My entourage was working fine this morning, and then all of the sudden
it stopped applying a rule to move messages to certain folders. Then
it told me it couldn't receive mail, and then it gave me another error
( should have written down!). I forced entourage to quit, and when I
restarted it was behaving as it was a new application, all my mail,
address book, and calendar entries are gone. I tried to switch
identities, but there is only one. I also tried looking for any folders
in the trash but there are none. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks!

Usually when Entourage starts up with a new blank Identity it's because the
user has moved the Microsoft User Data folder. Entourage expects the folder
to be in your Documents folder.

If a search for Microsoft User Data folder does not show it's location, try
doing a search for the folder "lost+found" this time including invisible
files.

At the root level of the hard drive, in a hidden folder called "lost+found"
you can find files that get orphaned during a crash.

Let me know if this helps.

The Microsoft User File is located where you indicated it should be,
under documents. Any other thoughts?
Thanks!

If the Microsoft User Data folder is missing in Documents, Entourage will
automatically recreate a new blank folder to use. Your original folder seems
to still be missing. Did you do a search for the folder including invisible
files?

You were right, I discovered the old file in a folder titled
'documents' that mysteriously appeared on our desktop. The folder has
some files we deleted months ago, bizarre. Thanks for your help!
