        • Entourage 12.0.1 & Blackberry get out of Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange I have recently upgraded to Entourage 12.0.1 and since doing so messages in the Entourage inbox no longer match those on my Blackberry phone. It appears to be a problem when messages are deleted or moved from the inbox in Entourage they remain on the phone. When you look on Outlook or with Web Mail they are gone, but they remain on the phone. If you do deletions or moves with Web Mail or Outlook they reflect immediately on the phone. (if you open a mail on Entourage it shows as read on the phone and visa versa). I read that there is a bug in Entourage that deletes the "mail id" which Blackberry (BES) uses to track the message and thus they get out of sync. I was also told there might be a server side issue on Exchange or BES, but our IT people can't trace anything. The fact that Outlook and the Web Mail client do not exhibit the same problem indicates to them that there is an Entourage problem. Any ideas? • Send & Receive causes Entourage 2008 to hang The subject pretty much tells the tale. There is only one account set up going to our Exchange 2003 server. Since Send & Receive is not needed, I disabled all of the schedules. The question is what the heck does it think it is syncing? Maybe this would give me a clue as to why it is hanging when it does try to sync. This user had his home Mac start doing it a fdew weeks ago, now it has started on his office Mac. • Not all contacts export to vcf Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel I am trying to export contacts from my address book to a folder on my desktop by dragging the group of contacts. The total number of contacts that I am trying to export is 380. I select all the contacts and then drag them to my folder on the desktop. When I open the folder on the desktop, there are only 314 contacts in the folder. I located one of the contacts that didn't export and successfully exported it by dragging it to the desktop folder. I then opened the vcf card of a contact that exported in the group and a vcf card of the contact that I had to export individually. From what I could see from the "get info", there was no difference in the two cards. Is there a good reason why this is happening? • Office 2008 reminders don't appear automatically I have multiple reminders (calendar events) set to "Every Day" yet they don't automatically appear each day. The only way to get them to appear is to close the Office Reminders app and reopen it. Once I do that all of my reminders for that day appear. I've update to 12.0.1 and all my apps reflect this except Office Reminders which still shows 12.0.0 (071130). Microsoft Database Daemon is in my login items and I've checked Activity Monitor to confirm that it's running. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but I used Office 2004 previously and all of my reminders were created in that version. Any ideas why this is happening? • AppleScript on Entourage 2004 vs. Entourage 2008 We have a photo program which utilizes an AppleScript to send images via email. This application is running on an Intel-based Mac running v10.5.2 with Entourage 2008 v12.0.1. The following script successfully launches Entourage, loads up a new draft message, and attaches all images perfectly: on open tList tell application "Microsoft Entourage" activate set nMessage to make new draft window with properties {to recipients:"email@mailinator.com"} repeat with i in tList make new attachment at nMessage with properties {file:i} end repeat end tell end open However, one of our alternative scripts launches Entourage 2008, but it does not launch a new message or attach the images. This script was written for and works on Entourage 2004 (11.4), OS v10.4.11, but not on the system running Entourage 2008: on open theList tell application "Microsoft Entourage" activate set newMessage to (make new outgoing message) repeat with aFile in theList make new attachment at newMessage with properties {file:aFile as alias} end repeat end tell end open Looking for suggestions on how to correct the second script so it will execute completely on Entourage 2008. • One way Calendar with Exchange Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: imap This is not a question, but a tip. I have found a way to update my Entourage calendar on an Exchange Server using IMAP. You might know this already, but just in case. Open the Calendar folder from the mail view. You may have to go to the folders on server to find it. To add the folder, select the rollup (IMAP mailbox name) just above the INBOX. You will see a list of folders. Just double click the Calendar folder. Once it is added, select it. IMAP will sync the information in the folder. When you change to the Calendar view, your Calendar has been updated. Too bad it doesn't work the other way too and for Contacts. Tag: Entourage automatically trashes meeting requests Tag: 94671

        • Why does Exchange Support cost ~$250 Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange I purchased Student and Home not thinking I would need exchange support. But now realize the short coming in Entourage and require the Exchange support. I asked Microsoft if I could purchase an update version of Standard and was told no. I would have to send my current version in for refund. Wait approx. 25 days for my refund and purchase a full version. In my book, that is paying $250 just for exchange support in the package. I wish I could find the receipts for the 3 Office Pros I have for the PC and refund those to cover the cost. Or better yet, allow me to download the media and use the current PC key. Can anyone tell my why Exchange is soooo expensive? It used to be free with Exchange Server. Tag: Entourage automatically trashes meeting requests Tag: 94668

