I am currently working on a business case to switch some
of our graphics people to Macs (G5, OSX, etc..). My
company is running Exchange 5.5. Which email program
should I use to take advantage of all of the Exchanges
services (calendar, global address book, etc..)?

Either Outlook 2001 in classic mode, Outlook running in VPC, or Outlook Web
Access.

Don't do it you'll be sorry. I actually did the reverse. The graphics
people were concerned at first but then preferred the PC's because the speed
was the same but they had many more apps that worked better on the PC.

I'm a graphics professional, I have Mac and Windows at home. My Mac is
an older 300MHz G3 and my Winbox is only about two years old, an
800MHz P3. Now I realize this is completely offtopic but let me
reassure you, the Mac handles the processor-intensive graphics apps
far, FAR better than the Winbox. I like having Windows around for
certain things but I would not EVER consider doing any more than a
little casual image editing in Windows. It's terrible.

Every Windows user we've moved to MacOS X would kill us if we tried to move

Word. And I admin a workgroup of Macs for a bunch of designers. Who
went to art school. And have degrees in graphic design. In other words
most of them have been using Macs since they were old enough to hold a
mouse, and if I even breathed the W word in their presence, they'd gut
me and use my entrails to mark the perimeter of the No Win Zone at our
corporation.

Why not Entourage vX with latest updates ?
Seems to work fine, and although it's not quite as slick as OL2003 it does
run on a Mac !

At the MacTopia website:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/

You have to go now to "View all downloads" in the panel at the right/ Office
v, X/ Office 10.1.2 updater, Office 10.1.4 Updater and (well, might as well)
Office 10.1.5 updater.

They will bring Entourage up to the 10.1.4 version you need for Exchange
accounts.

These are free updates of version 10 (Office v. X) . If your copy of of
Entourage (Get Info in the Finder) shows as v 10.1.1 (as opposed to 10.1.0
or 10.0.0) then you are already at 10.1.2 (not an error!) update and can
just apply 10.1.4 and 10.1.5.
