 - Meetings Accepted from a program other than Entourage 2004 sp2 Hello, I am having a issue with the grey and black side bars that show up as tenative or accepted, respectively for meetings requests in Entourage 2004 connected to an Exchange 2003 server. If I accept meetings requests in Entourage they show up with the black side bar as accepted or grey if I accept tentative. However if I accept meetings through my Treo 700w running Windows mobile 5.0 and exchange active sync they show up grey as if I selected accept tentative, even through Entourage says that I have accepted the meeting Anyone know why this happens and how to correct the problem?  - Entourage incorrectly rendering HTML in emails I have a simple email (sent by SharePoint) that Entourage is rendering incorrectly. I have made sure that complex HTML formatting is turned on in the HTML preferences. All the HTML tags are stripped out and text is run tigether. This causes links to be mangled by adding the following word to the link. (Ex: https://sharepoint.company.org/sites/EXECClick from the example below.) Below is the html source of the email.  - Can not open my database! Using Entourage 2004 I put a database file onto a different computer than I normally use at work, so I could download my email. After downloading the email I copied it back to my USB key and put it back on my home computer later that day. When opening Entourage it told me: "This identity cannot be opened with this version of Entourage." Both versions are Entourage 2004. Anyone have any idea why it will not open??  - The action could not be completed. Mail error. I've been getting this with more frequency in Entourage X. Rebuidling the database always clears things up, but it seems that I have to rebuild more often. My database is a 2.25GB in size, running os 10.4.5 on a 17" powerbook. I've rebuilt permissions and all of the other voodoo suggested in online FAQs. I'm concerned that the program seems to be getting less reliable.  - Entourage 2004 - Could not retrieve mail / error -51 Using 11.2.1.. whenever I try and retrieve my POP mail, I get a "Could not retrieve mail. Error: -51". The authenticating seems fine, the problem appears to be when Entourage is trying to store the email. I've tried creating a new profile, but the same error occurs. Any ideas?  - why can't you put hyperlinks in entourage mail Why can't I put hyperlinks in entourage mail. I like to put my website in my signature and entourage doesn't seem to be able to make that a hyperlink (when you look in the help files under hyperlink it isn't even listed, so I don't think I'm imagining this). On the Data Merge palette, expand the Merge pane, if it isn't already. Click on Query Options, and in that new dialogue, use the dropdown list at the very top to list mail merge recipients by "complete record". You'll now see your entire address book, with checkboxes in front of each contact. Since you only want to print ~30, you'd better click on Clear All in the lower left corner and then individually select the contacts you need. If you now click on OK and then print the document, you should theoretically get what you want. If that's not the case, post back. And make sure you hit "reply to newsgroup" if you do so.  - Order of folders Is there a way to change the order of Entourage Folders--not those set up by me. I'd like to move my "Drafts", "Outbox", "Deleted Items", and "Junk E-mail" to the bottom of the list so that more of my personally created folders show. Before my hard-drive failure and reinstallation, I know that my deleted items and junk e-mail folders were further down, but I can't seem to get them to move now. Dragging doesn't seem to work.  - Font sizes for viewed items I'm using Entourage 2004 on a 12 inch Powerbook. I don't mind having my folder list in a smaller font--even the e-mail items are okay slightly smaller. But I would really like to have the Preview pane defaulted to a slightly larger size. I know that I can hit the button to increase font size, but I'd have to do that for EVERY e-mail.  - Importing Holidays I just read an old (more than a year old) thread about importing Holidays into Entourage. I had NO idea that this could be done. I always wondered why they weren't automatically there, but didn't realize that there was a way to bring them in.  - Entourage 2004 w/ Network Home Folders Does ANYBODY have Entourage 2004 w/ SP2 (11.2.1) working correctly with network homes on OS X Panther/Tiger? We have implemented it and the Database is constantly just at random deciding its corrupted or the database deamon will crash when attempting to read public folder messages by clicking the "Get Entire Message" within the Email. I have heard others say MS told them they dont support network homes which I think is extremely lame and is a HUGE flaw in Office 2004 and makes it completely useless in the enterprise if it cant use network homes.  - Entourage Archiving Best Practice?? I am looking for a solution that will let me easily archive old Entourage email messages and then later search and browse the archives (by to, from, dates, subject and contents if possible). I have tried MailSteward, which seems to be built for Apple Mail, and works so-so with Entourage. I also saw Entourage Email Archive X shareware, but haven't found any reviews or validation of how it works. To date, I have been archiving with Ent. and re-importing archives when I need to search for something. Seems there should be an easier (and faster) way. What do the MVP's suggest?? Thank you.  - Entourage 2004, IMAP error 1025 In Entourage 2004 I have an IMAP account set up. When I access the INBOX, Entourage shows this error: ERROR Mailbox vulnerable - directory /var/spool/mail must have 1777 protection Explanation Mail could not be received at this time. Account name: "<account name>" Error: 1025 This error does not occur in Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5 when I access the same IMAP e-mail account. Is there a solution for this error?  - deleted mail folder for some reason I have 6 emails in my deleted mail folder that will not delete. I have tried purging the folder, holding down the command key and pushing the delete key at the same time, i tired setting up a schedule to delete the mail, i changed the preview pane to none, nothing has worked. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this mail? I have read about rebuilding but I dont know exactly what that does and if it is what i need. Please advise.  - Disconnect web/data I looked through the entire manual for 650 and found no instructions to disconnect from the web/data functions. This includes web, versamail, etc. When I look in the menu for versamail, under options, there is a selection to 'disconnect.' But in the blazer web browser there is no such command under options or the other menus. All I can think of is to switch to versamail to use the disconnect, or turn the phone off.  - Exchange data is not syncing properly I am using version Entourage 11.2.1. I have just started using an Exchange server to sync mail, calendar and contacts. I am waiting for the current server (Hpbizmail) to support Treo synchronization. I need to therefore sync locally. I have selected the exchange account as default. Whenever I sync (using Missing Sync) to my Palm Treo I now only get half the contacts and calendar for the current week.  - Attachments increase in size? Situation is a user is using Entourage 2004 (11.2.1) with OS 10.3.x - she is trying to send a 4.6MB PDF file which is barely under our send limitation of 5MB - somehow it increases to 5.5MB in size during sending, so it violates the file size limit and gets kicked back to her.  - Installer for Palm sync to Entourage Microsoft Entourage website includes Installer 3.5.3 for syncing Entourage with Palms I get a message on my palm each time I turn it on or sync, that says the installer is not compatible, and then another message saying to delete the installer now.  - Importing mbox & contact files This has been a nightmare. My husband upgraded to 10.4.5 which caused problems with Retrospect and he lost all of his backups on his external hard drive. In addition to using Retrospect, he always manually backed up his MS User Data to the external drive. Since he didn't have Retrospect, he manually backed up his current MS User Data to replace the data already on the backup. Unknown to him, his current database was corrupt and wiped out his backup. Now he has no backup and he kept getting an error when he tried to backup again (Error -36). Entourage was still working, so he tried moving all of his mboxes to the desktop. Some moved with no problem but a couple of folders wouldn't move at all (probably the corrupt ones). He then tried rebuilding Entourage and now it just crashes and won't open at all. He does have Entourage on his Powerbook (unfortunately, it was last backed up in August, 2005). He would like to take the mboxes that did successfully move to his desktop and import them into Entourage on his Powerbook. We plan on backing up what's on his Powerbook before we do anything. What is the best way to import the mboxes into Entourage? Should he worry about the mboxes that did successfully move being corrupt? He also has both contact files and contact group files to import. I think the individual contacts should be easy (they are vcf), but the groups are weird. He can open the group files on his desktop to see what's in them, but there doesn't seem any way to import or export them. It won't even let him copy and paste. Also because the group files are for a mailing list, he doesn't necessarily have everyone in his individual file. It would take a long time to input the info manually.  - Move old email to exchange Ok, I have users who have been using Entourage 2004 for awhile, recently the company moved to an exchange server. I have tried to do research on how to take their email from the computer and imported into exchange. In windows you take their PST file an imported, but on the mac I have no idea.  - Crash upon opening Hello. I am having great difficulty opening Entourage without it crashing. I was in the process of deleting large sent emails, so I had arranged them by size order and was going through one by one so as to make sure I didnt delete anything important. This was going OK until it crashed, when i try to open again it tries to load the sent mail pane and this cause it to crash again. How can I fix this problem? Any why does it crash so easily?  - Backup of Main Identity folder is unreadable Running Office 2004 on OSX 10.3.5. Backup of Main Identity onto a CD-RW with Roxio Toast 5.2.3 ISO 9660 setting (CD-ROM XA format, allow macintosh names, use apple extensions) produces an unreadable Database file. The file is the same size but is a "Unix executable file" rather than a "Microsoft Entourage database" file.  - Entourage continues to download all old mail Over the last couple of weeks, entourage has twice gone out and downloaded over over 1500 old messages and loaded them in as duplicates.  - Sent messages time I have my e-mails sorted by when they were sent. And the sent sorting order works fine. But the time given in the upper right hand corner of each e-mail in my inbox is when I downloaded them from the server and not the time they were sent. Why?  - Blank Reply when Users Send Meeting Request I am using Entourage 2004 with Exchange and for some reason when someone using WinXP and Exchange sends me a meeting invite they automatically recieve blank email back from my address with the subject line of the Meeting Request and nothing in the body of the message. This is not related to me replying because the sender will get this blank mail before I have even had a chance to read and respond.  - Entourage and Office Notifications For some reason that I now cannot remember I set Entourage so that it doesn't ask me if I want to turn Office Notifications on when I start-up Entourage (I have to remember to do it and I often don't).  - Strange account problems in Entourage 2004 My dad recently purchased Entourage 2004. He is running Panther (10.3.9) on a G4. I was visiting recently and he complained of the program not working. He was having trouble getting mail from his AOL account. I am no expert, but have used Entourage X successfully at work for a few years. I went into his accounts, set him up with settings to send and receive mail and things were working fine. The problem is that he has what appears to be a master account (which doesn't show up in the account list) and a sub account with his name on it. This isn't how Entourage X worked. The main folder has an inbox, outbox and sent folders. I don't recall exactly, but the sub account surely does not have an inbox. One of them contains a delete folder that he cannot empty. The sub account has strange icons--they look like network icons instead of typical folders. Any ideas? I would appreciate any help you can offer on his behalf. Thanks.  - Automatic booking of resources- Flaw Exposed Hi everyone, I am IT manager of a London Publishing company we have a mixed platform network with Apple mac computers in our creative department and some legacy machines in other departments. We are about to go Live with Exchange Server 2003 having migrated over from a mixture of Quickmail Pro Server and Now Up to Date and Contact (Don't Ask). These are the legacy of my predecessor and have worked well in a small workgroup but NUTD&C simply cannot cope with booking meetings for large numbers of people. It is unreliable and as a result people don't trust or use it. SO, we made the deciusion to move to Exchange server and Outlook/Entourage 2004 client combo. We have set up the exchange server and we're happy with the results. The Outlook clients are a snap to setup fining the server and their accounts straightaway. Likewise the entourage clients can see their accounts and auto setup fine (NB this is all down to DNS I reckon) PROBLEM: I created resource mailboxes for meeting rooms and equipment I set these up by logging into windows as the resource account and configuring outlook, then set up the resource to process replies automaticaly. With the PC Outlook clients they can book the resources and they get a practically instant response telling them that the resource has been successfully booked. With the Mac Entourage clients if they schedule the resource and set up the meeting the Meeting people get invited but NOTHING ELSE HAPPENS!!! No auto response....... If you then log in to the resource account in Windows and open their version of OUtlook the email request is sat there BUT IT HASN'T BEEN PROCESSED AUTOMATICALLY aaaaaaaaaaarrrgh!!!! Why is this happening?????? Can anybody shed any light on this for me, are we doing something wrong or is the software inherantly flawed. Hi, I am trying to create an additional contacts folder. In Outlook
(PC) I could create anotherone to hold the business contacts or older
contacts i rarely use. This facilitates the synch process with the PDA
not overloading it with info I don't need in it.

Any idea how to do this on Entourage? Thanks SO much. Martin.

Additional Contacts folders are only possible in Exchange accounts, if you
have Entourage 2004 11.2, not locally ("On my Computer"). If you have an
exchange account, select either the main (or any other) exchange Contacts
folder in the Address Book area, or else click the Exchange account or any
Contacts folder within it in the Folders pane of the Mail area, then
File/New/Folder, name it, flip the Folder Type popup to Address Book if it
isn't already, and confirm the folder location. There you are.
