Not true. you're usually advised to do Typical Rebuild first, but in fact in
merely compacts the database (removing deleted items and copying to a fresh
sector of your hard disk, removing fragmentation) and fixes mis-ordering of
lists, etc. Perhaps it fixes the occasional crash. For serious database
corruption - not opening, etc. - you could go straight to Advanced Rebuild.
if you're not sure, do a Typical first. Since most of the time most people
don't have the technical knowledge to be sure, that's why Typical first is
recommended. It wouldn't be good to have a large number of unnecessary
Advanced rebuilds. But when warranted, there's no technical requirement to
do a Typical first, in fact.
