Is Entourage supposed to download the list of Public Folders every time you
go there? Is there a switch somewhere to tell it to cache that info so you
don't have to wait for hours for it to pull the list?

That is the way it is currently designed, yes. So I guess you could say it
is "supposed to".

Nope. You really should subscribe to the folders you need and then you don't
have to download the entire list to view just those folders.

This is a good idea - to get all your subscriptions taken care of once on
the initial cataloging... But if a student or teacher misses one or more
folders on their initial attempt to subscribe, it means that if they've
navigated from the Public Folders root, they'll have to wait 1/2 + for the
list to download again.

Not to mention, if we implement this in the labs for student use, they would
blow more than 1/2 a class period just waiting for the list to load to make
their initial subscriptions.

Without holding on to a cached list of folders, there's really not a way I
can see our faculty and staff utilizing the public folders through
Entourage.
