 - Sent messages time I have my e-mails sorted by when they were sent. And the sent sorting order works fine. But the time given in the upper right hand corner of each e-mail in my inbox is when I downloaded them from the server and not the time they were sent. Why?  - Blank Reply when Users Send Meeting Request I am using Entourage 2004 with Exchange and for some reason when someone using WinXP and Exchange sends me a meeting invite they automatically recieve blank email back from my address with the subject line of the Meeting Request and nothing in the body of the message. This is not related to me replying because the sender will get this blank mail before I have even had a chance to read and respond.  - Entourage and Office Notifications For some reason that I now cannot remember I set Entourage so that it doesn't ask me if I want to turn Office Notifications on when I start-up Entourage (I have to remember to do it and I often don't). Now I can't remember how to set it up so that it asks me again (I turn it off before I synchronize my files on going home and only want to turn it back on after I have synchronized again on coming back to work). -- Robert M.  - Strange account problems in Entourage 2004 My dad recently purchased Entourage 2004. He is running Panther (10.3.9) on a G4. I was visiting recently and he complained of the program not working. He was having trouble getting mail from his AOL account. I am no expert, but have used Entourage X successfully at work for a few years. I went into his accounts, set him up with settings to send and receive mail and things were working fine. The problem is that he has what appears to be a master account (which doesn't show up in the account list) and a sub account with his name on it. This isn't how Entourage X worked. The main folder has an inbox, outbox and sent folders. I don't recall exactly, but the sub account surely does not have an inbox. One of them contains a delete folder that he cannot empty. The sub account has strange icons--they look like network icons instead of typical folders. Any ideas? I would appreciate any help you can offer on his behalf. Thanks.  - Automatic booking of resources- Flaw Exposed Hi everyone, I am IT manager of a London Publishing company we have a mixed platform network with Apple mac computers in our creative department and some legacy machines in other departments. We are about to go Live with Exchange Server 2003 having migrated over from a mixture of Quickmail Pro Server and Now Up to Date and Contact (Don't Ask). These are the legacy of my predecessor and have worked well in a small workgroup but NUTD&C simply cannot cope with booking meetings for large numbers of people. It is unreliable and as a result people don't trust or use it. SO, we made the deciusion to move to Exchange server and Outlook/Entourage 2004 client combo. We have set up the exchange server and we're happy with the results. The Outlook clients are a snap to setup fining the server and their accounts straightaway. Likewise the entourage clients can see their accounts and auto setup fine (NB this is all down to DNS I reckon) PROBLEM: I created resource mailboxes for meeting rooms and equipment I set these up by logging into windows as the resource account and configuring outlook, then set up the resource to process replies automaticaly. With the PC Outlook clients they can book the resources and they get a practically instant response telling them that the resource has been successfully booked. With the Mac Entourage clients if they schedule the resource and set up the meeting the Meeting people get invited but NOTHING ELSE HAPPENS!!! No auto response....... If you then log in to the resource account in Windows and open their version of OUtlook the email request is sat there BUT IT HASN'T BEEN PROCESSED AUTOMATICALLY aaaaaaaaaaarrrgh!!!! Why is this happening?????? Can anybody shed any light on this for me, are we doing something wrong or is the software inherantly flawed.  - Entourage 2004 and Exchange 2003 Good Morning. My name is Bob Anderson and I work for Kent Sporting Goods in New London Ohio. I have an Exchange 2003 Server that I am setting up. We have not turned it on to the Outside World as yet. I have 4 users that are on MACs and using Entourage 2004. I have a certificate from the server installed on their machines. I am following the instructions in the Microsoft Office 2004 for MAC resource Kit. However it Entourage still says Not Connected. Is there any ideas that you can think of to resolve this.  - calendar window position bug? Office 2004 11.2.1 Is there a bug with remembering the window position of the calendar in Entourage? I always bring up a new window (Cmd-Opt-3) and on my work computer with two monitors, the main one being one of those 20 inch LCDs, the calendar window's last size and position is not remembered. Is this a known bug? The default size is too small for my liking.  - Error -17092 Hi there, I am new to Mac and therefore Entourage so I hope someone can help me! The other day I went to send an email however I must have typed in an invalid recipient because the message "invalid recipient" came up, the explanation said the message could not be sent. This was no problem, I re-typed the email and sent it to the right person. The problem now however, is that every time I hit "send and receive' Entourage tries to send this message again and the error continuously comes up. How do I get rid of this message so that Entourage stops trying to send it all the time! It is not in my outbox or anything so have no idea to get rid of it! This is very frustrating however.  - Port # used by Entourage Hello all, my company uses MS Exchange and MS Outlook as our main mailing env. however, I have recently added a PowerMac G5 to this network and installed MS Office 2004. I expected Entourage to work seamlessly as it's configuration setup is identical to the Windows (thank god!) however, I am not able to connect to my mail server. Our company blocks all the ports be default and enables only the ones we need. My sys admin says that MS Entourage seems to use a different port than Outlook and if I know which port needs to be opened then it might work - is this true.  - Can't remove an attachment from an e-mail after upgrading to Entourage 2004 v.11.2.1 Hello, I used to be able to remove just the attachments from e-mail messages created by me in Entourage 2004. However, since upgrading to OS X 10.4 (am now at 10.4.5), and updating to Entourage 2004 v.11.2.1, I can no longer do this. The option to "Remove" is greyed out. I need to be able to remove big attachments from my sent e-mails but keep my those messages in my "Sent" box for at least several weeks. Am using Entourage in a corporate environment with an Exchange Server. We have very limited e-mail storage space so those attachments must be deleted ASAP. Any thoughts? One used to be able to "Remove" attachments in earlier versions of 2004. This is enough to prevent me from moving my designers to 10.4!  - Can't access database issue with Entourage 2004 Greetings, I'm hping that someone might be able to assist me. I recently purchased a 12' G4 Powerbook and transfered the files from a G4 eMac into it. My wife and I both have accounts on the machine. I have no trouble opening Entourage on my account but when trying to open Entourage on my wife's account I get the error "Can't access database". It suggests re-building the database and then shuts downs and opens the database utility program. I have re-built the database but that does not seem to help. I have removed the Microsoft User Directory and preferences and, even though it creates new ones, it still says it cannot access the database. The original database is still on the eMac and is working fine so it does not appear to be a case of corruption. I am using Mac OS x.4.5 on both machines and it is Entourage 2004 11.2.1 on both machines. I have done a re-install of Office on the laptop. I have tried a straight copy from the eMac to the laptop as well as using Cronosync for the transfer. Has anyone else run across this problem and does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it? However, often when I select to switch users, a pop-up window instructs me that in order to do this, I need to close out of all Office 2004 apps and then re-open Entourage When I do that, I can readily switch between my wife's account and my own.  - Contact Pictures between OSX and WinXP I have clients on OSX (with the latest Entourage) and clients on Winxp (with Office 2k3) on the same domain. The OSX clients use our Exchange 2003 server no problem. I also have several clients who move between OSX and WinXP. They want to know why if they have pictures on their contacts (either in OSX or in Office 2k3) those same pictures do not cross platforms. For instance: Joe sets up Office 2k3 on the PC and adds pictures to his contacts. The contacts are stored in Exchange 2k3 at the server level. Then he goes to his OSX machine, sets up Entourage, all his contacts are there (at the server) with all the correct information, just no picture. Can anyone explain/assist?  - Confusion on how Palm Treo 600 syncs w/ Entourage local and Exchange folders I'm an intermediate/advanced PC Outlook user that's switched to a MacBook at work. We use Exchange Server w/ our PCs. I had my Outlook setup w/ a personal folder and ran everything from my laptop, including syncing w/ my Treo 600 and pulling mail off of an Exchanger Server account. I couldn't figure out how to implement a similar configuration in Entourage. I have the "Folders on My Computer" and a separate Exchange account to connect to the Exchange Server. When I Hotsync, my Calendar and Contacts sync w/ the Exchange account and my Tasks and Notes sync w/ the local folders. For the life of me, I can't seen to find where this is controlled, I checked and changed the Palm Desktop Sync settings but nothing different happened. Ideally, I'd like ALL of the syncing to only occur w/ my local folder. That way my contacts and notes won't be stored on the Exchange server. Ideas?  - Switcher using Entourage, moved from Outlook 2003 on PC - several questions I'm an intermediate/advanced PC Outlook user that's switched to a MacBook at work. We use Exchange Server w/ our PCs. Is there a way to NOT have 2 separate "folders", this local folder and Exchange account?  - Need to clear Entourage cache Hi- We have some Exchange accounts being accessed by Entourage 11.2.1 and also by Outlook 2003. Some Exchange accounts are accessed by more than 1 user (assistant/boss relationship) We began to see calendar invites that were accepted by the assistant not showing up on the owner's computer. So I was told Entourage has cache issue where data can get corrupted locally and cause probs with data on Exchange server. A rebuild could potentially cause items not showing to get deleted from the server. It was suggested to locate the Entourage cache and remove it and allow it to re-download all items and build a new cache. Where is the cache and does it contain all mailbox items or are there separate caches for calendar/email/tasks/etc? It would be nice to only remove the calendar cache.  - Entourage 2004 Printing Calendar?? I'm trying to export my calendar as a pdf (in the print function) in entourage so that it will display the way it's shown on my screen. (Which is a week view showing 7 columns). I'm currently getting 2 columns with 7 days when saving as a pdf. I know this is how iCal creates a pdf for calendars, but it looks unclear and messy with all the event bubbles. Does anyone have any advice on this or have any other alternatives?  - setting up ldap access for an os x server Hi. I have an OS X Server (10.4.5) and want to access the ldap via Entourage 2004. I can access the ldap with Address book no problem. But when I put the same info in Entourage, I get the -17766 error. I have tried all the different options in the directoy service prefs in Entourage. Any ideas? Thanks. FYI.  - Searching for an email fragment? I am using the search box to find people from certain domains, e.g. From | Contains | @domain.com But this doesn't work if the sender has set their name in their email client (or I have set them in my address book presumably). Their from address becomes their name, and not their email address. So Joe Bloggs <joe@domain.com> won't be in the search results unless I actually put Joe, or Bloggs.  - Entourage 2001 and Exchange 2003 I have been able to get Entourage to connect to my Exchange 2003 server via imap for email purposes. Is it possible to access the GAL using Entourage 2001. My GAL is actually on one of my domain controllers. I am not concerned with sharing calendars, public folders or any of the other features of Exchange.  - Upgraded Mac OS, now I can't hotsync I have a Palm Tungsten E and in the past have had no trouble hotsyncing it with my Microsoft Entourage 2004 using the Conduit Manager that came with the application. But since I upgraded my iMac G5's OS from 10.4.4 to 10.4.5 last week, I can no longer hotsync. If I press the hotsync button on my Palm, it just hangs. I finally have to cancel, at which point an error message tells me that "the connection could not be established." Once, and only once, I was able to hotsync this week by launching the Conduit Manager software in my Palm folder. But I have not been able to reproduce that result when I tried again. I've also tried different USB ports, to no avail. The Microsoft and Apple websites seem to be mum about this issue, so I don't know if anyone else has a solution? As of now, I'm stuck. I notice that whenever I drag a message to a closed folder in the sidebar folder list and navigate more than one folder deep in the hierarchy using spring-loaded folders, only the topmost visible folder recloses--all the other folders deeper in the path to the destination remain open. In other words, if all the folders at the root level are closed, folders at the second level and deeper remain open; if a folder is open at the root level, folders at the third level and deeper remain open; etc. This is not a huge burden, but it does require me to periodically close a lot of folders to reduce clutter, and it would be nicer if it didn't happen.  - Custom Arrangement - Advice sought Hi, I've set up a custom arrangement (called 'Thread'), for arranging posts & related replies when viewing newsgroups. The sorting is as follows : Custom arrangement name: Thread Group items by: Conversation Sort groups by: Conversation A on top Sort items within groups by: Conversation Index Newest on top Default display for groups: Expanded This is an exact copy of the 'Edit Custom Arrangements' window for the arrangement. It works fine, but my *own* posts, once marked as read (the default 3 seconds thing) drop to the bottom of the sorting, irrespective of posting date ?? So, all posts in a thread remain in perfect date order, apart from my own, which collect at the bottom? Can anyone shed some light on this, or maybe someone could advise on a better way of viewing threads (alpha sorted by conversation & then sorted in date order, newest on top).  - PDF files Not Viewable by PCs - HELP I have sent a few test emails to several PC users and they have informed me that they receive the email with a red x in the body of the text and no image. I sent a test email to my own hotmail account and through the web, saw the same thing. I am inserting pdf files in the email body. What am I doing wrong? I used to use a PC with Outlook and never had problems sending html emails for my business. Since moving to Entourage on the Mac I feel that my email marketing is crippled!  - No deletion messages in Entourage 2004 Hello ! Some users said me that it was impossible to delete mails in Entourage 2004 for Mac OSX for mailboxes taken up their default profile. They delete mails with "delete message" but they only copy in "deleted items" and stay in "inbox".. even after "delete deleted items" ! I have Exchange 2003 with SP1 on Windows 2003 with SP1.  - Calender informtion from other Exchange postings don't sync Entourage worked as usual an all Macs. But for a while ago one of the macs got a problem that the calender informtion from other Exchange postings don't sync. When this user gets a new calendar event from other exchange users it will not pop up in his calender as usual. The email comes. But can't confirm or not confirm this event. Over the last couple of weeks, entourage has twice gone out and
downloaded over over 1500 old messages and loaded them in as
duplicates. Is there a tool or program to check my mail database (I'm
assuming something is corrupted), and then eliminates the duplicates.
Am running Entourage 2004 for Mac.
