try to install it I am told the installation failed because the Microsoft Component Plugin was not found. If I do a search for the Microsoft Component Plugin I can locate it in: Applications > Microsoft Office 2004 > Office > Microsoft Component Plugin. Is this in the wrong place, do I need a newer updater? This one seems old from I believe 2002 or sometime a little while back.  - Synchronization still lacking According to Microsoft's site, Entourage 2008 will not be able to synchronize the following items with an Exchange server: Server side Rules Notes Tasks Categories Contacts' e-mail addresses limited to first three entries Travel time in calendar items Excuse me, but for being an application that is geared toward corporate entities I believe this is a very large short-coming. I work in an IT department and am always going between platforms. I need to have the ability to see ALL of the items that I input all the time. In my line of work, there is no exception to this. Daily tasks can change on an almost hourly basis. I am very dissatisfied with the fact that these items have been left off. This seems to depreciate the value of Entourage as well. If it was not for the fact that I still need to use Entourage for calendar support I would stop using it now as there is no other compelling reason. There also appears to be some issues of loss of information when synchronizing to Exchange. For example, the Contacts' mailing addresses being limited to only the first three entries is a limitation. This loss of information could lead to an e-mail not getting to the person in a timely manner. For example because only the first three address are synchronized, If I'm off site and need to e-mail my supervisor something, I should not have to make sure that the e-mail address he/she is at is listed at is one of the first three on my office computer. Travel time in calendar items is also a big missing feature. If I put travel time down for commuting from the main building to another site and back again, how are others going to know not to schedule an overlapping event? To date, I've had to contend with putting in multiple events to overcome this shortcoming. I was very much hoping that these issues would be address with this version, but they have not. I just hope that these issues are resolved in a timely manner and full synchronization support that is available in Outlook 2007 for PC is made available for Entourage 2008 for Mac. Now I'm trying to view all the recipients in my email in the "Sent" folder, and it will only show a few with a "29 more"... but without showing me the 29 others.... How do I display the others?  - My Day in Menu Bar Has anybody had any luck getting My Day to appear in the menu bar? It is a preference setting under general; however, when I try to change it I says the application needs to be restarted, then after the restart it reverts back to having My Day load in the dock.  - Can an identity be shared between users? I've had to set up a second user in OS X 10.4.11 because of a system problem.  - entourage e-mails won't send Yesterday I attempted to download the Microsoft office 2004 update 11.2.3 to sync entourage with my address book, but when I reached the installation stage, I was told that the software to be updated couldn't be found.  - Changing default language in Entourage I use Entourage to write e-mail in English and Latvian, but have English specified as the default language, but for some reason, Entourage has decided to display my calendar in Czech. I don't speak or write Czech, nor do I want to (though I now know my months and days of week in Czech), so how do I get my calendar back to English?  - Syncing Entourage calendars between computers I have two Mac OS X computers (10.4.11). I've managed to learn how to sync mail and contacts. Is it or is it not possible to sync Entourage calendars? I've read the Andy Ruff article as well as everything else I could find. I'm coming to the realization that I can only using iCal as a calendar function if I want to sync. I need the complexity of Entourage's client management system and project tracking that iCal doesn't have. If it is in fact impossible to sync Entourage calendars, could someone please tell me what my other options are? Do I need to get a hand-held device and do the fire wire thing every evening or what?  - Entourage Keeps Freezing Hi, I have Entourage 2004, 11.3.6, OS 10.4.11. I have not changed anything on my computer but suddenly Entourage has begun to regularly 'hang'. I'll tell it to check messages and it just spins supposedly checking until I have to force quit. When I hit Apple+Alt+Esc, it says 'Entourage not Responding' next to Entourage. If I quit and restart the program it's fine... until it happens again. I've had a couple weird things happen on my Firefox 2.0.0.11 too (starting around the same time). Could I have picked up a bug? I have restarted the computer, I have cleared my browser cache, and I tried to use the Disk Utility to 'fix' the weirdness but 'repair disk' does not come up as an option. Please Help!  - Duplicate Emails I've been using Entourage 2004 for almost a year with no problems. Now all of sudden one of my email address is somehow duplicating my emails that come in. I'm running Leopard, upgraded about a month or two before this started. I have almost 10 different emails coming into Entourage and I only get duplicates for my main one. Everything else works fine, please help! I know it isn't gmail that's causing the problems because all my other email addresses are all ran the same way. I tried creating a new identity and that was a disaster. I've also tried moving everything over to Mail, all of my emails showed up but when I tried to open them they were blank.  - Force a Synch Between Entourage and Apple Address Book I use Apple Address Book and Entourage on a Powerbook Pro running Leopard. I have al of the latest updates. Sometimes, when I make updates to info in a contact record in Apple Address Book, the updated info appears in Entourage within a few seconds. Sometimes, it can take minutes. Is there anyway to force an update in Entourage so that as soon as I go back into Entourage, I can force the update and the updated record is there? I know that I can turn off synch, turn synch back on, etc., but is there some other way/ shortcut to force an update of Entourage contacts once I make a change in a contact record in Apple Address Book?  - 14GB Mailbox and tons of problems I am faced with a rather difficult challenge of helping a co-worker manage a 14GB mailbox with 30 folders and emails as far back as 2001. Our server has no limitation and we have tons of public folders which cause a separate issue and another topic (we are a rather small company and have a knack for keeping old emails and info). The issues with the mailbox only appear with entourage. No outlook client has such issues. Mail.app and Thunderbird seem to handle the mailbox ok but the need for free/busy and global addresses and other features obviously keeps her wanting to use Entourage. The issues are as such 1. Problems with sending mail - some of this was attributed to the VPN problems while connecting from home, but now from the office Entourage does not connected while hard wired. This may be attributed to resolving DNS but I tried both the direct server name and the webmail server. I think the webmail addresses resolve more consistently 2. Problems sending mail - may be related to DNS as well so will resort to webmail addresses. However, smpt is only accessible with VPN while incoming is accessible without VPN. She may be stuck using VPN 3. Archiving - there is no easy way to archive. I found a script that she can use but the backup/archived copy has to accessible. I want to put it on a server accessible with VPN but need to know how to retrieve an Archived Message/Folder 4. Best practices for daily management - what are they? Assuming that (3) will allow us to reduce the mailbox to under 100MB, the Inbox will still receive from 200-300 emails per day that are processed and posted to a folder, which means the folder structure will need to be in tact and the Archive function may need to be Daily! The VPN issues seem to be resolved in Leopard, but the current environment is Tiger. I think I can tackle the VPN issues with the NetAdmin but the items above are still bothersome.  - Entourage vs, Outlook, with Exchange and Blackberry Hi, I am contemplating the move to a Mac and have concerns about Entourage 2008 vs. Outlook. I use Outlook in Office 2007 and my mail is hosted using a hosted exchange service. I also use hosted BlackBerry Enterprise server, and everything works perfectly. if I were to switch to Entourage, what if any problems or limitations would I encounter.  - Public Folders I am running a Standard Exchange 2003 server, I am using a single public folder as a shared public calendar. This resource is email enabled. When the Outlook 2003 and OWA clients post a calendar event and invite the shared public calendar, all seems to work fine, they can post and see the items.  - Trash folder won't empty Despite my best efforts, I cannot get some of the mail in my trash folder to delete. Here's what happens: -I open the trash folder. -I highlight all the messages I want deleted. -I click on the "delete" icon. - All my messages are deleted except the last six messages in the folder. I have also tried selecting "purge deleted items" and "delete message" from the Edit drop-down list, with various combinations of highlighting and not highlighting. I have tried deleting the messages individually (again with various combinations of highlighting/not highlighting). I have tried moving them to other folders just to see what would happen and get an error message: "mailbox is empty." The messages I want to delete don't seem to have anything in common--a mix of junk mail, mail with attachments, mail with no attachments, etc. They are all dated with about a week of each other.  - Microsoft's Mactopia site loses links to promotions and downloads What a mess! Microsoft launched it's new updated web site for Office for Mac today and the links to promotions are messed up. There is no way for users that are purchasing Office for Mac to view the offers or coupons at this time. When you log into Mactopia you get the new link http://www.microsoft.com/mac/comingsoon.htm. This includes the Mac Downloads page! Clicking on the Preview Office 2008 for Mac link offers a link to the Suite Deal that just returns you to the main page. For the Windows users, the upgrade was transparent. For the Mac users (of which I am one of the Admins) it was not so transparent I¹m sorry to say. Most of the Mac users are running OSX.4 (Tiger) and cannot see any Free/Busy information. For the few of us running OSX.5 (Leopard), we can see Free/Busy data. Our Entourage clients are set up exactly the same. The Tiger users can¹t see Public folders either. Here¹s how we¹re set up. Account Preferences/Edit Account/Account Settings Account Name is set Name is set E-Mail address