 - Entourage acts as if it was just installed on both my macs I was a away on business and my wife calls screaming - "all my emails are gone!" Her entire entourage information has dissapeared and she was looking at the "welcome to entourage" email as if it was just installed. That's not the end... When I got home and opened my intel chip duo processor powerbook...wallah..the same thing happened. Two macs, two empty email folders. Anyone out there have any ideas what happened and how to fix it and recover the lost info? I already tried rebuilding the dbase. One more thing, when I was away, I opened my entourage while doing tech support for my wife, and everything was fine, but I was showing her how to switch identities and I had several but she only had 1 identity. Nothing to switch to.... which i got to believe that can't be good. And I just check my identities again and I only have one plus the backup which was done after the problem occured. Please help.  - Read receipts I can't seem to turn off read receipt. The only evidence I found of them being activated was as a Rule, which I have now deleted but the recipients of my e-mail are still receiving them.  - does Entourage meetings have unique ids like outlooks 0x3 and 0x23 hello all, i am developing a sync services application to sync my backend server with mac ical and MS Entourage 11.2.3 In case of syncing meetings i face problem of ducplication of meeting at attendees server calendar, the scenario is like this 1. The Organizer of a meeting creates meeeting in his Entourage. 2. Meeting gets reflected at attendees calendar. 3. Now attendee syncs with server calendar, before the organizer syncs with his server calendar. 4. Meeting gets reflected at attendee's server calendar. 5. Now the Organizer syncs with his server calendar. 6. Meeting gets reflected at Organizers server calendar, and server sends meeting requests to all attendees, and this request creates duplicate meeting at attendees server calendar. i have been suggested that.........outlook maintains 0x3 and 0x23 properties with meetings to avoid such cases, and i belive if outlook has these things then Entourage must also have......but i m not able to access them yet :( does any one has any idea.........please help me thanks Aashish Tag: Entourage 11.2.5 and Word attachments Tag: 68669

 - Sync Services changed most of my time zones. A while back I started using Sync services with Entourage and Dot Mac. Things had been working great. Two computers, a cell phone and two iPods all working together. At least in the way I needed. Entourage is where I added everything and all others were read only for me. Today Sync Services changed almost all, but not all, the Time Zones on my calendar items to Casablanca. I'm on Eastern time. This bites! Anyone know where the calendar file is stored. There have only been a few changes since the last back up and this is definitely better than changing things one by one. I have stuff scheduled about 4 years out. I do use Categories in Entourage so I imagine pulling a file off the other computer isn't good.  - Signature Hi gang! Quick question on creating a signature in Entourage 11.2.5 in Tiger. If I want to place an image within my signature, say my company logo, does Entourage prefer jpegs or gifs? The reason I ask, is because when I send my signature to a PC user using Outlook, my logo on their PC shows up as empty with a small box with an X in it. I guess to say that the image wasn't able to display for some reason. On all Mac's running Entourage and Apple Mail for that matter, it looks fine. Any ideas? Thanks!  - Entourage-created Public Folder contacts in Outlook address book Hi all, Here's a fun one. In an Exchange 2003/Entourage 2004 11.2.5/Outlook 2003 environment, make a public folder for contacts on the Exchange server. Create some contacts, in Entourage, in the public folder. View the public folder in Outlook -- should look perfectly normal. Now, open properties for the public folder in Outlook and check "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book" in the Outlook Address Book tab. Click the Outlook e-mail address book icon and select your public folder as your search source. Notice anything funny? None of these people have NAMES! Just e-mail addresses; there's nothing in the Name or Full Name fields. Wha? The data is there, it shows fine in Contacts view -- but the address book viewer (which is, unfortunately, what many Outlook users go to when browsing for recipients to an e-mail) doesn't show the names. They also don't autocomplete correctly from the address fields in an e-mail. This state is preserved even if the contacts are copied from the public folder to a user-specific address book. It's possible to work around this by exporting/importing the contacts in Outlook (less than ideal for a public folder) or making a minor change to the contact name (adding a space at the end automatically truncates back, so that's one step).  - Rules cc and duplicate redirect I have set up Entourage 2004 to recieve and redirect several email addresses off the same domain. i.e. test1@test.co.uk test2@test.co.uk test3@test.co.uk Currently when a message comes in addressed to test1 it is redirected to another pop mail account and when a message addressed to test 2 comes in is redirected to different pop mail account etc. I have done this with rules such as If Any recipient is ..... Then redirect to ..... However a problem arises when test2 is cc in a message to test1 as Entourage recieves 2 separate messages (quite rightly as one is to test1 and the other the cc to test2) but the rule sees two lots of test1 and test2 reciepients and redirects two copies of the email to each pop mail account, if test3 was also cc then three messages are redirected.  - Entourage X - Most Recently Used list problem ...but its not the one you think. For some reason the Most Recently Used list doesn't work anymore. When I start to type an email it no longer suggests like it used to. I checked the preferences and its definitely turned on I also rebuilt my database but still... nothing Any thoughts?  - Calendar Sharing and Accounts Listed in From Dropdown We recently switched from Mail.app/iCal to Entourage 2004 with a hosted Exchange package and we're having some trouble with calendar sharing. We've been able to share calendars without much hassle (though it isn't the easiest or most intuitive process), but after opening another user's calendar through the "Open Other User's Folder" command that user's name now appears in the From dropdown when sending email. This is resulting in a great deal of confusion among our users as they don't understand why it looks like they can send email as their colleagues. Luckily, attempting to send mail through any account but the user's own fails. Is there a way to avoid colleagues names showing up in the From dropdown when sharing calendars?  - Solution: Meeting requests in Calendar not showing users' own free/busy When scheduling a meeting in Entourage 11.2.4 (and possibly later versions) our users could not see their own free/busy information alongside all the other attendees' free/busy info. It was just gray or some other non-useful colour. Again, the user scheduling the meeting could see everyone else's free/busy information. We have two email addresses at our organization. One could be considered legacy (but still the default email address for all users in the ogranization) and a shorter, more desirable address that we tell our users to use.  - Importing recently used addresses I am upgrading my organization to Office 2004 (finally) and many people in my office use the recent address feature in Entourage, instead of having contacts in their address book. When I import their data from Office X, that information seems to not be imported. Does anyone know how to import the recently used address list (sometimes referred to as the history)?  - Enterouge lost the connection to Exchange Server sometime an strange problem recently i meet that enterouge was lost connection to exchange server sometime, but the connection will be restored after restart the Enterouge.I don't think the network connection was dropped indeed because the MSN and Skype is online all time, just the Enterouge said CAN NOT CONNECT TO SERVER. Do you know what cause this problem and how t fix it. Maybe just change some settings in enterouge can fix this pronlem i don't know. Can you help.  - Sync (or copy) from Entourage into Mac's Address Book Occasionally there is a program that utilizes the option to pull/access contacts from Mac's Address Book. Since I use Entourage for everything, my Address Book is empty. Is there a free utility out there anywhere that would let me sync or copy my contacts information from Entourage into Address Book? I wouldn't have to do this very often. Definitely once to sync what's in it right now and then probably just once every few months for any changes/new contacts. I thought that I might be able to do it from within the programs themselves, but Entourage will only let you export a tab-delimited file and Address Book will only import vCards or LDIF files.  - Exporting projects Is there any way I can export all my Projects in one go as I can the Address Book, Calendar and Tasks? Do I really need to open each Project and select "Backup" from the "Overview" tab? I want an easy way to keep Entourage on my machine at work and on my PowerBook at home synchronised and archiving/restoring seemed like the way to go, but I'm not so sure.  - SMTP authentication error I recently began the process of upgrading my dedicated hosting environment. In the process my MTA was updated to qmail from sendmail. Using both Mail and Entourage I am getting a SMTP authentication error. Error: -17897 that states authentication failed because my email client doesn't support any of the available authentication methods. Oddly though, if I exit the mail program and then re-launch it after several minutes, the mail will go through.  - Multiple SMTP Servers in Entourage Due to the anally-retentive IT Manager where I work, I cannot use my laptop to send SMTP email from within the University's network. This is usually not a problem, as I can use the internal SMTP server to send my mail... However... I can't use that server from OUTSIDE the network, even with authentication, which is where I'm having grief. I have to change my account settings when I'm outside the network. Apple's Mail.app will at least allow me to have multiple SMTP servers configured and if one can't send mail it shows me the list and allows me to select another. Is there any way to do this in Entourage ? Alternatively, is there any way I can have Entourage change settings dependant on the IP address of my machine (203.10.x.x at work, and 192.168.x.x at home) ?  - Entourage Crash I've got Entourage 10.1.6, and running Tiger. It's suddenly started crashing on startup. It tries to start, the screen comes up showing the inbox, then it crashes. I've tried fixing permissions, ran applejack, and Xupport, and zapped the PRAM, but it's still crashing. By accident one of my mail folders slid into another mail folder, and now I can't drag it out and place it back where it usually resided in my line-up of folders. (Does this make sense).  - Old Database file and cache - delete or keep? I just completed an advanced rebuild in my entourage X. At the end, it told me to trash the filed Old Database file and Old database cache.  - Printing an email in entourage When I print an email in Entourage the header information prints in font size 16 and the text in font size 10.  - Inbox export only partial in E v.X I have posted several items about this problem client, but the short is he has a 3.8GB DB in Entourage v. X I deleted about 4000 emails, leaving him only with the last 3 months worth of email in his inbox. I then tried a rebuild on the database and it never completes - returns the same error as the attempts before deleting the 4000 emails: The database could not be rebuilt because there is not enough room on the disk to create the new database files. And there is plenty of room on the hard disk. So I exported (drag and drop all his folders to .mbox files), created him a new Identity and imported all the .mbox files and everything worked great, except the inbox.mbox. Even though there are 3 months worth of emails in the old identity for the export, only a handful of emails (20 or so) make it into the new Identity. It seems to be a problem with the drag and drop, creating the inbox.mbox (for it consistently is only 18.1MB). For now he is switching back and forth between Identities to access his old email, but does anyone have any tips on how to actually export the entire (3 months) inbox to the new Identity?  - IMAP and UIDPLUS with 11.2.5 It seems that Microsoft may have improved IMAP support in the latest (11.2.5) release of Entourage. In the past, Entourage required an IMAP server with a feature called UIDPLUS in order to be able to display Show Reply or Show Original hyperlinks at the top of a message that's stored on an IMAP server. I just noticed that these links now show on my IMAP messages since I updated to 11.2.5, although my ISP hasn't changed or updated their IMAP server. Has anyone else noticed the same behavior?  - Sync - Deletes all contacts, adds all contacts | goes over and over again and does not stop Hi, I enabled the sync in the latest Entourage. I said "Replace Entourage contacts". Entourage deletes all contacts, this is good. Then Entourage gets all contacts from the address book. This is good. A few seconds later, it removes all contacts again. Then it adds all contacts again. This goes on for hours ... what is happening here? Anyone got a clue?  - View preferences revert Every time I do an update or rebuild the mail database in Entourage, all my view preferences revert to the default (I don't have a few of the columns showing, and turn off "show in groups" for every folder).  - Exporting Projects Is there any way I can export all my Projects in one go as I can the Address Book, Calendar and Tasks? Do I really need to open each Project and select "Backup" from the "Overview" tab? I want an easy way to keep Entourage on my machine at work and on my PowerBook at home synchronised and archiving/restoring seemed like the way to go, but I'm not so sure.  - Messages from my IMAP in box automatically delete and move to "Folders on my computer" The subject pretty much describes the problem: I receive a message and it arrives and then is instantaneously deleted and moved to the inbox on the "Folders on my computer".  - Mounting the office PC server (SBS 2003) on a new iMac We've installed the Services For Macintosh (SFM) from the Mactopia site. I remember this doing the trick when it came down to mounting the PC drivers on the Mac. For some reason it's not giving us a proper Windows branded log-in prompt. (It's more OSX - SMB/CIFS File System Authentication). We can connect to Exchange and mail/contacts/calendars pour in. Still, there must be some setting turned off on SBS 2003 Exchange. There are proxies on that we've dealt with when we surf on the Mac and who knows what else. It just feels like something on the Exchange server needs to be activated. Any ideas?  - Imported Emails Show as Received Today I imported a large amount of emails from an Apple Mail folder into my inbox. All these emails are showing up as having been received today (7/19/06) even though each message is clearly marked with older dates. I have run disk utilities and it fixes it for one or two emails but then in reverts back to right justification.  - Can't Print HTML format email only For some reason, I can no longer print html based email. I can print from any other program and have done everything but reinstall Office. Text based email and other office programs print fine. I get an error of not enough memory. Tried working around by printing to pdf and then printing that, but still doesn't work.  - Reply using the Default Account when it should not!? Hi All, First query in this forum. I have an account in an IMAP server which receives emails for a number of different email addresses. I have set up a single account in Entourage which retrieves the messages in this single account from the IMAP server (and it does so happily), however; when replying to those messages, I do not seem to be able to get Entourage to reply to the address under which it was received.  - Associating emails with a Project in Entourage 2004 When setting up a project, you can certainly set the rules for emails and contacts. However, there doesn't seem to be a way to associate previous email messages with an existing Project. Searching for emails within the Project "Mail" tab doesn't produce any results. Also, attempting to ADD a contact is a chore, since there no "Search" feature enabled when your contact list is displayed. You have to scroll through your entire list. Cannot download a vcard from an apache server (running safari, firefox or explorer) (even tho vcard download works fine on a pc running windows explorer). 2. Since upgrading to Entourage 11.2.5, I have encountered problems
directly opening Word attachments into Word, especially if Word is
closed. I get the following dialog - "The application Word quit
unexpectedly. If I look at the report, I get -
Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS (0x0001) at 0xffdff3bc

Delete pdfmaker.dot (also pdfmaker.xlt & pdfmaker.ppa) and replace them with
folders named exactly the same.