        • 2008 Entourage Exchange Loses all Account settings at reboot Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange I have a new (1 month old) imac, and just recently (two weeks ago) installed MS Office 2008. I am running OS X Leopard and Entourage connecting to my office exchange account (only email account going in to Entourage for now). I am logged in as the administrator and this is the only user account set up on the machine. I have re-booted the machine 4 times now (software updates requiring re-boot, upgrading memory) and each time I have rebooted (this is the 3rd time no since I installed Entourage) Entourage thinks it is a brand new install and prompts me to set up a new account. It is like Groundhog day! When I go to account settings, there are no accounts set up, and all of my emails, calendar, contacts etc are gone. I set up the account again, and, several hours later after synchronizing with the server, everything is back in order on my desktop. Obviously, I don't want to go through this every time I reboot! • Messages + Contacts Not Visible on Mac Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange I have scoured the web on this and found only one similar report (http://www.mackb.com/Uwe/Forum.aspx/entourage/20528/Entourage-08-Exchange-03-sync-calendar-but-not-messages). I am using Entourage 2008 for the first time. I am inside the corporate firewall, and have tried connecting directly to the mail server and to the OWA server. When Entourage synchs, it appears to go through all the motions -- it recognizes subfolders in the exchange account, it even shows my calendar entries. I can do LDAP lookups, and even set user permissions on exchange folders (the changes were confirmed in OL2007). However, all of the contact and mail folders remain empty no matter how many times it syncs. I created a folder on Entourage and it showed up in OL2003 (under parallels). A post to that folder from Entourage also showed up on OL2007, but as soon as I had read it in OL, it no longer appeared in Entourage after the next sync. I have: Made sure that "Show Only Unread" and "Show Only Flagged" are NOT checked. Made sure there are no client-side rules or mailing list managements Tried both direct to the backend and to the OWA server Flushed/Rebuilt/deleted the local identity. Etc. I think we are running Exchange 2003, but I am not positive. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Tag: Entourage automatically trashes meeting requests Tag: 94613

        • Emails on server Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Email Client: pop I have set up Entourage to get all of the emails from my gmail account and its been working fine. Does anyone know of a way to set it up so that once entourage downloads emails from the gmail server it marks those emails as read on the gmail server? I'm running into the problem where I will read emails on entourage and then sign onto gmail from work or something and nothing is marked read so I have to click on them all to figure out what's new and what I had already read on entourage. Thanks! Tag: Entourage automatically trashes meeting requests Tag: 94612

        • Kerio Mail Server a solution to Entourage/Exchange sync mismatch? I decided to set this up as a separate topic since no one seemed to address it directly here. While doing some research on Entourage 2008 and the continued lack of sync ability between its tasks feature and MS Exchange Server (including 2007), I came upon a product called Kerio MailServer (currently in v 6.5 at www.kerio.com). This product purports to fully support all Exchange features in both MS Outlook and MS Entourage FULLY (unless I missed something). It also seems to be well designed and highly accessibly including a slick looking web interface that I have heard is quite functional. As an added bonus it also supports Blackberry, iPhone, iCal, Apple Address Book and others from what I can recall. If all the above is true and works well then it looks like a panacea to the problems that people have been complaining about regarding lack of sync capabilities between Entourage and Exchange. I may be signing up for a test with one of their hosted service providers to test the product and see how it works before making any drastic changes to our team's existing system given that it works quite well for Windows based users. I would like to hear any comments or feedback if you have them on this product. Tag: Entourage automatically trashes meeting requests Tag: 94610

        • Inboxes Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Power PC Email Client: imap I am using Entourage with 3 IMAP inboxes. When I returned to my computer this evening, Entourage was not responding. I force-quit it and restarted it. Now only my default inbox "shows" on the left. The other inboxes are not visible. When I click on Window, it drops down to show only 1 open inbox. What's up? Tag: Entourage automatically trashes meeting requests Tag: 94604

        • Error -18578 when trying to receive email Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange Hello, I just got a macbook pro from work and entourage was set up for me by our IT team. It worked fine for a few days, but now I'm receiving this error when entourage tries to pull my e-mail: Error -18578 Could not synchronize record: Delivery Status Notification (Failure) to exchange server. The thing is, my email will still be pulled the first time around. However it won't work after that and I have to relaunch Entourage each time to check my e-mail. Any ideas? This is very frustrating. • PDF displays are rough Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC Email Client: Exchange Is there an issue with Entourage and CMYK PDF's? I have PDF's displaying within the client app but very poorly. The image has drop out lines passing horizontally. Like an interlaced NTSC frame capture has. Similar to what a CMYK used to look like when dropped onto earlier browsers. Anyway, anyone heard of any issues for CMYK PDF's displaying poorly? I have the full upgrades and updates in place on 10.4.11 PPC Dual 2 GHz tower and Office 2008. And yes, they look great in Acrobat and Preview. • Problems connecting to Exchange after 12.0.1 update After installing the update from file (not Auto Update) to our Office for Mac "test" machine, Entourage no longer wants to connect to our Exchange 2007 SP1 server. Keeps returning the "Mail cannot be recieved at this time: Bad username/password" error. The account is fine as the user can log into OWA with no problems. I have recreated the profile once already to no avail. The only thing left (as far as I can see) is to reinstall Office back to 12.0.0. Any other ideas?
