This problem did not occurs until I recently upgraded my Entourage for
Daylight savings time (I had not upgraded it in about a year).

Whenever Entourage checks my exchange mail, it downloads it from the server
and places it in a 'Folders on my Computer' Inbox. This is VERY frustrating.
It also downloaded all the mail I had in folders and put it all in my inbox.
My mail is a complete MESS.

I am not using SSL.

This does not happen on my PC.

This is an EXCHANGE account. not a POP account.

Entourage Office 2004 (V 11.3.3)

Thank you for the help!

Hello to you all!

A message from another computer user:

Whenever Entourage checks my exchange mail, it downloads it from the server

I have this same problem with my computer, just as Louis has described it.
I have a hotmail account, which I think is a POP, but I am not sure, also, I
am working on a MacBookPro. Which has OSX and the latest downloads for
entourage, which I just installed today to fix the problem. I have
restarted and updated 11.3.4, as instructed on the website. Please advise!
And thank you for your time.

Best Regards,
Sheryl

I suspect that you recently rebuilt your database (or you have a
corruption in your Rules).

Check the Rules and Mailing List Manager to make sure the destination
folders are set properly.
This is a fairly common problem where these rules get messed up and the
e-mails are sent to the wrong destination.

Thank you for the reply.
I have no rules or mailinglist manager set up.

The problem did not happen before I upgraded (with auto update).

Hi Louis!

Can you please double-check Tools --> Mailing List Manager? I know you
said you don't have any rules or this set up but what you're describing
is a classic symptom of a MLM rule (not the same as Tools --> Rules)
that is often created without knowing it. I've never heard of anything
else causing the symptom you're describing.

Thanks! bill

Oh
My
God

You are right. There was a mailinglist thing. What is there? How did it get
there? I did not make it.

Thank you so much.

It's very easy to set up a MLM rule by accident, when you are marking a
message as 'not junk'. The wording of that dialog is ambiguous to say the
least.

This has hit the top 5 lists of FAQs.
