Error -3253 with IMAP

Hi,

I am receiving a recurring error when using Entourage 2004 with my ISP IMAP
server. Every 10 mins the following error occurs :

"Connection to the server failed or was dropped. Mail could not be received
at this time. Error: -3253"

Spoke with my ISP, and they are unsure of the issue.

I have a repeating schedule (send receive all) set to 5 mins. Have tried
increasing the schedule to 10+ mins with still the same errors.

I have various POP and a Hotmail account which also gets checked (no issues
here).

Entourage Version 11.1.0 (040913)

I am using OS 10.2.8.

Any ideas? (any other info required?)

I have the same problem with Entourage on my machine. I've done a lot o
reading and googling, try deselecting the received partial message ove
x kb option etc, but problem still persist.

And I couldn't find error code -3253 (or 3253 for that matter) in th
page below.

What else can I do?

-3253 is a standard Macintosh error, kECONNRESETErr.

dex.html> under Result Codes.

It's just a wrapper error code for ECONNRESET, a standard *NIX network
error, referring to the remote machine (the IMAP server) resetting the
network socket. Has this always happened, or did you switch to a new server,
or changed settings, or?

I have the same issue, but I can get email, just not send it.
Lots of research too, but no solutions to the many posts that reference
this.
Have to keep on trying to figure this one out.
BTW, I know this account works fine, it's only over VPN that this happens,
and only since we went to Exchange 2003 / AD.

This has never happened with the OSX Mail program but always been ther
with Entourage.
I still haven't found the solution :(
