 - Logon Error and causing problems with Illustrator CS3 Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC I keep getting this error: Mail could not be received at this time. The server for Account (my account name) returned the error Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. Your user name/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password? When I click yes, it tries to get the mail and the same things starts all over again. In the past my IS guy made new user account, checked all the settings were correct and it started working again after I rebooted my system. That hasn't worked this time. What else can we try? Also, often when Entourage is open and I am working in Illustrator CS3, certain functions in Illustrator stop working (trying to drag/copy and drag/restrain specifically).  - FOLDERS DISAPPEAR IN THE FINDER-MAJOR BUG-WATCH OUT!! Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC Email Client: pop The project manager is BUGGY. I have always used hyphens at the beginning of folder names so my active projects stay at the top of the list in the finder, and also in the project manager in Entourage. Entourage 2008 didn't like the hyphens--when trying to assign an email to a project, the pull-down showed only a long line with no type. So I changed the hyphens to a period. Entourage would now display them, but the finder was not able to see the corresponding folders any longer!!!! They also were invisible to Quark Xpress. I was panicking until I realized what the prob was. Once i restored the names, they reappeared in the finder (in fact, I watched them reappear one by one as I made the changes).  - entourage failure to open Version: Older version Operating System: Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) Processor: Power PC I get a message saying that entourage cannot access my data and suggests that I rebuild my database. A typical rebuild failed ("compacting failed") with a message that a read/write error has occurred (-40). An advanced rebuild generated the same message and an additional message that it is likely my database cannot be repaired. I have Office x 2001 and the other programs seem to work fine.  - Can't delete e-mails - please help! My entourage account has some sort of problem that is preventing me from deleting certain e-mails. It is also duplicating a number of messages so that I'll end up with three or four of the same message (at least one copy of which I won't be able to delete). As a result of all this my inbox is getting way out of control. When I access my account online, I don't have these problems - it's just when I am on my normal account.  - When I log in to Entourage all messages are Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: intel Email Client: pop I have AT&T as my internet service provider. And since I have an iMac and Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac, I wanted to check my mail through Entourage rather than the AT&T/Yahoo webmail. So I set up Entourage. Everything is working fine. However when I open Entourage and receive all of my new messages, they are all marked as "received" at the same time. For example, when I open Entourage I have 10 new messages that are all "Received", Today 8:24 PM. I know these all couldn't have been sent to me at the same time.  - Subscribing to shared IMAP folders Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel All of the tools for subscribing to shared IMAP folders that were part of Entourage2004 seem to be missing in Entourage2008 and I find no mention of the issue in any of the help files. I am trying to subscribe to an IMAP folder created by my assistant but I can't see the folder and can't see how to subscribe to it. When checking the folder the file is not there. Also after I synchronize the folder the message doesn't show up. When I check the same folder in web based outlook it's there.  - 2008 BUG: Remove Attachments command makes Entourage go haywire... If I remove attachments (Message menu --> Remove All Attachments) it will do one of two things... 1) The email itself will disappear 2) The email itself will disappear and text from the missing email will be transposed on to the left column and will remain until you switch modes. FEATURE REQUEST: I was going to check if the functionality to remove attachments was more robust in 2008. I would like the ability to make a rule to delete certain attachments. Namely any that begin with "image00", which means that it's one of my windows counterparts putting a goofy image in their signature. Having these deleted on arrival would be great so that when I sort by attachment to find an email, I don't have to wade through these false positives. In 2008, I can switch identities and it gives me the option of my Archives identity, but my archives aren't there.  - MBP RAM: 3GB v. 2GB Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: pop Configuration: 17" MBP, 2.33 GHz C2D, 3GB DDR2 SDRAM OS X v10.5.2 In the *many* crashes of Excel & Powerpoint, I've noticed that the configuration of my computer reported to Microsoft states that there is only 2GB of RAM installed. However I have 3GB. If the crash is trapped by OS X, the correct configuration of the computer is reported to Apple. Anyone else seen this anomaly? Anyone with 3GB of memory having issues with 2008? I can't find any references to this - and I'm finding posts as of folks as frustrated as I with 2008 - and folks who are equally amazed we're having issues... I routinely work with >60+MB Excel spreadsheets, with LOTS of calculations... I'm back to using Office 2003 via Parallels - it's actually faster and less crash prone than 2008 running native. I am attempting to open/view/schedule appointments on another user's calendar (conference room) for which I have Author permissions. I can open/view the calendar (all of the appointments Sync down to my Entourage 2008 view).  - Syncing iCal and Entourage Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange Syncing Entourage and iCal Works absolutely perfectly, EXCEPT that when I erase an appointment from Entourage, it is not erased in iCal. However a change of schedule for an event in Entourage induces the same modification in iCal. Moreover, if I erase an event from iCal, this is correctly synced to Exchange To summarize, erasing an event in Entourage is not synced to iCal, everything else syncs perfectly. Any hints?  - Entourage 2008 & Exchange - birthday reminders disappear Hello, I'm using Entourage 2008 (12.0.1) with Exchange 2007 as well as Outlook 2007. If I enter a birthday for a contact via Outlook, a reoccurring calendar reminder is automatically added to my Exchange calendar. As soon as Entourage syncs with Exchange, I get an overdue reminder via MyDay. Suddenly, Entourage wipes out the calendar entry in Exchange/Outlook. This is occurring over and over, no matter how many birthdays I enter into my contacts. I'm certain it's Entourage removing the entires, as its on a MBP and not always running (like my desktop is). Has anyone encountered this problem before? Any suggestions for preventing this from happening? Or do I need to chalk this up to one more reason to not use Entourage with Exchange?  - Time Machine and Backups Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange I have read the recommnedations on how to backup Entourage and not use time machine but can't seem to get it to work. When I try to manually run it, it fails. Any suggestions where I might look for mistake. I make sure I had FolderOrg enabled and attached to the Identity folder which I guess allows for more then one copy. Not stop it from copying. I am trying to copy to a Networked Attached Storage Device which the system sees fine. Could that be a problem? When I manually run it it just "dings" and it's done instantly. This is a new problem I am having. If I go to my email server and view the email I can open the link but not in entourage. Does anyone have any help for me?  - Non-http URL (dgd://xxx) not clickable in Entourage 2008 (2004 ver Our product will send you HTML emails with our own type of URL that looks like dgd://blahblahblah. In Entourage in Mac Office 2004, those non-http URLs are underlined and clickable. But in Entourage in Mac Office 2008, these types of links are no longer clickable. It is much more convenient to our customers if they are clickable, else they have to cut and paste these into our application. (Wouldn't be so bad if they were never clickable, but Entourage from Office 2004 set the precedence so here we are ;) ). Is anyone aware of a way to make these non-http links clickable in Entourage circa 2008, either through configuration of Entrouage/Office/Mac OS X or perhaps in the way we render the link in the original html email. I know there's lots of commentary in forums on entering links in Entourage - this is different in that it deals with noticing non-http links in mail being displayed by Entourage and making such a link clickable in the Entourage application.  - How do you editing Distribution Lists from an exchange directory?  - AutoUpdate doesn't list 12.0.1 update I performed the 12.0.1 update manually using the .dmg I downloaded. In addition to not updating the version of Entourage, the update does not appear when I click "View Installed Updates" in the AutoUpdate app. I'm not sure whether this is designed behavior (since I didn't use AutoUpdate to get the update) but it seems sort of broken that this list would not include an update regardless of the manner of installation.  - entourage 2004 send/receive not working Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Email Client: imap have my "send/receive all" set to check for new messages every two minutes. but i am not getting any of my new message. i have to click on the other email account, then click back onto my inbox in order for any new messages to pop up. Hi Everyone, I'm new to this Newsgroup so I hope this question hasn't been
answered already. In our office we just upgraded to Mac Office 2008. I've
been happy with Entourage 2004 but am now on an Intel Mac 10.4.11. I noticed
that jpg pictures sent to me do not display in Entourage 2008 even though
I've checked "show attached pictures and movies in messages" in the
preferences. This is very annoying. Currently I have to click the attachment
and look at it with Preview. Interestingly HTML email sent to me displays
pictures just fine.

Any clues?

What size are these jpgs. There is a 400 kb limit if I remember correctly.