is set Account ID is set Domain is set Password is set Save Password is checked The path to the Exchange server is servername.companyname.com DAV service requires a secure connection is NOT set Override default DAV port is checked Account Preferences/Edit Account/Advanced Public folders server is servername/public/ DAV service requires a secure connection is NOT set Override default DAV port is checked LDAP server is set Server requires me to log on is NOT set LDAP server requires a secure connection is NOT set Override default LDAP port is NOT set And that's it. A point of interest is that even though we check Override default DAV port when we come back into the settings, it's not checked any more. Any ideas? This is very frustrating as it seems to work for one but not the other. Even one of our Tiger users was OK yesterday, but today it didn't work again. Is this fixed in Entourage 2008? The Exchange admin has done all the stuff he needed to do. We're honestly wondering if this is a Leopard problem? Thanks. Most of the Mac users are running OSX.4 (Tiger) and cannot see any Free/Bus= y information. For the few of us running OSX.5 (Leopard), we can see Free/Bu= sy data. Our Entourage clients are set up exactly the same.   The Tiger users can’t see Public folders either. Here’s how we’re set up. Account Preferences/Edit Account/Account Settings Account Name is set Name is set E-Mail address is set Account ID is set Domain is set Password is set Save Password is checked The path to the Exchange server is servername.companyname.com DAV service requires a secure connection is NOT set Override default DAV port is checked Account Preferences/Edit Account/Advanced Public folders server is servername/public/ DAV service requires a secure connection is NOT set Override default DAV port is checked LDAP server is set Server requires me to log on is NOT set LDAP server requires a secure connection is NOT set Override default LDAP port is NOT set And that's it. A point of interest is that even though we check Override de= fault DAV port when we come back into the settings, it's not checked any mor= e. Any ideas? This is very frustrating as it seems to work for one but not the= other. Even one of our Tiger users was OK yesterday, but today it didn't wo= rk again. Is this fixed in Entourage 2008? The Exchange admin has done all the stuff he needed to do. We're honestly w= ondering if this is a Leopard problem? Thanks.  - Help with my Entourage Main Identity For some reason ??? any ideas, the last time I rebooted my computer (after changing sceen saver and desktop preferences) I totally eliminated my entire Entourage email. I found myself with a total "new" blank Entourage- address book, calendar and all vital correspondance (past and present) gone! Thankfully in November I had backed up my data into Main Identity... I wish I had done it in December but someone coached me through it and I couldn't remember HOW TO DO IT AGAIN. Can you tell me or suggest where I could find a step by step as to how to import my Nov, main identity into my blank Entourage AND for the next time, How to back up (archive? is that the same thing?) my address book, emails, calendar next week.  - Daily Email in inbox forces quit HELP Hi I am running a MBP 2.16 Intel Core Duo OSX 10.5.1 Entourage 11.3.6 I receive a daily email from my university which up until a few weeks ago has been OK.  - Entourage 2008 Contacts export options? What I miss most in Entourage has been the ability to export partial databases to create effective limited mailing labels or as a way to remove outdated or limited email addresses. For example, I'd like to be able to export only those in the Category Christmas Cards, at Christmas time to create mailing labels; or I'd like to be able to export, store, and then remove from my main user db, all compuserve address or addresses to which there has been no mail sent or received for x amount of time. Is there anything in the new version which will help me accomplish these tasks? That would be worth the upgrade... As it stands, I had to export all contacts, create a Filemaker pro DB, eliminate all but Christmas card category, and then create labels. The problem with the export from Entourage is that it has SO many fields, and I couldn't limit the export to only say, name address and category. And finally, creating a mailing label list within Word using some access to Entourage is just WAY too much trouble with too many errors, steps, and incompatibilities...  - Junk email won't delete I have a rule to empty my junk email folder. When I start Entourage I get a Window that asks if I want to delete my junk email. I say yes. Yet, my junk email will not delete. That is, there is always junk email in the junk email folder. How do I delete junk email? Thanks.  - Office 2008 and Entourage Palm Sync With Office 2008 being released next week, I have not seen any documentation as to whether Entourage will have a Palm conduit from Day 1. Will there be a conduit available or is this something that we will have to wait for. This would probably play a major factor in whether I upgrade now or wait till later. Entourage 08 Home/Student doesn't include Exchange support. I assume
this means it doesn't support WebDAV while the standard edition does.

However, I want to check that the Home edition does allow Sync
Services and syncing with ICal etc

Anyone know about this?

It does indeed. The only thing missing in the Home & Student edition is
Exchange support; everything else works as expected.
