This one is great: <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/>. A lot of the folks who
are involved in creating/maintaining this site visit this newsgroup, too.

Access microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage via the Web? by Sam

I've tried a couple of web-based newsreaders but none seem to carry this
newsgroup on the news server they use. Any suggestions?

For Mac groups on the MS site, see here:

Note that wrapping a long URL in <> characters prevents return characters
from rendering it unclickable.

But that's such a horrible interface. Terrible. (It's supposed to improve
sometime or other.)

Much, much better is to use Google:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/community/community.aspx?pid=newsgroups

and click the "Browser" links for the newsgroups you want (e.g. Entourage).

Well, that's a useful page! (an aside: how sneaky is it to only put info
re spamproofing your address in the rules of conduct?) I'm actually not a
huge fan of the Google interface, but it is better than the MS. Have
updated my info on posting to Mac groups.

Gnarlie, thanks much for the tip re <> .

Indeed, excellent tip, brother Gnarlodious. I've been doing it myself for
the last year (i.e., enclosing URLs in "braces"), and my friends are
noticing and mimicking the habit. This is surely a good thing.

Note that it only works on the Mac.

As long as we are on the subject, I see URL's like this:
www.Gnarlodious.com

Is this considered a clickable URL by some emailers? Or doesn't everyone
care about clickability?

I care less about "clickability" per se than I do about a URL that simply
works, whether clicked on or cut-and-pasted into a browser address field.

I admit I didn't know about URLs surrounded by braces being interpreted
correctly only by Macs. That's a shame. Yet another reason to forsake stupid
Windows altogether, IMHO.

But please, I don't wish to ignite a Mac vs. PC debate here. They're mighty
tiresome; we've all heard the arguments a thousand times.

I think it's clickable in some Windows clients - I'd guess maybe only in
HTML where the hiddn encoding would automatically prefix the http://

Sometimes. It depends on the mail client.

It is, however, command-clickable in Entourage :)
