I have upgraded to Office 2008. One of my mailboxes is on a hosted Exchange server, also synched to my BlackBerry. I imported the Entourage 2004 identity and everything synchs fine, except for address book contacts.
First no contacts showed up in the folder, then I manually copied the previous identity contacts, and I got duplicate contacts in my Exchange account.
Now the problem is that address book synch doesn't occur at all between Entourage 2008 and the Exchange server (and the Blackberry too, of course). If I add a contact in Entourage it shows up in the Exchange mailbox, but not the other way round. Today I added a contacts on the Blackberry and nothing showed in Entourage.
Calendar and email synching work flawlessly (so far :-)).
I verified the settings and all seems ok.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for the help. I really like the new software, and I wouldn't want to downgrade again.
Best regards,
Daniele

H ithere,

Can you try making a new identity and re-create your Exchange account? =
Lets see if it downloads everything from the Exchange server first, then =
lets see if you create new items in Entourage if those will be uploaded =
to the Exchange server. Lets see if the basics work first then lets =
look at getting the Blackberry in the picture, etc.

Thanks,

Hi Jaime,
I did as suggested. I deleted the account and created it from scratch. It reloaded all data, except contacts. I added a calendar event and a contact in Entourage, and both were uploaded to the Exchange server.
I added a calendar event on the Exchange server (through OWA) and it was copied to Entourage. I did the same with a contact, and it hasn't appeared in Entourage yet.
Do you have any other means to create contacts other than OWA? Maybe =

So you're saying that no matter what you do, you are never able to get any
contacts to sync down from your Exchange server?

Jamie,

Here is a summary to this point with my testing. ( I posted earlier ) New Contacts added on the Entourage side, as well as edits from either side on those new records, sync just fine. Deletes on records created from Entourage also sync from either side.

New contacts added from Outlook 2003 never appear on the Entourage side. I have tested this from multiple computers. I also tried syncing Entourage with the Apple Address Book which had previously been synced with Exchange. This created duplicates. The only records that would sync when deleted were the new duplicate records created when Entourage and Address Book synched.

I would love for you all to fix this program

Dear jaime,
I'm sorry that I couldn't elaborate further on the contact sync issue, but my comeback to work was pretty hectic.
Anyway, I just downloaded and installed the patch, and now everthing seems to be working fine.
Thanks for contributing in fixing this issue and for the quick response.
Keep up the good work, now using Entourage will be more pleasant :-).
Best regards,
Daniele
