 - Cannot Accept/Decline invitations sent from Windows user ... Hi there ... Using Entourage 2004 on my Mac, I am now able to create meetings nad=20 invite windows users ... however ... if they respond to me, or invite me = to a=20 meeting, all I get is a winmail.dat attachment along with some text = about=20 the meeting. I do not see the info bar where I can accept or decline. Do I have somthing misset? or perhaps do my Windows friends?  - Delete multiple categories? After finally getting my Entourage address book, OSX address book and my P800 phone address book 'synched up' I have ended up somehow with over 800 categories 790+ of which are 'blank' oe 'empty'. It seems that the only way i can delete them is if I go to 'edit categories' and manually delete one by one.  - auto fill for mac entourage? I use 2001 version and transferred my Now Contact contacts into Entourage. In Now Contact when I'd add a contact to an existing company in my db, it would automatically fill out the rest (Company name, address, zip etc.) so i didn;t have to keep typing.  - Removing Synchronizing Window with Entrouage 2004 + Exchange Hi - I just installed Entourage 2004 and I constantly get an annoying "Synchronizing with..." window that pops up whenever it is syncronizing. Can this window be removed? Also with Entrouage X, whenever someone would send me an email over the LAN, I would get it immediately, now it takes 5 minutes. Can someone tell me why?  - New Preview Pane view in 2004 Ok, I've already sent this to MS feedback, but would like to know if others have encountered similar issues on features they commonly used in previous Entourage versions. I also sent them a little 'tap' on their new default Group View option. (which can't be modified or turned off except by a painful folder by folder basis) To MacBU, Why did you add a email Preview Pane variation to the old shortcut ( <command>+\ ), and make a new shortcut variation ( <command>+<shift>+\ ) to the old Preview Pane view? I understand wanting to ensure users know about a new added feature, but to permanently modify an established behavior simply to show off a new variation and force me to change the way I work is incredibly bad form. It's more than that, it's maddeningly, frustratingly, pointlessly rude. Will it stop me from working? No. Will it waste any of my time? not really, but yes until retrain myself how to hide and show preview changes. Will I get over it? Maybe. It's not really an import thing, but it will be a element of frustration I will be reminded of EVERY time I have to use the new shortcut variation. "grrrr, Microsoft changed this for no good reason, grrr" It is these kinds of interface issues that comprise the majority of my frustrations with Microsoft Productivity products (mac or PC) I appreciate that a lot of thought, effort and testing goes into many of the features refined and added to new products. But each "Microsoft thinks you should do it this way" feature compounds and increases my general frustration with a product, the Microsoft Product line and ultimately, Microsoft itself. So, yeah. Not a big deal. Not big issue. But it pissed me off enough to write this, didn't it? Mantra: Do not make the user change the established way they work unless there is a compelling, unavoidable and painfully necessary reason. If a change doesn't make a users day some order of magnitude better, it will simply come off as "Microsoft knows better than you" or in this case as a sloppy add-on for which someone was to lazy to find an another way to tell us there was a new feature in town.  - Syncing multiple addresses to old Palms I'd quite like to sync Entourage's multiple addresses over to my Palm Tungsten, but being as it is only a "T" the built-in Palm apps don't support multiple addresses and stuff. I'm aware of: <URL:http://www.entourage.mvps.org/palm/note/00a.html> but I'd still like the multiple addresses :-) Does anyone know of any app that supports the new database formats on the Palm side?  - Entourage syncing issues HELP I am trying to sync my Palm m105 with my Entourage 2004 calendar and contacts. When I connect my Palm and hit the HotSync button nothing happens. I am running OS 10.3.4. I have tried using iSync as well and can't sync. When I go into HotSync Manager and I can set up the Entourage Conduit settings. But beyond that I can't do anything. I reinstalled the Entourage Handheld Conduit download from the Microsoft site. In my Library/Application Support/Palm HotSync folder the following files are located in the Conduits folder: Microsoft Entourage Conduit Install Conduit, Note Pad Conduit, Backup Conduit. I moved the Apple Conduit file to the Disabled Conduits folder. Also, the Disabled Conduits folder still has the date of the first time I installed the Entourage Handheld download--a month ago--not the date of today's reinstall.  - Emails Missing From Deleted Items Folder on Exchange Server We run an exchange server, with almost everyone here using PCs. My boss and I still run Macs, and use Entourage with IMAP as our email client. This morning, he showed me his deleted items folder, which had emails going back to 6/2/04, which is not as far back as they went last week. He said he had emails in there from 2003, and wanted to know where his emails were. He is using Entourage X, running on the latest version of Jaguar.  - Email addresses fill in gone? Hi Entourage is acting a bit strange When you start a new message you type the first syllable of the person who you want to mail to. Since 2 hours I only have email addresses who pop up in the Add space that I actually never mail , and all my regular email addresses seem to have gone out of that pop up list. Is there a way to work on that? They're still all inside my address book but for one way or the other It doesn't see these addresses anymore. Anyone? Am I losing mail, or not? Seem to receive some messages... Read earlier post on this problem, and tried checking the "use secure connection" for Receive mail as was suggested, but then received the message "Unable to establish a secure connection because the correct root certificate is not installed. If you continue, the information you view and send will not be secure." I really don't know what's going on...but I'd like to know if I'm getting all my mail. A fix would be welcome as well.  - crashes For the past 2 days, I have tried to send and receive mail, however=20 entourage just shuts down and asks if I want to send a crash report. I = have=20 changed nothing that I know of. I can send messages, but it crashes = when=20 trying to receive. I have performed virus scans as well as a database = typical=20 rebuild and nothing. Not sure where to turn now.  - deleting unwanted mail I use Entourage X Service Release 1 as my email client at home where I run Mac OS 10.2.8; and OE 5.1.6 at work where we are still using Mac OS9. At work OE is set up to delete mail more than three days old which has been moved to the "Deleted Items" folder. How do I do this with Entourage X? The other complication is that some mail (a very small percentage of the letters) in my Entourage X "Inbox" and "Deleted Items" folders are blanked out and cannot be manipulated.  - Entourage 2004 Will not Sync Contacts Properly I have a user who is running Windows 2000 with Outlook XP in the office and OS X 10.3 with Entourage 2004 at home. She is able to synchronize her Mail and Calendar without any problem, however she only gets 39 of her 1500+ contacts to sync. After troubleshooting the problem for awhile I found that certain contacts will not sync and are causing the problem. For example if I remove the 40th contact from her contacts folder at the office she will then be able to sync up until contact 46, if I remove that contact she will sync up until the next contact that Entourage does not like. She does have a Blackberry which I suspect may be the culprit here. What would cause this? Is there any way to identify which contacts are the problematic ones?  - Acrobat "Email" button and Microsoft Office 2004 While working in Acrobat, I cannot use the "Email" button to send an = Acrobat=20 file via Entourage 2004--but only on my G5 dual processor; the action=20 works on my G4 iBook.  - Palm conduit for 2004 removes addresses on handheld I am having difficulty with the Palm conduit for Entourage 2004. I installed it from Additional Tools and ran it, and it removed addresses from the contacts on my Tungsten T. I've checked the conduit settings, even tried having Entourage overwrite the handheld, but to no avail. This is, to say the least, quite frustrating.  - Crisis on the Russian Front! Endless Cyrillic Spam... I'm a new user of Office 2004, and generally love it. I've been, amongst other things, very impressed by the spam filter in Entourage. HOWEVER. I've been getting tons of Russian language spam. I have tried to develop rules using random words or isolated Cyrillic characters, but to no avail. It's the only spam I get.  - Can't retrieve mail.. Using OS 10.3.4 and Entourage v11.0. When entourage checks for mail on it's own, I get an error message-"The server can't be found. Be sure the mail server information is entered correctly in the Account Manager, and that your DNS settings in the Network Control Panel are correct." I can get messages most of the time when checking manually though. Same happens when second person is logged in under their own login ID. Any thoughts? This did not happen under 10.2.8.  - Once I connect to exchange over my VPN I lose access to the web? Hi When I connect over a VPN (PPTP setup using standard internet connect) my corporate connection to my exchange server works fine, but I lose all access to the internet. So I can use Entourage fine, but safari comes up blank on all sites. On my windows VPN setup I merely untick "Use Default Gateway" on the TCP/IP properties of my VPN to sort this problem out - is there an equivalent on the Mac somewhere - there's no way I can change any settings on the Exchange Server.....  - Send & receive button "sticky" My "Send & Receive" button in Entourage 2004 acts sort of sticky. It is often unresponsive to a mouse click (particularly after a period of computer inactivity). After several clicks, or sometimes if I click on the menu down arrow and select the "send & receive all" menu item, it will eventually check my mail.  - Import to Entourage X from Outlook 98 There are a number of free and shareware utilities out there, but the problem is that a lot of the mail is in Japanese and has Japanese headers.  - Invisible/phantom Entourage mail message won't delete, causes errors I seem to have an email which is invisible, and cannot be deleted. When I roll the mouse over it, an error occurs. If I move it up the screen, messages below it are also invisible. I have tried to isolate it by searching for it, and 'delete all' but the mongrel's too smart for that. My partner and I want to share the same account (view the same e-mails), but we'd like to be able to switch names, so that when each of sends mail, our name is in the "from". Is there any way to do this other than the cumbersome task of opening the account and retyping the name each time? 2.  - Project Issues - rebuild .rge files? Okay, so we've been using the Projects feature in Office 2004 for a few weeks now with mixed results. Contacts are still freaking out when they belong to more than one project, frequently appearing twice on some computers, then disappearing altogether when removed from one of the projects. It seems likely that this has something to do with how the different projects are syncing on different computers. I wish there were a way to force a sync on a single project; then I could at least test it. Also, we've had computers crash during a sync, which appears to destroy the project file entirely (we get an "could not read the data inthis .rge file" error). Is there a way to rebuild or force an overwrite of the .rge file (short of unsharing and resharing the project, which is a big pain)? If not, it seems the whole system is rendered very unstable--if a sync of any of the machines is interrupted, the .rge is in danger of being ruined.  - CSV import includes quotes I've been trying to get a large set of Contacts into Entourage. The problems are the email addresses, and the notes field. Entourage does a great job of importing Now Contacts, except for the email address field, where gobs of data go missing. This suggests a text import. On top of this, every available field is used in Now Contact, and since the fields in Now and Entourage don't entirely jive, I brought everything into Filemaker to concatenate data as necassary. The cleanup went fine. However, because the notes field has Paragraph marks, I need to import as CSV with quotes as text qualifiers. Filemaker exports fine, but Entourage imports the data with all the quotes, which is useless. I might import with Outlook for Windows, but the field mappings are different. 9 of the Custom fields were used in Now Contact, and Entourage has 8. Outlook 2002 for Windows has only 4 custom fields, plus other extra fields. I don't have time to experiment to see how the data lines up in Entourage and Outlook when they're both using an Exchange Mailbox. And of course, the custom fields weren't used consistantly over the 8 years of life, so this is just about making sure all the data is visible in Entourage, the main mail client to be used.  - Entourage 2004 Since loading Office 2004 I am encountering the following problems in Entourage: 1. As I am on an ADSL account I send & receive manually - but when I try to do this, on some occasions it won't let me. Instead it says "will send and receive within one minute" or similar. I've checked in the "Schedules" and see nothing about this. It does send & receive in about a minute, but this is very frustrating when I want to send & receive immediately. 2. When I send an email I often (maybe once in three) get a message saying I can't send & would I like to re-enter my password. I re-enter the password and get the same message.  - New Palm Conduit We really need an updated Palm conduit. Only being able to sync a single address per contact is totally unacceptable. Right there is no proper syncing on Mac either with Entourage (no multiple addresses) or Address Book (no categories). It might be acceptable for Address book that is free, but I paid good money for Entourage (both v.X and 2004) and I expect a functional product.  - Entourage 2004 send mail problem My Entourage 2004 works great with our Exchange; except in allowing me=20 to send email. I get Error: -18597; HTTP error. Access to the resource = is=20 forbidden. Ok I upgraded to this fantastic new upgrade! But have had nothing but
problems.
The main one is that even though my settings are set to delete messages
from server hen they are deleted from my computer, 2 hours later entourage
will download them all over again. Is this a bug?
I can click on the envelope at the left of my message and choose delete from
server also, but still the same happens. It can build up so I have a few
hundred messages, then suddenly everything works just fine, it appears to
delete the messages from the server and we start the cycle all over again!

Any help appreciated
